Current theories of the causes
and impact of global warming have been thrown into question by a new
study which shows that during medieval times the whole of the planet
heated up.It then cooled down naturally and there was even a 'mini ice age'.

A team of scientists led by geochemist Zunli Lu from Syracuse University
in New York state, has found that contrary to the 'consensus', the
'Medieval Warm Period' approximately 500 to 1,000 years ago wasn't just
confined to Europe.In
fact, it extended all the way down to Antarctica - which means that the
Earth has already experience global warming without the aid of human CO2
emissions.

Cold facts: Antarctica actually warmed up during medieval times, contrary to what climate scientists believe

At present the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) argues that the Medieval Warm Period was
confined to Europe - therefore that the warming we're experiencing now
is a man-made phenomenon.

However, Professor Lu has
shown that this isn't true - and the evidence lies with a rare mineral
called ikaite, which forms in cold waters.'Ikaite
is an icy version of limestone,' said Lu. 'The crystals are only stable
under cold conditions and actually melt at room temperature.'It
turns out the water that holds the crystal structure together - called
the hydration water - traps information about temperatures present when
the crystals formed. This finding by Lu's research team establishes, for the first time, ikaite as a reliable way to study past climate conditions.

Evidence that the Earth heated up over a 1,000 years ago was found in a rare mineral called ikaite

The scientists studied ikaite crystals
from sediment cores drilled off the coast of Antarctica. The sediment
layers were deposited over 2,000 years. The
scientists were particularly interested in crystals found in layers
deposited during the 'Little Ice Age,' approximately 300 to 500 years
ago, and during the Medieval Warm Period before it.
Both
climate events have been documented in Northern Europe, but studies
have been inconclusive as to whether the conditions in Northern Europe
extended to Antarctica.Lu's team found that in fact, they did.

They were able to deduce this by studying the amount of heavy oxygen isotopes found in the crystals.

During cool periods there are lots, during warm periods there aren't.

'We
showed that the Northern European climate events influenced climate
conditions in Antarctica,' Lu says. 'More importantly, we are extremely
happy to figure out how to get a climate signal out of this peculiar
mineral. A new proxy is always welcome when studying past climate
changes.'The research was
recently published online in the journal Earth And Planetary Science
Letters and will appear in print on April 1.

POSTMAN CLAIM; Ayers family put 'foreigner' Obama through school...

CHICAGO - Did the parents of former Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers help finance Barack Obama's Harvard education?

Did Ayers' mother believe Obama was a foreign student?

And was the young Obama convinced at the time - long before he even
entered politics - that he was going to become president of the United
States?
A retired U.S. Postal Service carrier who delivered mail to Tom and
Mary Ayers in a Chicago suburb in the late 1980s and early 1990s and
claims to have met Obama in front of the Ayers home emphatically says
yes to all three questions.
Allen Hulton, who was commended for 39 years of honorable service with the USPS, has given a sworn affidavit
to investigators commissioned by Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe
Arpaio to determine whether Obama is eligible for Arizona's 2012
election ballot. Hulton has recorded about three hours of video
interviews with WND.
Hulton says that in conversations with Mary Ayers while on his route
he learned of the couple's enthusiasm and support for a black foreign
student. One bright, warm Chicagoland day, he recounts, he met the
student who fit Mary Ayers' description in front of the Ayers home in
Glen Ellyn, Ill. That young man, Hulton is convinced, was Barack Obama.
Hulton delivered mail to the Ayers, who are both deceased, when he
was stationed at the post office in Glen Ellyn, an upper-middle class
suburb 25 miles west of downtown Chicago, from late 1986 to 1997. He was
a USPS employee from March 28, 1962, through March 30, 2001. (Editor's
note: Although the Ayers family no longer lives there, WND is
withholding the Glen Ellyn street address for the sake of the current
residents' privacy.)
"It was a beautiful neighborhood - one of the nicer routes any of the
letter carriers would have liked to have had," Hulton recalls. "It had
some large and very beautiful homes."
As WND reported yesterday ,
Obama's relationship with Bill Ayers - whom he dismissed in a 2008
debate as "just a guy who lives in my neighborhood" - plagued him in the
2008 presidential campaign and could resurface in this year's election,
as many questions remain.
Young Obama

Over a period of years in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Hulton
estimates he spoke with Mary Ayers about 18 to 20 times and once to Tom
Ayers, who died in 2007. Mary Ayers died in 2000.
"Sometimes Mary would be out when I delivered the mail, and we would
exchange a few words on occasion," he says, recalling that she liked to
talk about her family.
"One day, Mary came to the door when I came up to the house with the
mail," he remembers. "After a greeting, she started enthusiastically
talking to me about this young black student they were helping out, and
she referred to him as a foreign student."
Hulton assumed that by "helping" the student, Mary Ayers meant she
and her husband were financially supporting the black foreign-exchange
student with his education.
See excerpts of Jerome Corsi's interviews with Allen Hulton:

He says that Mary Ayers told him the student's name, but that it was a
"strange name" that he could not remember, even though at the time it
sounded African to him.
"I was taken aback by how enthusiastic she was about him," Hulton
says. "And I believe she said he was from either Kenya or Indonesia, and
I favor Indonesia in my recollection."
WND has reported
that when Obama was in Indonesia with his Indonesian stepfather and his
mother from ages 6 to10, he was registered in school as an Indonesian
citizen and a Muslim. He went by the name Barry Soetoro, adopting the
surname of his Indonesian stepfather. His mother's passport listed him
with the surname Soebarkah.
Obama refuses to waive privacy rights that would allow the Hawaii
Department of Health to release any adoption records that may exist for
him.
NOTE: In case you missed the news conference of Sheriff Joe Arpaio's "Cold Case Posse," you can view it here .

Even should Obama waive privacy rights, the Hawaii Department of
Health might not feel compelled to release any adoption records that may
exist. Tight restrictions to vital records have been enacted by the
Hawaii State Legislature to seal any public documents pertaining to
Obama's birth records and his adoption status.
If Obama were adopted by his Indonesian stepfather, he may have
compromised his eligibility to be president, according to Article 2,
Section 1 of the Constitution, which requires that a president be a
"natural-born citizen," which experts say means having both parents be
U.S. citizens.
'I'm going to be president of the United States'

About a year after discussing with Mary Ayers the foreign student she
and her husband were supporting, Hulton recalls meeting a young black
male on the sidewalk in front of the Ayers home.
Hulton describes the man as being in his early 20s, noting that he
was tall, thin, had a light complexion and that his ears stuck out.
"He greeted me," Hulton says. "He was very polite, dressed nicely,
but informally - slacks and a dress shirt - and he spoke with no accent.
Immediately this young black man entered into conversation with me. He
told me he had taken the train out from Chicago and had come to thank
the Ayers family personally for having helped him with his education."
Hulton remembers asking the young man what his plans were for the future.

"He looked right at me and told me he was going to be president of the United States," Hulton says.

"There was a little bit of a grin on his face when he said it - he
sounded sure of himself, but not arrogant. I know how people will say
things because they have an ambition, but it did not come across that
way," Hulton says. "It came across as if this young black male was
telling me he was going to be president, almost as if it were the
statement of a scientific fact that had already been determined, as if
his being president had been already pre-arranged."
Hulton says the claim made him speechless.

"I kind of stuttered a response and said that nowadays anything is possible. I wished him good luck with his ambition," he says.

Immediately, Hulton associated the young black man with the foreign
student Mary Ayers had mentioned to him so enthusiastically about a year
earlier.
"I remembered the conversation I had with Mary, and I associated this
young man with the foreign student she had discussed with me, because
Mary said they were supporting this foreign student, and the young black
man I met outside the Ayers' home said he had come to Glen Ellyn to
thank the Ayers in person for helping him with his education."
During the 2008 presidential campaign, Hulton observed several news
reports detailing the relationship between Obama and Bill Ayers, and he
recalled the encounter with the young man in front of Tom and Mary
Ayers' home.
"The facial and physical characteristics, as well as candidate
Obama's voice, matched that of the young black male I met in front of
the Ayers' home," Hulton says in the affidavit he signed Nov. 12, 2011,
for Sheriff Arpaio's Cold Case Posse investigation.
"I am positive that the black male I spoke with in front of the Ayers' house that day was indeed a young Barack Obama."

Hulton distinctly recalls that the day he met Obama in front of the
Ayers' residence was a warm, sunny day and that Obama wasn't wearing a
jacket.
 Marxist

Hulton recalls that he had one conversation with Tom Ayers, who was
retired as CEO and chairman of Commonwealth Edison, shortly after the
Ayers family moved into their home in Glen Ellyn.
"He asked me how I liked my job, and he started into what seemed to
me a Marxist viewpoint on what it is like for the working man, trying to
convince me that working people like me were exploited by their
employers," Hulton remembers of the conversation.
"As an American citizen, I appreciated everything I had, and I was
not at war with people who had more than I had," he says. "It surprised
me to hear somebody who had been president of Consolidated Edison
talking in these terms."
Hulton says he got the feeling that Tom Ayers thought he knew more about the plight of the workingman and than he did.

Summer 1989

A likely timeframe for Hulton's alleged encounter with Obama is the
summer of 1989, when Obama was an intern at the Chicago law firm Sidley
Austin, after his first year at Harvard Law School.
Hulton says Obama mentioned to him taking the train. The Metra, a
commuter from downtown Chicago, stops at a Glen Ellyn station a little
more than a mile from the Ayers' residence.
Michelle Robinson, Obama's wife-to-be, was the attorney at the firm assigned to mentor Obama in the summer of 1989 .

Bernardine Dohrn also had worked as a paralegal at Sidley Austin,
from 1984 through 1988. Dohrn's 1960s radical activities as a
self-described "revolutionary communist" landed her on the FBI's list of
10 most wanted fugitives, and because of her felony conviction, she was
not allowed to take the Illinois bar exam.
Widely speculated in Chicago is that Dohrn got the job at Sidley
Austin through the influence of her father-in-law, Thomas Ayers, who was
one of the law firm's biggest clients.
Michelle Obama started at the firm in the summer of 1988 and remained there until 1991.

Hulton recalls meeting Dohrn at the home of her in-laws, although his
encounters with her were limited to having Dohrn sign for mail
addressed to her.
First reported in 2009

Hulton's account of meeting Obama in suburban Chicago was first
reported by California lawyer and political scientist Stephen Diamond in
September 2009.
Writing on his blog , Diamond reported that he had interviewed Hulton at length and considered his account credible.

"The statement by Hulton is the first eyewitness account of a
possible relationship between Obama and Tom Ayers and the first that
dates his relationship with the Ayers family to the mid-1980s," Diamond
wrote.
As early as Oct. 13, 2008, prior to the November 2008 presidential election, Diamond had reported that Obama's relationship with the Ayers family dated back to 1988 .
At that time, Obama, as head of the Developing Communities Project,
joined the Alliance for Better Chicago Schools, the ABCs Coalition. The
lobbying alliance aimed to push through Chicago public schools the
creation of "Local School Councils," or LSCs, to oversee teachers and
administrators.
"The proposal was very controversial, and groups like Operation PUSH
headed by Jesse Jackson did not support it, because many teachers were
black - it was one of the first stable middle class careers a black
person, and black women in particular, could aspire to in Chicago,"
Diamond wrote.
Tom Ayers and Bill Ayers were strong supporters of the LSCs, however,
according to Diamond, and Chicago United, a group founded by Tom Ayers,
joined ABCs too. Bill Ayers became chairman of ABCs.
Knew Ayers' brother

Hulton was in the same class as Tim Ayers, Bill Ayers' brother, at
Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn. Although he did not know Bill Ayers,
Hulton thought he might have met him at the parents' home once or
twice, but he could not say for certain.
Hulton attended Glenbard, now known as Glenbard West, for four years,
but did not have enough credits to graduate. He later earned a GED
while in military service. Taking leave from the USPS when he was
drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965, Hulton returned to work as a mailman
following his honorable discharge in 1967.
While in the Army, he was assigned to a Pershing Ballistics Missile
unit in Germany. Although the Vietnam War was being fought at the time,
he was never assigned to Vietnam.
Read the preliminary findings of Sheriff Arpaio's Cold Case Posse investigation.

refutation of davids blog, greatest heist of the century, federal reserve

There is a lot of talk around liveleak right now about the "dragon family", bank heist, insider trading and conspiracies involving the Federal Reserve. This is becoming popular among conspirators thanks to a blog called "Davids Blog" in which David speaks of a lawsuit filed in New York City regarding $134.5 billion in Federal Reserve notes dating back to the 1930's. These notes were seized when two Japanese men tried crossing from Italy into Switzerland. The lawsuit is real and has been filed.

The blog goes on to speak of a one trillion dollar conspiracy amongst banks across the world.
"An American expatriate in Bulgaria claims the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, the Office of International Treasury Control and the Italian government conspired with a host of others to steal more than $1.1 trillion in financial instruments intended to support humanitarian
purposes."(1)

But there are a few problems with these claims. The Federal Reserve since 2005 has confirmed a scam involving so called " 1930's notes and bonds." These bonds are usually dated to 1934 and are denominations of 100 million or 500 million dollars. The Federal Reserve says the possessors of the notes claim they are newly discovered notes and bonds that are not known to the public.

Ironically Davids Blog started claiming this in 2011, after the Federal Reserve six years earlier already said it was a scam. And again, ironically, Davids Blog claims these notes and bonds to be from 1934, in denominations of 100 million and 500 million, and apart of a secret deal China made with the US to store Chinese gold in the US so that Japan would get their hands on it. In return the US was said to give China notes and bonds.(side note; largest denomination printed in 1934 by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing was the $100,000.00 series)

And about the $1.1 trillion in financial instruments intended to support humanitarian purposes, no such organization exist. The Federal Reserve expands on this. "For more than a decade, the Federal Reserve has been warning the public
about fraudulent investment schemes that go by various names, but
generically are known as High Yield Investment Programs (also known as
"Private Placement Programs," "Capital Enhancement Programs," "Riskless
Principal Trading Programs," "Federal Reserve Trading Programs" or "Bank
Debenture Trading Programs"). These schemes continue to be used to
target innocent investors. The programs purport to be highly secretive,
but the marketer of the fraud scheme claims to have connections to the
Federal Reserve or some other internationally renowned organization such
as the United Nations, the IMF or the World Bank."(2)

"The fraudsters market these schemes to investors in a number of ways,
often describing overly complex and nonsensical transactions.
Specifically, the fraudsters have been known to use some or all of the
following false claims or descriptions in an attempt to enhance the
credibility of the scam: (a)The Federal Reserve controls the issuance and distribution of the
Medium-Term Notes or High Yield Investments offered-often as a means of
controlling the monetary supply, or to enhance the economy of the United
States. .(b)The Federal Reserve uses this system to fund humanitarian/infrastructure
or religious projects, with 50-80% of profits supposed to go to those
projects (often claiming that the Federal Reserve has to approve the
humanitarian project). The remaining percentage of profits can be
retained by the investor as return on investment."(2)

This refutation expands much further than what I have covered. If it interest you or you have read Davids Blog then please do some more research on it, for most of what he claims is false.

And by the way.... If any of you are wondering who David Wilcock is, he believes he is the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce. Edgar Cayce was pretty big in his day for predictions and stuff of the sort, but from what I have researched David Wilcock has not been correct on any of his predictions.

Formerly secret telexes offer window into Iran's nuclear deceit

Formerly secret telexes offer window into Iran's nuclear deceit

By Joby Warrick , Published: February 22

Updated: Thursday, February 23, 6:59 AM

The reason for the unusual purchase - 220 pounds of highly caustic
fluorine gas - was never explained, but someone at Iran's Sharif
University was clearly anxious to collect. For months, the mysterious
buyer bombarded a British supply company with telexes, demanding to know
when his 45 canisters would arrive.
"We have not received your reply," complained one telex ,
sent from the Tehran school's purchasing department and written partly
in broken English. "We are awaiting for hearing from you as soon as
possible."But the telex, sent in 1992 and made public here for
the first time, was not what it seemed. The real purchaser was not a
university but a secretive research institute working for Iran's
military. The fluorine gas, investigators later concluded, was to be
blended with uranium in a nuclear program that would remain hidden for
10 more years. The document is part a trove of 1,600 formerly secret telexes obtained by nuclear researchers
seeking to unearth the early history of Iran's clandestine pursuit of
nuclear technology. While nearly two decades old, the records offer an
unusually detailed glimpse into Iran's alleged efforts to defy sanctions
to obtain sensitive technology - tactics that intelligence officials
say continue even now.Experts who studied the documents say they
were struck by patterns of behavior that began early in the program and
involved some of the same individuals who run the country's nuclear
efforts today, under the oversight of the same supreme leader, Ayatollah
Ali Khamenei, who came to power in 1989. The telexes and other records
show Iranians using subterfuge and deception to obtain the parts they
needed, and afterward issuing vigorous denials to U.N. nuclear
officials, even when confronted with evidence."They stick with absolutist lines, and it makes it harder to trust them," said David Albright ,
a former U.N. nuclear inspector who obtained the documents and provided
a sampling of several dozen copies to The Washington Post. Iran's
history of concealment and deceit has become more relevant now because
of concerns that it is nearing a critical phase in its ability to
develop an atomic bomb. Although the government has consistently denied
ever seeking nuclear weapons, inspectors have struggled to understand
why the Iranians have sought to hide their activities if their nuclear
program is, as they contend, solely for peaceful energy production. A team of technical experts from the the International Atomic Energy Agency
traveled to Iran this week to pressure Iranian officials to come clean
about past nuclear activities, including alleged research on building
nuclear warheads. But the trip ended in failure , with IAEA officials being barred from a key military testing facility. Iran
has repeatedly dismissed suspicious documents about past nuclear work
as forgeries. State-backed news media have compared the allegations
about an arms program to the unfounded suspicions that Iraq had obtained
nuclear weapons before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.The documents obtained by the nuclear researchers are similar to telexes seen by inspectors, according to Olli Heinonen ,
who served as the IAEA's nuclear safeguards chief until 2005. Heinonen
said inspection attempts have faced not only evasive answers but also
increased levels of official obstruction."Deceit and deception have been a regrettable part of the process," he said.

The
telexes, which cover a period from the late 1980s through the early
1990s, come from a time when Iran was first beginning in earnest to
assemble and test components for a uranium enrichment plant. By then,
Iranian leaders were already committed to expanding the ambitious
nuclear program begun under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and accelerated
near the end of the country's disastrous, eight-year war with Iraq.
Iranian officials obtained blueprints for gas centrifuges - the
machines used to make enriched uranium - from Pakistani scientist Abdul
Qadeer Khan, and then set about secretly acquiring the equipment they
needed from Western companies.Intelligence agencies routinely
intercepted the orders and analyzed them for clues to Iran's true
intentions. Hundreds of the documents were quietly shared among
governments as well as with IAEA officials who had access to Iranian
facilities and could directly confront Iranian leaders about the
purchases. Albright, the nuclear expert, said a Western source provided a
large trove of the telexes to his organization, the Institute for
Science and International Security, which collects and analyzes data
about nuclear weapons programs. An analysis of the telexes by
ISIS highlights the hidden role played by Iran's Physics Research
Center, or PHRC, a now-defunct institute that served as a scientific arm
of Iran's military. U.S. intelligence officials believe the PHRC drove
Iran's secret nuclear research program during its first decade, after
which its responsibilities were divided among other institutions. In
2004, when U.N. inspectors asked to visit the PHRC's former
headquarters, Iranian officials razed the building and even scraped away
the topsoil around the front lawn. The telexes confirm what IAEA
officials believe was a lavish, global shopping spree that continued
throughout the 1990s and beyond. Besides the fluorine gas, Iranian
officials ordered mass spectrometers ,
crucial for analyzing the enrichment level of uranium hexafluoride gas,
as well as highly specialized types of motors, pumps, valves and
transducers used in manufacturing gas centrifuges."The fact that
so many items are of the type used in centrifuges, and organized under
one specific heading, stands out in the data," ISIS said in a report analyzing the documents.Privately,
Iranian leaders have responded to evidence of duplicity and deceit by
blaming the West, saying the United States and its allies unfairly
sought to block Iran from its rightful pursuit of nuclear technology,
said George Perkovich, a nuclear expert who has met with senior Iranian
officials responsible for the country's nuclear policy."The only
way they could get what they need is to keep things secret and use
duplicity," said Perkovich, director of the nuclear policy program at
the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. The Iranian view, he
said, is "if we didn't use these tricks, we wouldn't get the technology
we needed, and to which we have a right." Many of the telexes
were ostensibly orders from Sharif University of Technology, a
prestigious school in the Iranian capital. Yet, the fax number and post
office box on the return address belonged to the PHRC, ISIS said in its
analysis. An Iranian scientist who headed the military research center,
Abbas Shahmoradi-Zavareh, also kept an office at Sharif University. The
president of Sharif University at the time was Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran's
current foreign minister and the one-time head of the Atomic Energy
Organization of Iran. One series of telexes that apparently
raised eyebrows at spy agencies involved an attempt by Iran to obtain
tens of thousands of highly specialized magnets
used in gas centrifuges. Fearing perhaps that some of its efforts would
be thwarted, Iranian officials sent requests to multiple companies at
once, asking for as many as 30,000 magnets made from unusual alloys and
cut to precise dimensions."Snd us a few samples for testing," one
order, written in the typical abbreviated English used by telex
operators, began. "We are looking forward to yr early rply."It is
clear from telex exchanges that many of the orders were filled, though
in some cases the Iranians were turned down when European company
managers became suspicious that the purchase was intended for a nuclear
program. Some of the recipients of telexes forwarded the requests
to their governments; others who sold goods to Iran would later contend
that they were unaware of Iran's true plans for the materials. Many
items sought by Iran were considered "dual-use" - having both military
and peaceful applications - and were not banned at the time. One
official for a German manufacturer of mass spectrometers warned the
Iranians in a telex to be careful, saying he could get in trouble if
government regulators suspected the parts had a nuclear purpose."The purchaser can appear only to be a civilian institution, not military or government," he cautioned.

The
request for fluorine gas was also turned aside, at least temporarily.
In February 1992, the British firm that had so frustrated the Iranians
with its slow response finally wrote to say that the fluorine canisters
would not be shipped. The British government's export office had denied
an export license for the gas, a company official explained. "As
you will appreciate, this decision was outside our control," the telex
read. "We look forward to being of assistance on the future supply of
other materials."

Britain had to plead with US to take part in Iran flotilla

Britain was forced to plead with the US to take part in the flotilla
challenging Iranian power in the Gulf after American commanders decided the
Royal Navy had nothing to contribute to the mission.

Defence sources have revealed that the Americans only relented and allowed a
Royal Navy frigate to join the mission following an intervention from
 Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president.

The revelation that US defence chiefs saw little military value in UK
participation will raise new questions about Britain's international clout
 after Coalition defence cuts.

Amid rising tensions in the region, the Royal Navy last month deployed HMS
Argyll, a Type 23 frigate, to the Gulf.

The ship accompanied a US carrier strike group made up of an aircraft carrier
with a full complement of fighters, a heavy cruiser and several destroyers.

A French frigate, the La Motte-Picquet, was also part of the flotilla which
sailed through the Straits of Hormuz. Iran has staged wargames in the area
and threatened to block the straits, a vital supply route for oil exports.

The US also has another carrier strike group in the Gulf and a third heading
 for the region.

The disparity in vessel numbers means the British and French presence in the
flotilla was of greater diplomatic than military significance.

The question of allied participation in the naval operation is understood to
have triggered concern in Whitehall and led to a sudden shift in Britain's
 stance.

British ministers initially signalled they would accept the Washington's
conclusion that did not need allies to take part.

But the British position changed after Mr Sazkozy insisted to the US that a
French warship must be present in the flotilla.

Sources said that Philip Hammond, the defence secretary, concluded that if the
French were sending a ship, Britain must do so too. His decision to was
then endorsed by David Cameron, the Prime Minister.

Failing to take part when the French were doing so might have raised questions

about the Special Relationship, which has come under doubt during Barack
Obama's presidency. Mr Obama last year described France as America's
 closest ally.

A diplomatic source revealed that US commanders originally planned for an
all-American naval operation, any only relented after protests from European
 leaders.

The source said: "The Americans originally planned to do it alone. They were
clear that they saw no military advantage in having European ships taking
 part.

But after the President insisted that France had to be represented, ministers
decided that "Britain must participate too, regardless of the military
 importance."

The source described the approach of France and Britain as "classic
willy-waving", accusing the two countries of posturing to conceal their
military irrelevance to the confrontation with Iran.

A Whitehall confirmed the sequence of events and described the international
negotiations over the flotilla as "humiliating" for Britain.

After the French intervention, the UK Government "was basically forced to
plead with Washington for the Navy to be allowed to tag along. " said the
 source.

The Dynamic Duo- Ricky Perry and Marco Rubio

The Dynamic Duo Obama has much to fear from a job creator like Rick Perry. Add to the GOP ticket the articulate Marco Rubio, and our president will be shaking in his designer shoes. He may actually have to pay for Michelle's expensive vacations himself.

Read from the American Thinker :

The Ticket Obama Fears Most
By Bruce Walker

"The talking heads on Fox News Special Report this Friday concurred that Marco Rubio will be on the Republican ticket next year as the vice presidential nominee . I agree. There is virtually no downside to Rubio and the advantages to the ticket are prohibitive. He is youthful, attractive, and articulate. Rubio won a tough three-way race in Florida last year. His life story is compelling as the child of Cuban parents who worked up the hard and legal way. His conservatism on social and economic issues is unwavering. Rubio is slightly too young and inexperienced to run as president, but eight years as vice president would make him ideal presidential timber.

If Senator Rubio becomes the running mate of Governor Perry, which I believe is increasingly likely, President Obama could face his worst electoral nightmare . At the outset, both men are excellent campaigners -- articulate, likeable, attractive, and accustomed to winning elections in the diverse and large populations of Texas and Florida. Unlike Republican nominees since Reagan, Rick Perry knows how to work crowds. Perry, like Rubio, has never lost a political race. Although it is a relatively small section of his resume, his time successfully selling Bible reference books door-to-door may be as important as background in running for president.

Both Perry and Rubio have life stories which demonstrate that the American Dream really works. Perry grew up on a cotton tenant farm in the middle of nowhere and worked hard up every step in his path to success. Rubio's parents worked in menial jobs so that their son could have a better life. Imagine Rubio campaigning in Las Vegas, where his parents worked like so many Hispanics today, cleaning rooms and tending bars. The greatest impact of these life stories is that the Republican ticket could say just how poor people need not stay poor if government gets out of the way .

Perry and Rubio are both social and economic conservatives . The left tries to downplay the appeal of social conservatism, but to take just a single social conservative issue, abortion, the latest Rasmussen Poll shows that 55% of Americans believe that abortion is morally wrong while only 30% believe that abortion is morally acceptable and 41% of Americans believe that it is too easy to get an abortion in America while only 14% believe that it is too hard to get an abortion. The vanilla question about whether Americans are 'pro-choice' or 'pro-life' is meaningless, if Republican candidates have the gumption to ask Obama in a debate whether he believes abortion is moral or immoral -- leaving the question of federal policy on abortion aside.

This particular ticket would also have profound appeal to Hispanic voters , whose support for Obama has dropped a dramatic 36 points since he took office. The impact of Rubio on the ticket, of course, is obvious: he would be the first Hispanic on a major party ticket in American history . Big chunks of Hispanic voters in 2008 voted for Obama because he was a 'person of color.' Reelecting a black man president has much less psychological value to Hispanic voters than electing a Hispanic who could easily be president in eight years.

The impact of Rick Perry is real, but underestimated by Beltway punditry, which listens more to high ranking Hispanic organizational leaders rather than ordinary Hispanics. Perry has won many statewide elections in Texas, including three as governor. Almost 40% of the state is Hispanic . Governor Perry speaks Spanish , but more than that, just as a New York City or Chicago politicians grasp the nuances of European ethnic differences, so Perry understands the largely Mexican-American minority and has steadily improved his percentage of the Hispanic vote in Texas elections .

A politically savvy Perry with the first Hispanic on a national ticket as his running mate could disarm the traditional skittishness that some Hispanics have had about voting Republican. Combine that with the very real success that Perry has had in creating jobs in Texas -- compared with Obama nationally or California Democrats -- and he could make a strong argument that Perry-Rubio is precisely what most Hispanics really want in Washington .

This could be complemented by the rise of Hispanic Republicans in 2010. Susana Martinez, the conservative Republican governor of New Mexico, next door to Texas, is a prime example. The first female Hispanic governor in American history could travel throughout the Rocky Mountain region touting a Perry-Rubio ticket. It is not just Hispanic 'people of color' that could connect with Hispanics. Bobby Jindal and Nikki Haley, both articulate and strongly Republican governors could both show the legal immigrants from lands as distant as India are welcomed by conservatives.

Black voters will go overwhelmingly for Obama, but black voters vote overwhelmingly for Democrats no matter what Republicans have tried. If Hispanic voters, already accustomed to conservative Republicans senators and governors, vote in substantial numbers for conservative Republicans at the national level, then not only is Obama in trouble, but so is his party. That is why Perry-Rubio could be the ticket Democrats fear most ."

Gadafy daughter who 'died' in 1986 alive

The adopted daughter of Muammar Gadafy, whom he claimed died as an infant in the 1986 US bombing of his Tripoli compound, appears to be alive and worked as a doctor in the Libyan capital, documents discovered by The Irish Times indicate.
A room belonging to Hana Muammar Gadafy in the section of the Bab al-Azizia compound where the Gadafy family lived contained several documents that appear to indicate she grew up to study medicine in Tripoli and took English classes at the British Council in the Libyan capital.
Many Libyans have long doubted the story of Hana's death, which Gadafy used to bolster the notion that he was a victim of western military aggression.
Among the items discovered by The Irish Times yesterday are an examination paper from a Libyan university medical faculty signed "Hana Muammar Gadafy" in Arabic, and photographs of Hana including one showing her with Gadafy's blood daughter Aisha. A British Council certificate, dated July 19th, 2007, showed that Hana Muammar Gadafy had achieved an overall A grade in an English language course there.
In February, a German newspaper obtained a copy of a document related to the freezing of Muammar Gadafy's assets in Switzerland after Libya's uprising began. The document listed 23 members of the Gadafy clan, including Hana, whose date of birth is given as November 11th, 1985, making her six months old at the time of the US air strike.
The Libyan rebels have managed to hold the Bab al-Azizia complex, which they first stormed earlier this week, despite intermittent bombardment and sniper fire from forces loyal to Gadafy.
Yesterday rebel fighters and curious onlookers swarmed the complex. At the residential building bombed by the US in 1986, and preserved since in that state by Gadafy, the rebels' green, red and black flag flew next to the Qatari flag. In front, a sculpture of a golden fist crushing an American fighter jet, commissioned years ago by Gadafy, was spray-painted with the rebels' colours. In recent months, Gadafy had used the balcony of the building to make defiant speeches against the Nato-led intervention.
Picking his way through the ramshackle building, where Gadafy had displayed the twisted metal fragments of the 1986 missiles to acolytes, Dr Jalal Suweib marvelled at the fact he could look around a place long forbidden to all but guests of the regime. "Like everything at the moment, it seems like a dream," said the young medic, who spent the last six months treating the injured on the frontline in his hometown of Misrata. "We are tasting freedom after years in darkness."

US military to launch fastest-ever plane

By the time you finish reading this sentence, the Falcon HTV-2, the fastest plane ever built, could have flown 18 miles. It would get from London to Sydney in less than an hour, while withstanding temperatures of almost 2,000C, hotter than the melting point of steel.
At 3pm BST on Thursday , the US Defence Advance Research Projects Agency will launch the Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 on the back of a rocket from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. If all goes to plan, engineers will launch the Falcon HTV-2 to the edge of space, before detaching the plane and guiding it on a hypersonic flight that will reach speeds of 13,000mph (about 20 times the speed of sound) on its return to Earth.
The Falcon started life in 2003, part of a US military research project to build a plane that could reach (and potentially deliver bombs to) any part of the world in less than an hour.
The plane has been tested in computer models and wind tunnels, but they can only simulate speeds up to Mach 15 (11,400mph). A real test is the only way to determine if the plane will remain flying at high speeds.
Thursday's flight will also test the carbon composite materials designed to withstand the extreme temperatures the plane will experience on its skin and also the navigation systems that will control its trajectory as it moves at almost four miles per second.
The design and flight pattern of the plane has been tweaked since an aborted test flight in April last year. Nine minutes into that mission, which succeeded in flying for 139 seconds at Mach 22 (16,700mph), the onboard computer detected an anomaly and ordered the plane to ditch into the ocean for safety reasons.
Unlike most other rocket launches, this one will not be shown live online, though it will be possible to follow the plane's progress via tweets from @DARPA_News .
