"No." Milla's attorney, Spencer Aronfeld, has argued that his client should have never been allowed to have a penile implant due to his uncontrolled diabetes. "The one and only person who cleared him for this surgery, on that day, was Dr. Boeru," said Aronfeld, "and our entire case is, that at that particular time, he should have said, 'Wait a second, let's treat the medical conditions first.'" Boeru swore under oath that his obligations and risks only relate to the anesthesia, not the actual implant of the penis and potential risks. "I addressed a small period of time of contact with the patient, which is the preoperative period of time," Boeru said on the stand. "My role is stopped when the epidural catheter, that's what you do in Obstetrics, is out or the patient is out of recovery." Milla's problems began after a Gangrene infection spread through his penis about nine days after the surgery. Aronfeld detailed the traumatic experience his client went through. "Turned into a flesh-eating bacteria that ate his penis centimeter by centimeter," he said, " and as a result of this, he has to spend the rest of his life without a functioning penis. Alina Sarag died of tuberculosis after her GP claimed she was 'lovesick' Photo: Newsteam Alina Sarag was seen by more than five doctors at four different hospitals but medics failed to detect the curable disease. Her distraught parents even called her GP more than 50 times about their daughter's ailing condition over a four-and-a-half month period before her death on January 6 last year. An inquest heard that her GP, Dr Sharad Shripadrao Pandit, accused her parents of "mollycoddling" her. Shockingly, he even claimed her symptoms were brought on because she was 'lovesick'. Her distraught father, Sultan Sarag, 43, broke down as he told Birmingham Coroner's Court: "The doctor said to her 'Did you meet someone on holiday? Are you missing him?' "She found it very distressing he was suggesting she was lovesick for a boy. "He said all the problems were in her head and she should see a psychiatrist or spiritual healer. "When he said that in front of her it totally broke her heart. "He said she was only doing it to keep me at the house nursing her. "He said 'It is because of you that she is making it up'. "He said when she was younger my attitude had a detrimental effect on her. "I was running around looking after her, nursing her. "He said 'She's only doing that to keep you in the house so you don't go from there'. "That's what his explanation was." Mr Sarag also claimed Dr Pandit refused to test his daughter for TB. He told the inquest: "He said, 'We don't need these tests, we are not going to get them done either.' "As you tried to progress he just totally changed the subject." Mr Sarag - who is also being treated for TB - told the inquest his daughter vomited up to 10 times a day and had to be carried to bed "like an old woman with weak legs". He added that he made more than 50 phone calls to the GP's surgery in Birmingham but Dr Pandit failed to return his calls. Mr Sarag said: "There was mass neglect. The medical profession, as soon as they mess up they hide." Alina first contracted TB in 2009 after a girl at her school was diagnosed with the illness. She was prescribed a course of antibiotics at Birmingham Chest Clinic but medical staff never followed up her treatment. Alina was struck down again in July 2010 after returning from a trip to Pakistan with her family. The inquest heard a simple phlegm test would have shown Alina was suffering from TB but this was never carried out. Instead, doctors shrugged off her family's concerns and told them Alina was suffering from a chest infection despite being classed as a "high risk" patient. Alina's weight plummeted and at one point she was so ill she could only tolerate baby food. After doctors at Heartland and City hospitals did not detect TB, Alina was admitted to Sandwell Hospital where she stayed for five days. TB was picked up but no phlegm test was carried out and a chest X-ray was thought to have found a chest infection. She later saw a clinical psychologist at Birmingham Children's Hospital but was in too much pain to complete the assessment. On January 6, 2011 Alina was rushed to hospital after suffering breathing difficulties and she died of a cardiac arrest. Following her death, Alina, who attended Golden Hillock School in Sparkhill, Birmingham, a clinical review revealed doctors missed repeated opportunities to diagnose her condition. The family have enlisted Birmingham-based solicitors Irwin Mitchell. The inquest, which is expected to take up to six days and call 20 witnesses, continues. The state confiscated his weapons citing safety, but now a judge's order - citing the right to bear arms - means he will get them back. Steven Hopler of Rockaway knows a lot about guns. The 49-year-old has been handling them since childhood, and practices regularly at a local gun range. His aim is incredible, especially considering he's blind. "I've handled guns for many years - being sighted and being blind - and I've never had a problem," Hopler told CBS 2's Derricke Dennis on Friday. But four years ago, Hopler had an accident. He shot himself in the leg. Police responded and took six of his guns, citing safety concerns. They also accused him of drinking too much. "They had taken the guns that were out in plain sight," Hopler said. That episode began a legal battle that wound up in Morris County Superior Court. Prosecutors argued Hopler shouldn't have guns because he's a danger. However, a judge ruled otherwise, saying his disability shouldn't take away his constitutional right to bear arms. Robert Trautman is Hopler's attorney, and said police singled out his client. "The state argued that Steve drinks too much." Trautman said. "It's just simply that the police didn't want Steve Hopler to own firearms because he's blind and they felt that was improper." In a statement, the Morris County prosecutor said "From the outset, there was concern as to whether Mr. Hopler was suitable to possess firearms...we are satisfied that we had our day in court...and no appeals will be filed." With the ordeal finally over, Hopler said the victory is about more than guns. "I wouldn't say power, freedom," he said. The judge's order said Hopler's guns should now be returned. "These are the people that we have to notify by mail that we have a reason to believe that they're a non-citizen," said Christina White, Deputy Supervisor of Elections. Miami-Dade is not alone. Broward is looking at 260 registered voters and Monroe is investigating four. Numbers are important in elections. After all, the 2000 presidential election was decided by just over 500 votes. "So it's very important that voter registration rolls are accurate and only people who are eligible, are able to vote," White told CBS4's Gio Benitez. It's unclear if any of these people have ever voted. The new information simply shows they can vote. Each person has 30 days to respond to the County's inquiry asking them to prove their citizenship. Up until recently, no proof of citizenship was required when registering to vote. "So, if we find out after the fact that you are actually a non-citizen, and you are registered to vote, then we would report you to the State Attorney's office," said White. The State Attorney may charge anyone unlawfully registered to vote with a felony. "So if you are not and you check the box on the registration form that says that you are , we are required to register you to vote, because you are taking that under oath." Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes supports the investigation of non-citizen voters. "As someone who has to uphold the laws of the state of Florida for elections, it's totally inappropriate for that person to have been voting, if that's the case," said Snipes. Green Airport on Monday were a result of "a domestic dispute," Rhode Island Airport Police told WBZ-TV. Officers uncovered a disassembled .40 caliber hand gun and ammunition that had been "artfully concealed" inside of three stuffed animals. According to TSA officials, the main frame of the gun was inside one stuffed animal, a magazine loaded with two .40 caliber rounds and a firing pin were found inside a second stuffed animal, and a slide release lever was wedged inside a third stuffed animal. TSA Spokesperson Ann Davis says those components when pieced together, are enough to make up a functioning gun. The 4-year-old child was traveling with his father. After interviewing the father, authorities said they believed his story that he did not know the gun parts were there. "It appears to be the result of a domestic dispute," said Rhode Island Airport Police Chief Leo D. Messier. A law enforcement source says police are investigating whether the man's wife was involved. Officers confiscated the weapon. The man and his son were allowed to continue on their trip on board a Pinnacle Airlines flight to Detroit. Olson, 22, to the hospital to see her when he struck three parked cars and overturned, West Allis Deputy Chief Charles Padgett said. Olson was killed in the crash about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Padgett said Olson knew his mother had been hit, but he wasn't sure if Olson knew she had died. "It's emotional. We want to get there fast and sometimes disregard our safety,'' Padgett said. "I use it to remind people that regardless of the circumstances, be aware of the speed.'' The driver of the car OIson was riding in was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He and two other passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.Moore was hit as she lay prone in the street. The witness did not realize that it was a person until getting closer, the report said. Padgett said Moore had been drinking before she was hit, but it's not clear how much.
