its funny that you say likely a national guard unit. i have been with both active and NG units and seen piss poor maintenenance in both. Its not about the unit its about the leadership and there is shitty ldrshp in both components. Also I don't think it was maintenance issues. Notice he wasn't charghing the weapon. If it was maintenance there would have been a weapon charge after each shot. Also at the end he was firing on AUTO.

Check out this link. This was directly due to piss poor maintenance and it was your friendly active brethren from the 10th mountain.

saw your comment about the people that harassed you still being in the asshole of the world. I'm a marine infantry vet and went through the same crap. every time i heard about a IED killing a civilian, i think ' man i hope they got that little fucker"
