Just subscribed. Thanks. My cover band has a gig next weekend in a bar. Haven't played out for months - looking forward to it. We do Pride and Joy. My main stage guitar is an American-made Sienna Sunburst Strat with Rosewwod fingerboard, loaded with Seymour Duncan "Lil 59" skinny humbuckers.

Cool. I want to get a genuine Tele. I really wouldn't care if it is American or Mexican.
Other guitars I have include two custom Carvins I had built. One is a mid-90s TL-60 quilted maple top (natural blonde) over Koa body. The other is a 1987 DC-125 candy apple red, ebony fretboard, w/Kahler Pro trem. I also have an Epi Dot deluxe semi-hollow, and a one-pickup Yamaha bass guitar. Oh and two acoustics.
Amp-wise: Two Yamaha DG100s (first-generation modeling amps) 2x12 with Celest More..

@Singlecoilsnap I used to play .013 to .056 sets to try to get his tone through a 4x10 bassman. My callouses hated me. No greater strat tone than stevie's (pre-rehab)

@2DLISH2QUIT I love the tone. I have a maple fretboard strat and have been trying larger gauge strings, I really like the tone but as you said my fingers get a little beat up. A lot of people go about distortion the wrong way, pushing some tubes hard sounds way better than stomping on some metal OD pedal.

@Singlecoilsnap one thing I found works well for gigs is putting super glue on yr callouses. Let them dry, and they're hard as rocks. You can reapply between sets and bend strings for four sets and still do the same thing next nite without much problem. SRV used to superglue torn callouses back on but i never did that

@2DLISH2QUIT I wish I could play that often, lately I've been trying to play more. My apartment complex doesn't like texas blues wailin' out of a tube amp I guess, so I play with my acoustic there mostly and only jam my electric after work or with my little brother. I keep a Les Paul and a Fender Super Champ at my work so I can play afterwards when I want. Couple of damn hags that sit at home with nothing else to do ruined me playing there. All I ever got was compliments, whatever though.
