@85cmorning yes it was tough in ww2. The country also got attacked by the italians as well. In the general history of the country we have been attacked by several other countries which left a lot of damage.
The primary reason is that the location of Malta in the mediterranean sea has a good velue strategically to control N. Africa primarily.
