This song was written by Eric Bogle and is performed here by Ronnie Drew and The Dubliners. It is the story of a young Australian man sent off to fight in the First World War in Europe. This song is a very powerful and moving tale of one man's experience of war.Although it was written from an ANZAC soldiers' point of view it remains relevant to all service personnel everywhere in the world.

Probably one of the most thought provoking songs of the twentieth century.

This is a small tribute to those who gave their lives in service of their country , not just in the First World War, but in all conflicts.

Please listen to the whole thing , and reflect on it before commenting.

Thank You.

WARNING: You cannot get these 3 minutes of your life back again.

If it is a repost then I apologise in advance guys!
