After pointing out that McCain used the same tactic as Franken (with or without the same result the tactic of becoming a literalist about rules is the same tactic).

I was just giving entinlude shit. I'm just as guilty. But I'm more of a bulimic debater. I get into huge arguments and waste hours of my time and then decide to never do it again.

I find "climate-gate" rather amusing. Sure, let's listen to people who deny evolution and can't distinguish even between theory and Theory instead of consensus of worldwide data and experts. Deniers are obviously trained in statistics, computer programming, and paleoclimatology in order to make such strong assertions from snippets of email and code... right?

I think the important thing is to keep opinions about global warming based on the data and not emotions.
I get really frustrated with people who falsify global warming data because it hurts the environmental movement in general. Even if global warming is false there are still plenty of negative impacts humans have on the environment.

Agreed. One can't assume that man has zero effect on the planet - that's observably false.
I personally don't think the emails show a 'scam' (as those who had already called it a scam are now hollering). I haven't seen anything showing false data, and I've been saying that many of the computer models are inaccurate for awhile. No change to my predetermination bias! ;) I am glad that there will be more transparent access to data out of this though.

Yeah my understanding is that sea temperatures have been rising. Considering how water has a very high specific heat capacity I think it's very strong evidence for warming. I'm not so worried about air temperatures because those naturally fluctuate all over the place.
