nah mate. well, actually theres some german in there along with scots, english and norwegian...a true aussie mongrel. but the german is all learnt, not passed on. i wish my oldies had taught me a second language as a kid though, god knows it woulda been a lot easier!! everyone should be forced to learn atleast one foreign language and travel abroad IMO. there's no better way to combat ignorance and open up peoples' horizons

Thanks mate. I can't really add anything to what you've said, your spot on.
I grew up in england. My mum is german, my dad is british. LOL ! Mum spoke german to us and dad spoke english. I hated it then but now I see how lucky I was. I lived in berlin germany from 74-86.
I agree that traveling and seeing other countries gives you a broad perspective. I wish more americans would do it. I see by some of the comments posted on LL that there are many ignorant people who have probably never left More..
