Thanks for the sub. Returned.
I like those metal detecting posts. I have a detector, just haven't broken it in yet. It helps me to watch experienced guys doing it.

@10fold ----A Tracker 4 (?). Its in my truck and I am getting ready for work, don't want to go outside just yet. I still haven't used it.
I live in South Jersey and I want to look around old Revolutionary War sites around here. I think it might not be strong enough though.

@10fold ---Thanks. I think so too.
I live about five miles from the Chestnut Neck battlefield. The entire area is surrounded by woods. I have a hunch I may find something by systematically searching the woods there.

with the price of gold being what it is these days and the economy being what it is, metal detecting seems to be a pretty good idea.

Hey Brutha...How are you liking the performance on your Garrett AT Pro thus far? Fixin' to pull the trigger on one shortly along with the pen pointer.... just wanted to get your real world feedback? Would you do anything different?
Thanks abunch

man, I am loven the Garret AT Pro and the garret Pro pointer. That pro pointer is a VERY big help. the AT Pro takes a bit of getting use to. there really is a lot to learn with it. I started off using standard mode and gradually moved into pro mode. I would suggest reading the manual. For the first two weeks out, I took it with me to use as reference guild and I watched lots of videos. still do and I am still learning. One thing that I have learned is to eat a good meal before More..

Have you checked out the XP DEUS ? My 8X is great underwater and I find plenty for silver, clad and gold ..But I cannot adjust the pulse rate for land use.All my land targets are iron..Let me know what you think of the XP DEUS when you have some time,Cheers..

I checked the xp deus and it "looks good" but its seems limited and for that price you should be able to get more out of a detector. The AT Pro that I ended up getting is able to locate a piece of copper, silver or gold in a pile of old rusty nails. it appears that the xp deus really falls short in that area. for $2000.00 I think that I would look at buying the Spectra V3i or VX3 even though they are not water proof
