Talking about the HMMWV, the original was nothing like those you see in this video. These are the new Up-armor vehicles. The ones we had in 2004 did not have the ballistic windows, nor the armor protecting the crew. We started by doing field modifications, and putting sand bags on the floor to help. But those original could only stop small arms, ie pistol rounds. 7,62 would go through them like butter. Now, the new ones, like shown in that video are much safer. But also have draw backs.
