    • Read up on the definition of the word "semite", and you will realize it's a middle-eastern race! THat includes Arabs! And Jews don't like it! I have no problem with jewish people. It's the spoiled, arrogant ones who think the world revolves around them I dislike!
I have some jewish friends, and they agree with me! Just because CNN or, laughably, FOX news say it's anti-semite (which, I may add...and do your research, you'll see it's true-is run predominantly by zionist jews, and zioni More..

      • Sure. But just because both sides do it doesn't mean it should be tolerated. The unions are wrong here, and I resent having to pay taxes to bail them out. Let the Big 3 declare bankruptcy and rebuild without the union's foot on their neck. Let the market work.

    • I took five years of economics and political science in Journalism school brother, and the first tenant of economics is that in order for a man to have two of something, another man has to go without.
You're obviously a confirmed capitolist and I understand the theory behind free market economics quite well, but, to be honest, I don't care about any of that.
I care about the quality of life of the average working guy. Nobody's forcing the CEO's to lower their obscene incomes or the shareholders More..

If you really believe this, then I don't think you studied economics.

        -- You're obviously a confirmed capitolist

And, if you'd really studied economics, you'd probably know how to spell "capitalist".

      • Subaru. Great car. Good value. Haven't had reason to look at a GM car in years. I'd like that to change.

      • So you have a lot to say about what's wrong with American auto industry management and why they are failing....but you are financing the competition. Way to be a team player.

      • So, if I follow you correctly, you're saying that *because* I think Ford/GM/Chrysler cars are a poor value compared to a Subaru or Toyota, that I should buy the GM/Ford/Chrysler car?

I don't think that makes any sense whatsoever.

        1. My Subaru was manufactured in the US and employs US workers.
        2. My Subaru is a better value for me, the consuer.
        3. My purchasing a Subaru provides incentive for GM/Ford/Chrysler to figure out how the hell to build a product that I would consider to be a better val More..

Sorry about the typo on "capitolism". I did go to college for five years and though I spent most of it in the campus pub chasing chubby girls in mini skirts, I did learn enough know that if we don't bail these assholes out again (and I'm a big time tax payer, bro), there's going to be way too many unemployed people flooding the system at onc More..

I understand where you're coming from on the bailout. If they go under it will have a ripple effect.

The issue is, however, which is the better long term solution...which route will cause us the least pain and lay a better foundation for the future.

    • Power corrupts. The UAW is a powerhouse. I'm not a UAW member but the need for them is clear. My own experience with Unions has been nothing but positive and I see the need for them as a necessary evil, like law enforcement. Without the balance they provide, the power would be all in the hands of management, and say what you will, you can't have that.

      • Nice to know you've had good experiences with your union.

That said, I didn't suggest that unions didn't have their place. What I said was that in this case the union is the primary reason that the US auto companies can't compete. The US economy needs the UAW to lose this battle and be forced to renegotiate new contracts with the US companies that will be more in line with what the other companies manufacturing cars here pay their employees.
