June 6th, 1944. We all know the story of D-Day, the Allied landings on
the beaches of Normandy. However on April 27 and 28, 1944 off the south
coast of England at Slapton Sands, what was to be a full scale rehearsal
of the D-Day landings turned into a disaster that almost put the entire
Normandy invasion in jeopardy.

To this day, the official death
toll from April 28th stands at 749 men killed. Now, historian Richard
Bass digs deeper into the mystery, secrecy and controversy that
surrounds Exercise Tiger. His research uncovers evidence that the death
toll may be much greater than the official account states.

During WWII, Allied prisoners of war were always looking for ways to
escape. One such place dedicated to that effort was Ft. Hunt, Virginia.
Known only as a post office box number during the war, this highly
secretive place was also an intelligence center. It's main goals were to
send the prisoners packages which contained hidden devices to gather
intelligence on the enemy forces and to aid in their escape efforts.
This program also includes interviews by former members of Ft. Hunt who
were sworn to secrecy.
