I don't disagree. Really interesting reads on your page here about Islam, too.
I would say the last thing someone did that was a violent act that allowed me to sleep peacefully was a long time ago, WWII perhaps. The US/Soviet race to be the next super power ravaged the world, after WWII, more than WWII itself. In any event, violence is the proper response to violence if the end result is loss of life, or injury. Idealogical, unilateral invasions or acts of belligerence are never justified.
