Thanks for the support mate - I did get my knackers in bit of a twist, but the arrogance, the sheer arrogance , I hate it!

"I did go to the link you posted and the point still stands. It's not as if this guy was decapitated and they stood a better chance if the bleeding was reduced. Surely as a medic you would realise this."
It was a mortal wound. The 2 bullets hit his lung and heart. Anyone can apply pressure to stop an extremity bleed. How do you apply pressure to the heart? You can't. I've seen this wound several times, I know how it ends. Sorry you didn't gather anything from the link.

If I'm not mistaken, the link was to a wikipedia page on haemopneumothorax. This condition is not always fatal, which is the response i provided. No where in the video info did it say the person was hit in the heart and lung - and one couldn't be sure of the exact bullet entries from watching the vid. I can understand that any attempt to save the person was a lost cause if he was shot in the heart. The PRIMARY point I was making was that the police should have applied pressure until paramedics a More..

haha, you introduce juvenile retorts into a discussion, then when I make a humorous retort, with no malice attached, you get all offended. This isn't a "comments war", just a clarification.

Nice name. Shame about this season. Mind you two games to turn it round or is that being overly optimistic given the results to date.

ah ok cheers,

Used to be a lot more keen before they turned to crap starting from when di canio pushed that damn ref.

Thanks for the response. Just curious because I watched friends freebase K a long time ago after their stash got wet and they couldn't get it out of the vial to snort it. Thought it might not be a bright idea to do so, since I knew it was an anesthetic, but like I said I'm not familiar with it's chemical properties. Thanks again. Rare are the instances people on here actually know what they claim to, your information was a welcome relief.

To the comment below, was it really necessary to quote all that text. My reference to 'civil discussion' was not with that nutcase on your 'My_Media' page but to driedjellow below, so what you're quoting here is out of context. I actually looked on your page because of a comment you posted to something (which I cannot remember now) but at the time I was interested in seeing some other views you expressed. When I saw what that nutcase had written, I thought it warranted a reply. I stated my reaso More..

In case you haven't seen the clip I was responding to, the person was ranting on about why abortion is wrong and how this is the case as soon as conception occurs. They were also implying that abortion at any stage is comparable to murdering a your 5 year old child.
In my response I was proposing that abortion at an early stage isn't "murder" but comparable to removing skin cells. When I say perception of life, I am referring to the individual's experience of their own life. Being More..

I don't understand what the "perception" of life is. Maybe it is a cultural difference between us. I interpret that is when we can detect weather something is alive or not. Again based upon the merger of the haploid cells you create a technical form of life. I am not being belligerent, I think there must be a language barrier that is interfering with my ability to understand.
I understood your primary point about Chomsky not being an idiot. I will define what I feel an idiot More..

Also for you to draw the conclusion that people who fine Chomsky an idiot to be underpriviledged Americans is fallacious.
It seems that many here on LL take an air of intellectual superiority to those with differing opinions."

Your education appears to be in biology, I have a BA in psysics so I don't purport to know as much as you but I strongly disagree with your interpretation of life. I have been taught from day 1 that "life" is defined by something that can replicate and that metabolizes. No where have I read that define neural activity is necessary for the definition.
Also for you to draw the conclusion that people who fine Chomsky an idiot to be underpriviledged Americans is fallacious.
