Saw your comment and I do some Volunteer work in a Church Soup Kitchen. I either help prep , cook or serve depends on my free time. I am seeing people dressed nice out looking for work stopping in for a meal and couples with children stopping in to eat.
I donate venison also. Got connections in the Grocery and Restuarant Business that donate food also.

Though the education system has a BIG part to play
in the turnout of these children, most of the
blame, IMHO, really comes from the parents and the
home environment. John is right on target, there
isn't a silver bullet to solve this problem.
Lack of disipline at home leads to gangs, drugs
and crime both on the streets and at school.
There's really nothing that one person can do to
help solve this, except for mom and dad...
