In March, PoliceOne conducted the most comprehensive survey ever of American law enforcement officers' opinions on the topic gripping the nation's attention in recent weeks: gun control.

More than 15,000 verified law enforcement professionals took part in the survey, which aimed to bring together the thoughts and opinions of the only professional group devoted to limiting and defeating gun violence as part of their sworn responsibility.

Totaling just shy of 30 questions, the survey allowed officers across the United States to share their perspectives on issues spanning from gun control and gun violence to gun rights.

Top Line Takeaways
Breaking down the results, it's important to note that 70 percent of respondents are field-level law enforcers - those who are face-to-face in the fight against violent crime on a daily basis - not office-bound, non-sworn administrators or perpetually-campaigning elected officials.

1.) Virtually all respondents (95 percent) say that a federal ban on manufacture and sale of ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds would not reduce violent crime.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveryQ6.gif

2.) The majority of respondents - 71 percent - say a federal ban on the manufacture and sale of some semi-automatics would have no effect on reducing violent crime. However, more than 20 percent say any ban would actually have a negative effect on reducing violent crime. Just over 7 percent took the opposite stance, saying they believe a ban would have a moderate to significant effect.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ5.gif

3.) About 85 percent of officers say the passage of the White House's currently proposed legislation would have a zero or negative effect on their safety, with just over 10 percent saying it would have a moderate or significantly positive effect.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ4.gif

4.) Seventy percent of respondents say they have a favorable or very favorable opinion of some law enforcement leaders' public statements that they would not enforce more restrictive gun laws in their jurisdictions. Similarly, more than 61 percent said they would refuse to enforce such laws if they themselves were Chief or Sheriff.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ15.gif

http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ16.gif

5.) More than 28 percent of officers say having more permissive concealed carry policies for civilians would help most in preventing large scale shootings in public, followed by more aggressive institutionalization for mentally ill persons (about 19 percent) and more armed guards/paid security personnel (about 15 percent).
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/Question-22-enlarged.gif

6.) The overwhelming majority (almost 90 percent) of officers believe that casualties would be decreased if armed citizens were present at the onset of an active-shooter incident.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ16.gif

7.) More than 80 percent of respondents support arming school teachers and administrators who willingly volunteer to train with firearms and carry one in the course of the job.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ24.gif

8.) More than four in five respondents (81 percent) say that gun-buyback programs are ineffective in reducing gun violence.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ17.gif

9.) More than half of respondents feel that increased punishment for obviously illegal gun sales could have a positive impact on reducing gun violence
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ8.gif

10.) When asked whether citizens should be required to complete a safety training class before being allowed to buy a gun, about 43 percent of officers say it should not be required. About 42 percent say it should be required for all weapons, with the remainder favoring training classes for certain weapons.
http://ddq74coujkv1i.cloudfront.net/gun-surveyQ9.gif

11.) While some officers say gun violence in the United States stems from violent movies and video games (14 percent), early release and short sentencing for violent offenders (14 percent) and poor identification/treatments of mentally-ill individuals (10 percent), the majority (38 percent) blame a decline in parenting and family values.

WHEN YOU'RE ONLY 'ALLOWED' 10-ROUNDS AND POLICE ARE 'ONLY' 5-10 MINUTES AWAY
THANKS LIBERAL 'PROGRESSIVES' ALL FOUR WERE REPEAT OFFENDERS

When a group of black men were planning a home-invasion robbery in Fayetteville, N.C., on Friday, they stuck to an M.O. that had succeeded all over the country, but made one fatal error: They chose the wrong home.

The residents of the targeted house were home at the time and armed. After what local authorities report as a "gun battle," two of alleged robbers died.

Most home invasion robberies follow the same script: Find a residence in a nice neighborhood where people do not live too close together. Statistics show potential victims are likely white or Asian, though professional athletes of all races are common targets, too. In this case, police are not identifying the identity of the home owner.

In an increasingly common crime around the country, especially in rural areas near cities, the perpetrators rush in, maybe beat up the occupants, take what they came for and get out. Maybe kill someone. Maybe not.

But this is the most important part of the plan: The potential victims need to be defenseless.

And that is where Xavier White, Dominik Lavon Council, Lamyer Gorminie Campbell and Derek Rashaun Hair went wrong: They chose the wrong house.

Police are not releasing the name of the homeowner who shot and killed two of these men as they broke into his home 3:37 a.m. Friday.

Xavier White reportedly died after crawling to a neighbor's house a block a way and begging for help. Dominik Lavon Council was reportedly found nine miles away, abandoned on the road with a fatal gunshot wound.

The other two suspects, who initially escaped, were taken into custody Sunday and charged with burglary and assorted offenses. This is not their first brush with the law.

The homeowner was also wounded and has gone into hiding, say local media reports. He is not expected to be charged because North Carolina is considered a strong "castle law" state - where a homeowner is allowed to use deadly force against anyone breaking into his home or even car. He is not required to retreat.

The Fayetteville area was made popular in the movie "Cape Fear," where a convicted felon terrorized his former lawyer and family for doing a poor job at his trial. One of the perpetrators died at the Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

The incident reflects another example of black mob violence, a pattern documented in the book:
"White Girl Bleed a Lot, the return of racial violence and how the media ignore it."

Local media were hesitant to discuss the wider racial and 2nd Amendment issues the attempted robbery presents. The daily paper reported it dutifully, but did not allow comments - as many local media outlets do not when the crime is racially charged.

But at local TV news websites, dozens of comments touted the incident as a win for the Second Amendment in the face of increasing racially-charged crime.

A web visitor identified as Al, for example, told the ABC affiliate, "Four guys break into a house, and two are dead - not bad. Dunno how many shots were fired, but evidently is was more than Biden's 'two shots in the air.' Yet these bozos will tell you, 'you don't need more than a 10-round magazine.' Guess they never heard of flash mobs either. Oh wait, CBS calls them 'mischievous youths.'"

Vepr 12 Home Defense Shotgun - When only the best will do

The Vepr 12 shotgun is based the Kalashnikov (AK-47) light machine-gun. The key niches for Vepr 12 are sport shooting under IPSC rules, as well as use for civilian home defense and for security purposes. Vepr 12 is produced by "Molot" factory, which also makes RPK-74 machine guns and Vepr brand semi-automatic hunting rifles. All "Vepr" brand rifles and shotguns are broadly based on the RPK-74 light machinegun designs, adapted for civilian purpose and appropriate ammunition.

TheVepr 12 shotgun is gas-operated, semi-automatic shotgun which uses long-stroke gas piston located above the barrel, and a rotary locking bolt. Gas system is self-regulating and does not need manual adjustments. Gun is fitted with modified AK-style safety that has additional lever that permits faster "safety on" operation (mostly useful for IPSC shooters). Safety lever is also duplicated on the left side of the receiver. Other useful addition that is not found in AKor Saiga 12 is bolt hold-open devicewhich holds the bolt open when magazine is exhausted. Magazine housing is provided with extended magazine tunnel, which permits for faster magazine insertion (without typical AK-style rocking movement, necessary to lock the standard AK-type magazine).

Furniture includes a detachable or fixed flash hider on the barrel, a side-folding skeletonized butt with polymer coating, and plastic pistol grip and forend. Bottom handguard and bottom of gas block are fitted with Picatinny-type accessory rails, additional rail is provided on the receiver top cover, which is hinged to the receiver at the front.Standard sights are of AK pattern as well, with front sight installed on the gas block and adjustable rear sight on the receiver. It is worth to note that Vepr 12 shotguns can use magazines in 5, 8, 10, and 12 round capacity as well as a 20 round drum magazine.

Vepr shotguns are produced in three basic versions, standard (with 430 mm /16,9" barrel with removable flash hider), Vepr 12 mod.01 (with 520 mm /20,5" barrel with fixed flash hider) and Vepr 12 mod.02 (with 680mm / 26,8" barrel with interchangeable chokes).

The Station nightclub fire was the fourth deadliest nightclub fire in U.S. history, killing 100 people. The fire began at 11:07 PM EST, on Thursday, February 20, 2003, at The Station, a glam metal and rock and roll themed nightclub located at 211 Cowesett Avenue in West Warwick, Rhode Island.
The fire was caused by pyrotechnics set off by the tour manager of the evening's headlining band, Great White, which ignited flammable sound insulation foam in the walls and ceilings surrounding the stage. A fast-moving fire engulfed the club in 5 1/2 minutes. In addition to the 100 fatalities, some 230 people were injured and another 132 escaped uninjured. Video footage of the fire shows its ignition, rapid growth, the billowing smoke that quickly made escape impossible, and the exit blockage that further hindered evacuation.

Rtishchevo, Russia

Student pilot on first 'solo' flight in Let L-410 (another student as right seat observer) with guidance from his Instructor Pilot (heard on radio). The students lack of experience led to a higher than normal approach speed and 'nose first' touchdown, the latter then transgressed into a series of PIO (pilot induced oscillation) ultimately causing the landing gear to fail and the aircraft to depart the runway. Damage was significant enough to salvage all components and scrap the airframe, the IP resigned and the student was suspended from the program.

Pilot Induced Oscillation-
sustained or uncontrollable oscillations resulting from efforts of the pilot to control the aircraft

Here is a decent paper on PIO:

Police Confront Man for Open Carrying Firearm Legally

Know your right folks....

This is as good of an example as you can get of asserting your rights. Pete is no stranger to filming police and this is the second video of his used by Cop Block. The first was confronting Arlington police officers about parking their cruiser illegally, which Cop Block is still waiting to hear the outcome of that investigation. Petes decisions to go to his girlfriends aid, film the police, open carry a firearm, refuse to produce ID and to walk away from the police, without satisfying their request, were all perfectly legal acts.

Though you dont ever have to talk to the police, Pete has a background in Law Enforcement along with a great knowledge of open carry laws. Therefore, while he still talked to the police and provided them with information, above and beyond whats legally required, he did so with caution. Stating things like, yes, I have an ID but am I legally required to show you? When told he was legally required to (a lie) Pete would ask if the officers could show him that statue which states such? Pete does this because the police are legally allowed to lie to you, which they did several times in this video, but Pete counters that by asking questions to the officers which would force them to back up their lies. As you can see they were unable to do that. After talking with them for a few minutes Pete stated he was going to leave and why, then slowly backed away.

They didnt follow him after that and he never had to produce his government issued ID. There really was no wrong doings by the police officers in this video (other than the harassment and lying) as they seemed to be stumped by Petes actions. Though they have typical cop syndrome of if you have nothing to hide why dont you just give us what we ask for and/or do what we say. Youd think that with all the police training and on the job experiences they would of quickly came to the conclusion that felons dont walk up to cops openly displaying not only a firearm but a camera too. Do these cops think that Pete is going to film his last five minutes of freedom, if he were a felon? I highly doubt it and Im speaking from the perspective of a felon (as Im a victim of the drug war).

So what can be learned from this video? A lot, but the two biggest things to me are how Pete always keeps his cool and doesnt get in a shouting match with the officers. He doesnt try to impress them with a bunch of legal rambling that would make him seem like a know it all. He lets the officers speak and then replies giving as little information as possible in a calm cool collected manner. The second is how Pete counters questions with questions. In most cases, unless driving or suspected of criminal activity, youre not required legally to produce ID when asked to by an officer. Cops phrase it as a request, may I see your ID? Which isnt them telling you to produced it but merely a request to. Sometimes when asked if you legally have to show them they lie and say yes because they can lie. Therefore instead of just handing it over ask them, Am I legally required to do so? If they say yes then ask to see the law. If you start to feel uncomfortable remember at any point you can simply stop talking to them. State that unless youre under arrest youre just going to go on your way, like Pete-8does here. Leaving the cops dumbfounded.

They are BUMS! Not "homeless people".

Not 50' away were two Port-a-johns but this BUM decided to squat up against a trash receptacle in a small park between a busy street and some homes three times over a span of 10 minutes (obvious he had the runs). Not seen are the dozen or so people (including kids) waiting at a bus stop just off camera to the left. After each time he mopped himself up with napkins pulled from the receptacle (and then drop on the ground) he would go back to a table where 2 other BUMS were camped out. This is not a disenfranchised voter & homeless person, he is a BUM, if you care about him so much move him into your backyard. But my guess is he will be one of many BUMS sought by the likes of ACORN to cast a vote for Obama in the coming weeks.
