Pizza Delivery to Afghanistan Troops Set Guinness Record

By Susanna Kim
ABC News Blogs A pizza mission to U.S. military service members in Afghanistan has made the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest pizza delivery. The non-profit, Pizza 4 Patriots , a 501(c)3 registered non-profit based in Illinois, has been sending pizzas to military service members abroad for the last five years.

Last summer, Pizza 4 Patriots and shipping company DHL organized their biggest delivery yet: 30,000 pizzas to service members in Kandahar, Bagram and Camp Bastion in Afghanistan in celebration of Independence Day. The delivery began June 21, 2012. DHL donated its services (pictured above) and loaded the pizza shipments at a service center in Chicago.

Ian Clough, CEO of DHL Express U.S., said he was grateful to Pizza 4 Patriots and proud of DHL's "dedicated employees."

"Feedback from U.S. troops who received the care packages has been heartwarming as they truly appreciate the recognition for their valuable service," Clough said in a statement.

Mark Evans, the retired Air Force master sergeant who started Pizza 4 Patriots, said he has been working with Guinness since last summer for the record. After the necessary affidavits from witnesses were on record, Guinness officially recognized the delivery in April and notified Evans this month.

Evans said he is "completely pleased and overwhelmed."

"The world record is secondary to taking care of our soldiers and sending them a slice of home," Evans said.

The 12-inch pizzas were made by Great Kitchens, Inc. in Illinois with some donated ingredients and funded by various donors.

Earlier this year, Pizza 4 Patriots sent 21,000 pizzas to military members serving abroad during the Super Bowl. Next up, Evans is raising enough money to send 25,000 pizzas to troops across the world for this Independence Day.

New York Gun Confiscation Underway - Citizens Told To turn in Pistol Owner ID and Firearms

Manasquan, NJ - -(Ammoland.com)- Remember all those who denied that firearms confiscation as a result of New York's new gun laws was too " insane " to even consider?

That it was strictly in the realm of paranoid conspiracy theorists and the "it cant happen here crowd" ?

Those were and remain some of the standard replies to anyone who even thought about the possibility, let alone gave voice to it, despite the fact that Gov Cuomo and numerous other officials made public comments about such a plan, as I discussed in my article "Feinstein & Cuomo Admit Planning Australian Style Government Gun Buy Back" .

Elected Officials, the media, various Gun Control Groups and their zealous forced disarmament supporters, even some firearms owners themselves all insisted it was to crazy to even consider.

There's just one huge problem it is happening now in New York State!
It seems those that tried desperately to warn of such an insidious plot had hit the bullseye with their warnings after all. News came from multiple NY State based firearms enthusiast websites late Friday that confiscations of Pistol Owner ID Cards, as well as firearms and accessories has commenced in NY under the provisions of the horribly flawed, draconian and blatantly unconstitutional NY SAFE Act.

Those folks having their weapons and FID cards confiscated have been discovered to have been prescribed multiple different types of psychotropic drugs, such as those for Depression or Anxiety. These are known as SSRI ( Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) class drugs and have the potential to cause serious and adverse side effects, something I wrote about extensively last week in an article that went viral in days and caused multiple Anti Gun and Progressive News Groups to initiate a concentrated denial of service hacker attack against Ammoland Shooting Sports News (see Daily KOS " Keeping Track Of The RKBA Crowd"http://tiny.cc/ug67uw), in an effort to keep the information from the public.

From NY http://tiny.cc/nyfirearms

"John Doe, an upstanding professional with no outstanding criminal convictions and no history of violent action received a letter from the Pistol Permit Department informing him that his license was immediately revoked upon information that he was seeing a therapist for anxiety and had been prescribed an anxiety drug. He was never suicidal, never violent, and has no criminal history. The New York State Department of Health is apparently conducting a search of medical records to determine who is being treated for anxiety drugs and using this as a basis for handgun license revocation.

Those are the facts. Nothing more, nothing less.
Now, before anyone trots out the old saw about how this is nothing more then a paranoid, unsubstantiated rumor on a "gun nuts" internet forum. I spoke to the Attorney of Record in this matter on the phone this morning and he confirmed that the above snippet is accurate and these cases are happening !

James Tresmond Esq confirmed in our conversation that the above mentioned case is occurring in Erie County NY, it is his client that has been effected, and as yet unknown sources have seen fit to take it upon themselves to share confidential medical records with NY State Officials without authorization, a massive HIPPA violation.

It seems these supposedly confidential records are then compared against a list of known NY pistol license holders and letters are sent out demanding their Pistol Owner ID Cards be surrendered, as well as any firearms and accessories.

Here is a link to the Attorney of Record on this case, Jim Tresmond, giving a radio interview on the Tom Bauerle Show on WBEN 930AM/107.7 FM:

http://www.wben.com/topic/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&audioId=6319907

This is an unprecedented violation of a Citizens 2nd, 4th, and 5th Amendment RIGHTS , brought to fruition by power and control hungry tyrants holding elected office who swore an Oath to uphold and defend the very rights they are now actively stripping from their constituents.

Moreover, the confiscation efforts underway in NY State have had another, albeit unintended effect. By undertaking this course of action, those in power have inadvertently pulled back the curtain on something they have suppressed from the Citizens for far to long, leaving them with precious little wiggle room to explain away their actions.

Either they are acknowledging that there is in fact some sort of little reported link between the prescribing of psychotropic drugs and violent behavior , thus they are somehow, at least in their own minds " justified " in their actions to preempt someone from violence. Or, this is nothing more then a backdoor confiscation effort and massive abuse of governmental power unleashed on innocent Citizens. Those are the only two possible explanations.

If anyone still feels some level of doubt regarding the veracity of this story, Attorney Tresmond welcomes anyone to visit his website tresmondlaw.com , Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/james.tresmond.7 ), or send an email to TresmondLaw@gmail.com.

An alleged (unverified) radio converation between Hezbollah fighters in Qusayr.

Translation and the quote below from Brown Moses:

"The conversation is among a number of people, with one person apparently
attempting to organise several groups, so this just lists what's being said
without specific individuals named. The men on the radio are referring to each
other by various nicknames, such as Mazloom 12, Mazloom 13, Murtada, etc.

- I have a broken tank, send the maintenance team to Abu Hasan. O
Mazloom, there is a broken tank.
- Kareem, Kareem, I need a stretcher, I have
two casualties.
- Alright brother, just wait a second. Mazloom!
Mazloom!
Who is there? Who is calling for me?
- Come near brother as I
told you. Join me, can you see where I am?
- Abu Ridda, Michael, there are
hundreds of them opposing us. The sniper is firing at me, I am retreating
back.
-Abu Ali .... Mazloom.
- Send us an ambulance please.
-
Alright.
- Abu Yaser ..... Where are you Abu Ali?
- Abu Hasan ......
Slingo.
- Slingo .... We told Mazloom.
- Did you know where I am? Oh man!
You were firing at me a while ago.
Abu Ridda .... Abu Yaser.
I can hear
you. Man! Nobody is getting near, nobody is dares!
- Abu Haidar .....
-
Carbalaa'
- Mazloom! I need tanks. Send me 23 (mm gun) now!
- Luay .... Abu
Hasan. Join me bro! Come here! Where are you? Are you near the cypress
trees?
- Bro! Can you see the tanks column? Go there! Join me!
- I am
firing at the house one B7 (RPG-7).
- Wait while I locate you.
- Look! I
am on the right of the water tank. Can I go forward?
- Where are you
now?
- I am on the right of the water tank.
- Hamza ..... Mazloom! Look out!
Bring the tanks closer and let's get to the mosque, move!
- My tank has
stopped. Call on Mazloom.
- Mazloom ... 13.
- I can hear you bro.
- Abu
Hasan, the sniper there is firing at me and my comrades, I can't get across. Can
you call on one of those guys in order to decide what to do?
- I need someone
from Mazloom's group bring the maintenance team. My tank has stopped in the
street.
-Manzoom! There is wounded comrade here.
- Kaukab! Let Abu Rhidda
tell me where I should go with the ambulance.
- Bro! Those are our comrades.
Nobody fires a shot!
Mazloom 12 .... Mazloom 13!
- Can you call from there?
Nobody hears me while I am here.
- Nobody has answered. Nobody is answering
my calls!
- Abu Rhidda, I will get there under cover of the dushka. Find
those two on the road.
- Cover isn't needed, the road is safe. Come here!
Hurry up!
-Turn to the right when coming here, there is an unpaved road, take
it. Follow the trail of the tank. I removed the shell out of the canon, but I am
not sure if it still works, and I don't know if I should get near you or not.
Where should I fire the shell?
- Fire it a bit to the east, at the houses,
fire it low, not high. Fire it where I fired the first one, but if you fire it
elsewhere it will hurt us.
- I will fire one there.
- If it is still
working, bring it here.
- I can hear you. Where are you?
- The sniper is
blocking my road. I am stuck and he doesn't let me move.
- Tell him where you
are and where you want the paramedics to go.
- Michael! Are the wounded with
you now? Reply please!
- Slingo, can you find the road that we took?
- We
told you many times to send us a vehicle, it's urgent.
- Where should I send
the ambulance, Murtada?
- Ali Hasan, send it to Mujahed if you find him.I am
near him.
- I was under constant fire ... Put it (aim at) behind the water
tank. They are behind the water tank firing at us using B7 (RPG-7).
- Abu
Rhidda, I can't join you though I am not very far away. Oh bro! Our comrades are
being killed by snipers. Where is the stretcher?
- I am against you. There
are causalities lying on the ground. There are another two here.
- What
should we do now?
- Send reinforces here, Abu Hidar is calling.
- Fire two
shells at the houses facing you. Also fire a shell to the west. There are two
snipers on your right, fire at them.
- Abu Hasan's tanks to the east are
firing at us!
- There is a casualty here, he is wounded in his back.
-
There are two wounded there, they are still lying on the ground. Somebody bring
them!
- It's batteries are catching fire!
- I will send the maintenance
team. Just wait a minute.
- Are all those tanks belong to us or just we own
only one?
- There are eight comrades wounded. Go and recover them quickly.
They were ambushed there.
- Abu Ali, come here quickly with the tank!
- He
was wounded in his leg and I was badly wounded.
- Nobody fires! All Mazloom's
men retreat now!
- Guys! There are a lot of casualties there.
- Abu Hasan,
I will send you more troops near the props, just send me a car "

'Dog Father' Retires From Military Service

It is a retirement ceremony like many. The anthem plays over the loudspeaker. Soldiers render honors. A barking of orders, medals pinned and an old Soldier -- unleashed from military service -- begins a new chapter in life. However, the retirement ceremony held, Feb. 1, here on Conn Barracks was different than most. Soldiers and community members from Schweinfurt, Bamberg and Mannheim gathered to honor Lando F620, a military working dog who rose to the rank of sergeant first class and retired from the 94th Military Police Detachment.

"The average lifespan of Lando's breed is 15 years," said Capt. Dane M. Hiltner, commander of the 630th Military Police Company, during remarks delivered at the ceremony. Lando, a 12-year-old Belgian Malinois, has been in military service for the past eight years. "Can you imagine? As humans our average lifespan is maybe 80. So, can you imagine serving the Army for 40 years?"

Lando deployed four times in those eight years. At the ceremony he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for his service to the Army.

"He is the dog father. All the other dogs love him. They won't bark at him," said Staff Sgt. Richard McNulty of the 94th MPD, who has worked with dogs like Lando for four years.

Lando entered the military working dog program in December of 2003 at Lackland Air Force Base, where all military working dogs receive their initial training. He trained as a patrol explosive detection dog in 2005 and was then assigned to the 272nd Military Police Company in Schweinfurt, Germany. He continued his career with the 630th Military Company and finished under the 94th Military Police Detachment.

Lando deployed four times -- once in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, twice for Operation Iraqi Freedom and most recently in support of the Kosovo Force. He had 15 confirmed finds while deployed downrange.

"The biggest achievement that he has done is finding explosives downrange," said McNulty. "There is no way to calculate how he saved lives -- finding the explosives, finding the IEDs, getting them off the route the Soldiers were going."

Lando also provided force protection to the president and vice president of the United States and the secretary of state, said McNulty. But when he wasn't sniffing out bombs and protecting heads of state, Lando was protecting the Bamberg and Schweinfurt military communities working perimeter checks and gate guard.

Military working dogs spend countless hours with their handlers to hone the skills necessary to sniff out drugs or explosives. But now, Lando's golden years are in front of him as he transitions into retirement.

"He gets all excited," said Staff Sgt. Michael S. Bacon, about Lando's work ethic even today. Bacon is the kennel master for the 94th MPD. "He wants to do it even though his body can't really do it for him anymore. Mentally he is like 'let's go, let's do this.'"

One Bamberg family has now decided to adopt him.

At the Feb. 1 ceremony, Capt. Rory Thibault, his wife Johanna and their family received Lando's leash and a certificate of adoption formally certifying Lando's transition out of military service and into doggy retirement.

"When we saw a note on the Bamberg community page about a (military working dog) looking to retire we were intrigued," said Johanna Thibault. "An older and well-trained dog would be a great fit for us. After we met Lando we fell in love and realized he'd be a great fit for our family."

Pet owners can adopt military working dogs once the dogs are removed from service for reasons ranging from medical issues to their own disinterest in sniffing out explosives.

"They want to work," said McNulty about all military working dogs. "They have a drive to work. It takes them a little longer to go to a home and be a pet. Their job is to just be loyal to that family, not search for explosives, not to do bite work anymore. It takes them time to adjust to their new life."

Lando does not have any medical issues. But his new family should be warned.

"He sleeps on his back with his legs up in the air," said Staff Sgt. James A. Hall, the kennel noncommissioned officer in charge, who is familiar with Lando's antics. "It looks like he is playing dead."

Although the Bamberg and Schweinfurt communities will no longer be graced with the 'Dog Father,' his new family already has plans on how Lando will spend the rest of his dog days.

"It's very clear to us that Lando was well loved in the Schweinfurt and Bamberg kennels. He is a people-oriented dog, and we're making sure to include him in everything we do. Be it sitting and watching TV or walking to kindergarten, we're making sure Lando is there with us," said the Thibault family.

Navy dolphin finds 130-year-old torpedo

A Navy dolphin training to look for mines off the coast of San Diego found a museum-worthy 19th-century torpedo on the seafloor, military officials said.

The brass-coated, retro wonder of technology was one of the first self-propelled torpedoes used by the U.S. Navy. Just 50 of these so-called Howell torpedoes were made and only one other example has been recovered; it sits in the Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport, Wash., outside of Seattle.

'Realizing that we were the first people to touch it or be around it in over 125 years was really exciting.'- Christian Harris, operations supervisor for the SSC Pacific Biosciences Division

The 130-year-old, 11-foot-long weapon was discovered back in March during a mine-hunting exercise that the Space and Naval warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) was conducting with bottlenose dolphins.

"Dolphins naturally possess the most sophisticated sonar known to man. They can detect mines and other potentially dangerous objects on the ocean floor that are acoustically difficult targets to detect," operations supervisor Braden Duryee, of the SSC Pacific Biosciences Division, said in a statement.

Dolphins use their natural sonar, called echolocation, to determine the size and shape of underwater objects by sending out a series of clicks that bounce off their targets and boomerang back to them. The marine mammals can be trained to report what they have found to human handlers using certain yes or no responses. Handlers can then investigate what the dolphins find by sending the animals to mark an object's location with a weighted buoy line.

In this case, one of the dolphins indicated to its handler that it had detected a minelike target. The recovery dive team initially thought the dolphin had found an old tail section off an aerial drop mine, according to a statement from SSC Pacific, but officials soon realized they were handling a much rarer artifact.

"It was apparent in the first 15 minutes that this was something that was significant and really old," Christian Harris, operations supervisor for the SSC Pacific Biosciences Division, said in a statement. "Realizing that we were the first people to touch it or be around it in over 125 years was really exciting."

The Howell torpedo had a 132-lb flywheel that would be spun prior to launch. With a warhead filled with 100 lbs of gun cotton, the weapon had a range of 400 yards and could reach speeds of 25 knots, military officials said.

"It was the first torpedo that could be released into the ocean and follow a track," Harris said. "Considering that it was made before electricity was provided to U.S. households, it was pretty sophisticated for its time."

The torpedo is being kept in a tank of water to prevent erosion on its surface. The historical weapon will eventually be shipped to the Naval History and Heritage Command at the Washington Navy Yard.

Navy officials said last year that the U.S. military may begin retiring its dolphins in 2017 in favor of cheaper mine-hunting robots.

Dolphins' amazing sonar ability can be a blessing and a curse for marine mammal-military relations; the animals are acutely vulnerable to high-powered naval sonar used during military tests, and past naval exercises have been linked to dolphin strandings.

Soldiers Pay Tribute to Faithful Working Dog

One of the best memories Spc. Veronica Pruhs has of Military Working Dog Linda is the day they were on patrol and Linda trotted over to a car so she could get a better smell through a window that was open a crack.

Linda indicated there were drugs inside the car, and she was correct. Military Police officers found two grams of marijuana inside the car's center console. "She knew her job and she was really sweet," said Pruhs, who worked with Linda for 10 months.

Pruhs had nothing but fond memories of the 6-year-old German Shepherd after Linda's memorial ceremony at the Clay Kaserne Chapel May 7. She died April 26 due to medical complications from cancer, and had worked as a narcotics detection dog for the 525th Military Working Dog Detachment in Wiesbaden for six years.

About 50 people attended Linda's ceremony, which included a rifle salute from the attachment's honor guard. Chaplain (Maj.) Craig Bickel, deputy U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden chaplain, presided. "Her faith in service is a model for all Soldiers," he said during his benediction. "With heavy hearts in her death, today we want to honor her service."

Sgt. Calvin Aguilar, Linda's most recent handler, also recalled Linda fondly.

"What they say is that you learn something from every dog," Aguilar said. "Linda would teach you a lot. She knew how to play the game. She knew what she needed to do and where she needed to go. She was an extremely easy dog to work with."

Sgt. 1st Class Hardenio Abdon, Wiesbaden's kennel master, said the Quartermaster Corps started the Military Working Dog program during World War II, not long after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

By 1942 nearly 10,000 dogs were trained for the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, Abdon said. In 1951, the program moved to the Military Police Corps.

During the Vietnam War, the U.S. War Dog Association estimates that dogs and their handlers saved more than 10,000 lives, Abdon said. "These war dogs were used as messengers, patrol dogs, scouts, trackers and as sentry dogs," he said.

In 1952, the U.S. Air Force approved formal patrol dog training at Lackland Air Force Base, as part of the Secured Police Dog Training School, and that is where all dogs receive their initial training today, Abdon said.

Linda arrived at Wiesbaden kennels in Jan. 2009, and conducted more than 100 health and welfare operations, Abdon said.

Six dog handlers, who are trained military police officers, and one kennel master are based in Wiesbaden, Abdon said.

During the ceremony, Pruhs removed Linda's collar from the Fallen Warrior Memorial on the chapel's altar and handed it to Aguilar to symbolize the dog's final rest.

Pruhs then read the poem, "The Guardians of the Night," which reads in part, "And when our time together is done/ And you move on in the world/ Remember me with kind thoughts and tales,/ For a time we were unbeatable,/ Nothing passed among us undetected."

Not so secret: Guard medic's band is gaining ground

The secret is getting out.

If you haven't heard The Secret State yet, trust us, you will.

The band was founded by an Army Iraq veteran and two Coast Guard
midshipmen-turned-downrange contractors, and its single "The Biggest Mistake"
has garnered 66 million views since it was first posted on YouTube in September.
The song's official remix, featuring Akon and B.O.B., has tacked on an
additional 26 million hits.
This is from a band still polishing its debut album even while getting ready
for a summer tour that will help raise money for wounded veterans.
"It's all kind of crazy," says drummer Mike Marx-Gibbons, a sergeant in the
Maryland Army National Guard, who describes the band's sound as "the ugly baby
of Coldplay and Linkin Park."
He joined the Army on Sept. 12, 2001, and spent 16 months in Iraq pulling
convoy security duty as a medic just after the invasion. Guitarist Josh Jones
and DJ Danny Espinosa were football players at the Coast Guard Academy. Although
both dropped out before receiving their commissions, they ended up serving in
other ways - as contractors in Afghanistan with special ops and counternarcotics
units, operating mostly out of Kabul.
Clearly, the band members' military backgrounds come out in their music.
Check out their "Say It's Over" single on YouTube and you'll see a story of a
fleshy spouse cheating on her soldier husband.
Their latest song, "Fight or Flight," filmed at the Army's National Training
Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., promises more military action.
While the song hasn't even been released yet, the track's behind-the-scenes,
making-of sneak peek has gotten more than 8 million hits. For the "Fight or
Flight" video, the band shot at multiple locations around Fort Irwin, including
Painted Rocks, where every training rotation leaves its mark with unit patches
painted on massive desert boulders. Combat scenes were shot at "Ertebat Shar,"
NTC's mock Afghanistan village.
The soldiers featured in the video are members the National Training Center's
11th Armored Cavalry Regiment.
Set for release May 14, the "Fight or Flight" video was directed and produced
by former Army reservist Karen Kraft and Alison Savitch, an award-winning visual
effects supervisor and film producer whose credits include "Mortal Kombat," "The
Abyss" and "Terminator 2."
The two-day shoot at NTC was Marx-Gibbons' first time at Fort Irwin. "But I
had heard the horror stories," he says. "So I showed up there to do the video a
little on edge wondering if I'm going to get locked up by whatever NCO or
officer walks by."
Instead, he ended up partying with the troops and base brass like, well, a
rock star. After the first day of shooting, "we all ended up at one of the base
bars. Whenever you mix the Army and a rock band together at a bar, it's a bad
situation," he says with a laugh. "We had a lot of fun. We were doing bear
fights - drinking car bombs and J"ager bombs back-to-back, and then everyone
growls like a bear and yells 'bear fight.' It got a little crazy."

Martiniano, lead vocals and piano; Mike Marx-Gibbons, drums and violin; Josh
Jones, guitar and vocals; Danny Espinosa, digital performer.

Syria: Qusayr Battle Far From Over

Published Wednesday, May 22, 2013

The Syrian army may have made some rapid advances in the battle for the town of Qusayr, but a short visit to the embattled city reveals that the opposition is digging in for a long fight.

No doubt, opposition forces were surprised by the Syrian army's quick sweep into Qusayr. But the battle for the city is not as it is pictured in the media. Even military sources admit that they are "advancing cautiously" as they confront a large group of opposition fighters who have reinforced their positions in the northern section of Qusayr.

The road to Homs and then on Qusayr is but a series of checkpoints that only increase as you approach the embattled city. Along the way, we veer close to the Dabaa airport, which remains under the opposition's control. Soldiers must pass through here on their way to Qusayr, and can
only do so under protection of heavy gunfire to prevent opposition snipers from picking them off.

The city is a battleground in every sense of the word: its barren streets are filled with barricades, and the sounds of explosions seem to come from every direction, pausing for a few moments before resuming with a vengeance.

By all appearances, this is no ordinary battle - the extent of destruction and the intensity of fighting suggest that this city is witnessing one of the ugliest rounds of warfare since the outbreak of
the Syrian crisis.

Few civilians remain in the city. Most of those left are old, and none are willing to talk to the media, particularly when it comes to the subject of opposition fighters.

Morale seems to be high among government troops, who have managed to completely surround the city. Certainly recent news about the death of al-Nusra Front commander Abu Omar has further lifted their spirits.

Rumors about the movement of opposition fighters from the surrounding areas - including "hundred" from Yabroud and the Qalamoun Mountains - reach the military's operation rooms in Qusayr. This is after the Syrian border guard managed to stop fighters coming from the nearby Wadi
Khaled area in Lebanon.

Syrian military planners made the right decision by first cutting off Qusayr from the east along the Lebanese border, across which most of the local opposition's weapons and fighters were smuggled.

If regime forces regain control of the city, they will likely turn north against opposition positions in Homs and Rastan, which rely heavily on support from Lebanon and Qusayr.

Retaking the city would also put an end to the possibility of setting up a hardline Salafi emirate in Qusayr, which would have served as a thorn in the side of Hezbollah and the Shia Lebanese villages of the Hermel region, and could have easily led to a full-fledged sectarian war on both sides of the border.

Commanders on the ground say that battle for Qusayr is far from over and could take another week before they can seize the opposition's stronghold in the north of the city. Standing on the roof of a building that serves as an observation post for government troops, it's clear from the intensity of the fighting that their advance in that direction will be grueling and costly.

Foreclosure protesters storm Covington and Burling

On the 22nd of May, the same protesters who have been hammering Eric Holder and the Department of Justice all week over "too big to fail" banks stormed the DC office of Holder's former law firm, Covington and Burling LLP.

Reuters reports that Holder and many top DOJ officials were connected to major mortage banks by their prior work art Convington, which has represented many or most of the major banks involved in questionable foreclosures. Bank of America, Citibank, JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo are all clients of Convington and Burling LLP. In short, Convington symbolizes the "revolving door" between government and Wall St. interests.

The theme of the protest was to "stop the revolving door" and the civil disobediance element of the protest did exactly that, sitting in and blocking both of the revolving doors. When the larger group that had invaded the lobby withdrew after police warnings, the revolving door blockades remained in place.

According to one report 7 people were arrested in the revolving doors, and police took risks with the safety of the blockaders in the process of trying to move the doors to access some of the protesters.

Revolving doors can be folded up as well as rotated, so both ways of getting past the doors had to be secured to block the police. In response, police attempted to rotate or otherwise move the doors even when there was the risk of body parts being trapped.

For some reason, Taser-wielding Homeland Security cops were summoned to the scene by MPD when it was time to move arrestees out of the building. This time around, the Tasers were not fired.

All Tasers I've seen in the last three says in the hands of the FPS/Homeland Security goons were loaded with "extra penetration," 25 foot range cartridges with the green blast doors. All recent Taser incidents I've seen or heard about involving protesters appeared to have been at or near contact range. A 25 foot shot with the requirement that both probes land on target with a Taser is not easy to make.

Christmas thieves arrested after dramatic police pursuit

West Midlands Police has released camera footage of the pursuit take last December, when three thieves stole children's presents from under Christmas trees during a three-hour road-trip from Derbyshire to Birmingham - but were cornered after a dramatic police chase.

Darren Hackett, Francis Gilsenan and Daniel Sheridan broke into a house in Castle Gresley, near Burton-on-Trent, at 4.40pm on December 8 last year before loading gifts into the owner's VW van and driving off.Two hours later the 'anti Santas' scooped up presents from an address in Fazeley, Staffordshire, before trying to grab more gifts at 7.20pm from the home of a 77-year-old man in Heath Croft Road, Sutton Coldfield.

They fled with just the pensioner's car keys but were disturbed by a passer-by before they were able to steal the vehicle.

The Transporter's number plate was radioed across West Midlands Police units in the area - having been noted down by the quick-thinking witness - and minutes later a patrol car spotted the van in Wylde Green.

It was stopped on the A45 near Birmingham Airport when a pursuit - during which motorists had to swerve to avoid the van as 31-year-old Hackett weaved across lanes - ended with a police 'stinger' deflating the vehicle's tyres.

Gift-wrapped Christmas presents stuffed inside a duvet cover were recovered from the van; all three later admitted three counts of burglary with Hackett also admitted dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.

And at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday (May 21) Hackett, of Pool Farm Road in Acocks Green, was jailed for five years whilst Gilsenan (28), of no fixed address, and Sheridan (20) from Tyseley Lane in Tyseley were handed sentences of three years and two months.

West Midlands Police Detective Sergeant Nick Barnes, said: "These were particularly cruel crimes: they stole Christmas presents like games consoles that were clearly destined for young children. They'll now be spending several Christmases behind bars.

Remember: Hillary Clinton Fired From "Watergate" For Lying...

The now-retired general counsel and chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee, who supervised Hillary when she worked on the Watergate investigation, says Hillary's history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther - and goes much deeper - than anyone realizes.

Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy's chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation - one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman's 17-year career.

Why?

"Because she was a liar," Zeifman said in an interview last week. "She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality."

How could a 27-year-old House staff member do all that? She couldn't do it by herself, but Zeifman said she was one of several individuals - including Marshall, special counsel John Doar and senior associate special counsel (and future Clinton White House Counsel) Bernard Nussbaum - who engaged in a seemingly implausible scheme to deny Richard Nixon the right to counsel during the investigation.

Why would they want to do that? Because, according to Zeifman, they feared putting Watergate break-in mastermind E. Howard Hunt on the stand to be cross-examined by counsel to the president. Hunt, Zeifman said, had the goods on nefarious activities in the Kennedy Administration that would have made Watergate look like a day at the beach - including Kennedy's purported complicity in the attempted assassination of Fidel Castro.

The actions of Hillary and her cohorts went directly against the judgment of top Democrats, up to and including then-House Majority Leader Tip O'Neill, that Nixon clearly had the right to counsel. Zeifman says that Hillary, along with Marshall, Nussbaum and Doar, was determined to gain enough votes on the Judiciary Committee to change House rules and deny counsel to Nixon. And in order to pull this off, Zeifman says Hillary wrote a fraudulent legal brief, and confiscated public documents to hide her deception.

The brief involved precedent for representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding. When Hillary endeavored to write a legal brief arguing there is no right to representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding, Zeifman says, he told Hillary about the case of Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, who faced an impeachment attempt in 1970.

"As soon as the impeachment resolutions were introduced by (then-House Minority Leader Gerald) Ford, and they were referred to the House Judiciary Committee, the first thing Douglas did was hire himself a lawyer," Zeifman said.

The Judiciary Committee allowed Douglas to keep counsel, thus establishing the precedent. Zeifman says he told Hillary that all the documents establishing this fact were in the Judiciary Committee's public files. So what did Hillary do?

"Hillary then removed all the Douglas files to the offices where she was located, which at that time was secured and inaccessible to the public," Zeifman said. Hillary then proceeded to write a legal brief arguing there was no precedent for the right to representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding - as if the Douglas case had never occurred.

The brief was so fraudulent and ridiculous, Zeifman believes Hillary would have been disbarred if she had submitted it to a judge.

This video shows protests once again GERB party won the elections in Bulgaria. These elections were won by the GERB party of manipulation, vote buying and fake ballots. During the election prosecutors investigate in printing "Multi Print" where all printed ballots for the elections in Bulgaria and there were found 350,000 additional printed newsletters that GERB party wanted to raise their voices. Prosecutors seized those papers and the case is pre-trial proceedings. This printer is located in ofKostinbrod near Sofia and it was awarded the contract to print ballots for all elections that took place in Bulgaria. This printer, however, is owned by a person who is a municipal councilor and member of the GERB party. This shows how GERB deliberately gave the order for printing of ballots for the election of a trusted person to be able to manipulate the votes of citizens.
All of it put people back into the streets to protest after they realized how their vote was manipulated.
