May 17, 2013 12:26 PM

By JEFF KAROUB
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan urged Detroit's pastors and majority black population Friday to join him in an effort to buy neglected properties and take other steps to help revitalize the struggling city where the movement started more than 80 years ago.

The fiery orator offered few specifics in a speech to the Detroit City Council, but made plain his displeasure with Gov. Rick Snyder's decision to appoint an emergency financial manager. He likened the takeover to buzzards circling over a carcass.

"The city abandoned, crime and violence rampant, and the governor has seen fit to take away the rights of the voting public," Farrakhan said, referring to putting someone in charge of the city's finances that wasn't elected. "I don't know what democracy really means if you can be given the right to vote and then somebody can take it away."

He said the city's downtown is "coming along pretty good" as its buildings are bought and renovated, but many other areas are "like a wasteland."

"But a wasteland always gives opportunities those who have a vision," he said.

Detroit's problems include high crime, joblessness and abandonment; its budget deficit is about $330 million and rising.

"Suppose we in leadership, the pastors of the city, stop arguing," he said. "Why shouldn't we come together and own Detroit?"

At the movement's annual convention in February, Farrakhan called on blacks nationwide to curb economic disparities by cutting back on excessive spending, pooling resources and investing in land. The Nation of Islam has more than 1,500 acres of farmland in Georgia, and leaders have said the group is looking to buy thousands more acres in the Midwest.

Now based in Chicago, the Nation of Islam was founded in 1930 in Detroit by Wallace D. Fard, who the movement says attracted blacks on the margins of society with a message of self-improvement and separation from whites.

The group, which promotes black empowerment and nationalism, was rebuilt by Farrakhan in the late 1970s.

He became notorious for calling Judaism a "gutter religion" and suggesting crack cocaine might have been a CIA plot to enslave blacks. Farrakhan has over the years denied claims of anti-Semitism, arguing his remarks are often taken out of context and that criticism of Jews in any light automatically earns the "anti-Semite" label.

His message on Friday was one of unity among races and religions, but he said he's focusing on African-Americans because they are city's majority population.

Farrakhan said it was important to return to Detroit "at a time of intense dark."

"We got to come home and help this city," he said.

Farrakhan also is scheduled to deliver an evening public address at Fellowship Chapel on the city's northwest side.

Fisker-based Destino still in the works, hundreds of Karma owners seek conversion Wards Auto reports the VL Productions Destino is still moving forward. As you may recall, that machine takes a Fisker Karma hybrid, guts the drivetrain and replaces it with a honking 556 horsepower V8 from General Motors. Bob Lutz , while speaking with Wards ,
confirmed that VL Productions had obtained 20 Karma "gliders" without a
battery, engine or electric motor, and that VL may purchase Karma
hybrids from dealers currently looking to dump their inventory. Lutz
also says that hundreds of current Karma owners have approached VL
Productions about the possibility of converting their hybrids to V8
power.

That conversion could cost between $85,000 and $95,000. Right now, VL
has around 100 orders for standard Destino models, each with a price tag
of $185,000. Not surprisingly, much of that demand has come from the
Middle East. Wards reports that the first wave of deliveries
are set to begin in the third quarter of this year. Buyers can expect to
find a 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 engine lifted from the Cadillac CTS-V under the hood, coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Fisker Karma prices tanking on used market Buying into a new, fledgling automaker is always a big risk - the
early-adopter upside has the potential to be great, but the downside can
look like the mother of all hangovers. Unsurprisingly, that's the
unpleasant financial reality facing Fisker Karma owners as they look to unload their extended-range electric sedans while the company's future bleakens.

We've been keeping tabs on used Karma prices on eBay Motors and other
websites for some time now, and there's been a steady stream of the
voluptuous sedans on offer since not long after they first became
available. Early on, we initially chalked that up to speculators, but
moved on to imagining disgruntled owners as more and more mechanical and
electrical problems were brought to light. Now, however, there's a
bumper crop of Fisker models on the used market, with NBC News and Business Insider
reporting that pre-owned examples are trading for under half their
six-digit MSRPs just one year ago. Around 2,500 Karmas were made, and
eBay Motors is playing host to 26 of them alone as this piece is being
written. Scan over to AOL Autos ' listings, and there are 126 entries.

For its part, the embattled startup has yet to declare bankruptcy, but it has laid off most of its employees and hired experts in the field suggesting they will soon. What's more, officials are looking to to recover as much of the $192 million in federal loans the company received ,
and despite some potential suitors sniffing around, no buyer for the
company has emerged. No surprise, then, that Karma owners are looking to
unload their models, likely fearing not only for their vehicles' resale
values, but also the continued availability of parts and service.

Question: If Karma prices continue to crater apace, how soon until shadetree mechanics follow the lead of Bob Lutz's VL Automotive Destino , which bins the Fisker's complex plug-in hybrid powertrain in favor of the supercharged LS9 V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 ?

GM stock prices finally eclipse $33 IPO price General Motors has reached
an important milestone this morning: the price for one share of the
company has climbed to over $33. That's higher than the Initial Public
Offering price from 2010. At roughly 12:15PM Eastern today, GM shares
were up $0.97 on the day, some 2.99 percent, for a total of $33.36. The Detroit Free Press reports
that the last time GM stock closed over $33 was on May 4, 2011. GM
stock has been steadily growing in value throughout 2013. The stock
price is up by 14 percent since the start of the year.

The jump over $33 per share is undoubtedly great news for both investors
and GM employees, who've suffered through some scary moments over the
last few years. In 2012, the share price fell below $19. Later that
summer, GM CEO Dan Akerson spent some $500,000 on 25,000 shares as a vote of confidence in the embattled automaker (shares that are now worth roughly $825k... nicely played, Dan).

As has been widely reported, the $33 price still is far from the
break-even point for the shares purchased by the US Government, however.
The Treasury Department is still planning on divesting itself
of GM shares by early 2014, and would need to see roughly $75 per share
to break even on the investment it made in 2009 as part of the
company's bankruptcy restructuring.

Tiger Stadium was once the crown jewel of Detroit's major league baseball team the Detroit Tigers. Built in 1911 to accommodate 23,000 fans the stadium was expanded several times until 1937 by which it could house 52,500 fans.

The stadium was declared a State of Michigan Historic Site in 1975 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The stadium was abandoned on September 27th 1999 after a stunning last game 8-2 grand slam victory for the Detroit Tigers over the Kansas City Royals. Despite long term conservation efforts by remaining fans and historic groups the stadium was fully demolished in September 2009 with the revenue generated from the stadium's scrap metal paying the demolition bill.

Now an ambitious Detroit businessman thinks he has a bombshell idea for transforming the empty lot where Old Tiger Stadium used to be.

Francois DeMonique told WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas he wants to see the site at Michigan Avenue and Trumbull transformed into an all African American hotel and entertainment complex.

"I love this city and I believe in this city. I've put a lot of effort into it and my company, which is Urban Caf'e Corporation, we are dedicated to being a part of the new face of Detroit. This may be just the first African-American development built from the ground up," he said.

DeMonique's vision for Urban Caf'e Detroit is one where visitors can stay in a hotel, attend a live concert, have a first-class dinner and dance the night away all under one roof without having to drive to separate destinations.

"We're anticipating the Old Tiger Stadium site, but there are other options and sites that we are currently in negotiation with, private enterprises and private owners," he said.

The look of the building would be aesthetically pleasing, DeMonique said, with a streamlined, avant-garde look that will instantly raise the profile of the area in which it is built. He said the facility will influence the city's skyline and "lift the spirits of Detroit's residents and visitors."

DeMonique, who's been working on the project since 2009, said the complex would focus on "celebrating the positives of many nations around the world" from the perspectives of art, dance, music, cuisines and the other aspects. He described the venue as being "the place to be for locals and a must-see establishment for tourists."

The hotel will be the jewel of the complex, DeMonique said, featuring its own 200-seat upscale restaurant, full-service bar, candy store, exercise room, spa, hair salon anda business center. The third through seventh floors will have 20 suites per floor, each featuring a theme-specific decor designed around the unique cultures of various African countries. DeMonique said the designs and concepts will cover all 100 suites, showcasing different countries of Africa and the Caribbean.

The complex will also feature a multi-purpose theater with 1,500 seats, which can be used for conventions, weddings, concerts, graduations and proms, among other things. The venue's central restaurant will be theme-based with 500 seats. DeMonique said the food will be mostly all-American bistro with a "Rain Forest Caf'e" vibe.

DeMonique, who was born in West Africa, said he regards the venture as an effort to reach out to an entire community by sharing African-American culture, cuisines and other heritages in all their variety. Although the complex will be urban focused, DeMonique said patrons of all backgrounds will be welcomed and embraced.

Urban Caf'e Detroit is projected to draw a quarter of a million patrons annually for the first five years of operation, DeMonique said.

The project has a price tag of $75 million to $100 million.

By BILL VLASIC
New York Times - Sun, May 12, 2013 9:23 PM EDT
DETROIT - Dozens of companies from China are putting down roots in Detroit, part of the country's steady push into the American auto industry.

Chinese-owned companies are investing in American businesses and new vehicle technology, selling everything from seat belts to shock absorbers in retail stores, and hiring experienced engineers and designers in an effort to soak up the talent and expertise of domestic automakers and their suppliers.

While starting with batteries and auto parts, the spread of Chinese business is expected to result eventually in the sale of Chinese cars in the United States.

"The Chinese are well behind the Japanese when they hit our shores 30 years ago," said David E. Cole, a founder of the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Mich. "They lack the know-how, and they're coming here to get it."

As businesses sprout up with little fanfare, Chinese companies seem to be trying to avoid the type of public opposition experienced by the Japanese automakers Toyota and Honda in the 1980s, when the sudden influx of foreign cars competing head-on with cars from General Motors, Ford and Chrysler was perceived as a threat to American jobs.

In contrast to the Japanese, Chinese auto companies are assiduously avoiding the spotlight. Last year, the biggest carmaker in China, Shanghai Automotive Industries, opened new offices in suburban Detroit without any publicity, which is almost unheard-of in an industry that thrives on media coverage.

But China's growth in the American auto industry is drawing notice in Washington. Last year, the Obama administration filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization that China's government was unfairly subsidizing the production of some parts shipped to America. And the country's inroads into American-made batteries and electric vehicles have drawn scrutiny because that sector of the industry has been heavily subsidized by the United States government.

The American industry's overall resurgence has drawn a growing Chinese population to Detroit, with Chinese-owned suppliers bringing executives from their country and American automakers adding new talent. About 50,000 Chinese, many of them engineers and other professionals who work at General Motors and the Ford Motor Company, live in the metropolitan area.

Business networks are growing too. The Detroit Chinese Business Association boasts a flourishing membership, and counts about 100 Chinese-owned businesses, mostly auto-related, in the region.

The Ford Chinese Association, with 650 white-collar workers, predominantly from mainland China, has become one of the largest employee groups at the company. Its president, Raymond Xu, recalled that in 1999, when he came to Detroit to attend college, there were very few Chinese in the area.

"I think people are going to get more and more comfortable with it," Mr. Xu said.

Typical of the Chinese expansion are the nondescript offices of Changan Automotive in an industrial park in the suburban city of Plymouth. Changan, a major carmaker in China, set up a research center to better understand the structural chassis of a vehicle - then hired about 20 Detroit engineers, some of whom had been laid off from Detroit's auto companies, to staff the project.

"Most of the engineers are very young in China," said Hong Su, the Changan executive heading the American facility. "They know how to make vehicles, but they don't know how to develop them."One of his employees is Alan Wall, 54, a former contract engineer at Chrysler who lost his job during the recession.

"It was an opportunity," he said. "And those tend to come from a company that is trying to expand."

Last year, China exported about $13 billion in automotive goods to the United States - tires, wheels and radios that are sold as replacement parts - according to AlixPartners, a consulting firm.

But many Chinese suppliers are pursuing direct business with the Detroit car companies, which now get many of their most common parts from low-wage nations like Mexico. One supplier, Brilliance Auto , an industrial giant with about 500,000 employees in the city of Shenyang in northeast China, is still an underdog in Detroit, trying to crack an intricate network of suppliers that have long relationships with G.M. and the other carmakers.

"We have been exporting our parts to North America for 15 years for the aftermarket," said Dongbin Chen, a Brilliance executive, referring to retail sales of replacement parts. "Now our biggest opportunity is with G.M. and the other big companies."

Brilliance scored a coup last year by supplying lightweight engine mounts for the new Cadillac ATS sedan made by G.M. in Lansing, Mich., which has whetted the company's appetite for more.

At a United States-China conference held here in November, Brilliance displayed a large exhibit showcasing a range of mundane parts - including seat belts, steering wheels and shock absorbers - that it hopes to export to America.

"We have the ability and the capacity to supply these kinds of parts," Mr. Chen said. "And I think right now, it is very important for us to be here."

In addition to Chinese companies locating in Detroit, a cottage industry of lawyers, accountants and corporate advisers has grown up to assist them. Their numbers are small now, but the impact of the Chinese on the local economy is slowly expanding.

Industry analysts are hard-pressed to put a number on the Chinese suppliers operating in the United States. "We simply don't know how many there are," said David Andrea, an official with the Original Equipment Suppliers Association, a trade organization for auto parts makers.

In one of the more prominent deals, the Wanxiang Group bought most of the assets of the battery maker A123 Systems, which filed for bankruptcy last year despite receiving $132 million of $249 million in federal grants to build two factories in Michigan.

Congressional Republicans criticized the deal, saying A123's technology could support military applications in China. Still, the buyout was approved this year by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, a federal government panel.

Wanxiang, which has its United States headquarters near Chicago, has acquired several American auto parts and solar companies in recent years. But it attracted little attention until it took an interest in A123 Systems.

"I wasn't surprised by the negative reaction," said Pin Ni, president of the company's American unit. "The reality is we grow here like a small seed into a bigger tree, and we cannot avoid this type of response."

He said that Wanxiang employed several thousand American workers, and kept local management in place at companies it had bought. "We act, talk and walk like an American company," Mr. Ni said. "In the end, it's all about making money."

Other Chinese companies are averse to publicity. Shanghai Auto is the largest carmaker in China and has major joint ventures there with G.M. and the German automaker Volkswagen. But when the company opened its new Detroit-area offices last year, even G.M. was surprised.

"Since we do not do business with SAIC in the U.S., there is no connection between G.M. and the SAIC office in the U.S.," said Dayna Hart, a G.M. spokeswoman.

The arms-length reaction underscores the sensitivity surrounding China's presence in the American industry. Only about 4 percent of Chinese-made light vehicles are exported now, mostly to countries in Africa and the Middle East. But the Detroit automakers are bracing for the day when competitive Chinese cars hit the American market.

"The Chinese have a lot of money and they are moving fast," said Mr. Cole. "We're going to see a lot more of them here."

The growth in the Chinese professional class has had a ripple effect on the broader community, as well, with Chinese community groups sponsoring youth soccer leagues, basketball tournaments and musical performances at Detroit Tigers games. One organization runs a Chinese soup kitchen every year at a local homeless shelter.

Frank Chiu was an engineer for an auto supply company when he saw the growing number of Chinese professionals entering the industry and saw an opportunity. He left his job to open a Chinese grocery store in Canton, Mich, a bedroom community not far from Ford headquarters.

"The timing was very good for this type of business," said Mr. Chiu, whose store features Chinese delicacies like chicken feet, snow fungus and pork uterus.

As customers roamed the store around him, Mr. Chiu reflected on how much had changed since he moved from Taiwan more than 20 years ago. "What was it like then?" he said. "Lonely is the first word that comes to mind."

At Ford, Chinese employees play an integral part in the company's expansion in China, where it is building several new factories. They also help prepare American executives for transfers to China, and play host to Chinese car dealers when they visit Ford's headquarters.

On Feb. 14, hundreds of Ford employees celebrated the Chinese New Year at the stately Dearborn Inn, which was conceived by Henry Ford in the 1930s as a replica of an early American village, with guest cottages that copied the homes of historical figures like Walt Whitman and Patrick Henry.

"We definitely see more openness to the Chinese culture," said Mr. Xu, the Ford Chinese Association president. "We started small here, but we are coming on strong."

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/05/13/us-usa-security-detroit-idUSBRE94C0V620130513

A Saudi Arabian man was arrested in Detroit and charged with making a false statement about why he brought a pressure cooker with him on a flight from Amsterdam, according to a criminal complaint filed on Monday.

Nasser Almarzooq told The Associated Press on Monday that he'd asked his uncle, Hussain Al Khawahir, to bring him a pressure cooker because the ones he bought in the U.S. didn't work. (Oh of course, everyone knows Saudi technology is so much superior to American technology)

Hussain al-Khawahir, 33, arrived at the Detroit airport on Saturday and was questioned about why he had brought a pressure cooker with him. The man's name was spelled al-Khawahir in the criminal complaint, while a spokeswoman at the U.S. attorney's office had earlier said it was al-Kwawahir.

He initially said the pressure cooker was for his nephew, a university student in Toledo, Ohio.

"The Defendant then changed his story and admitted his nephew had purchased a pressure cooker in America before but it 'was cheap' and broke after the first use," the complaint said.

Pressure cookers packed with explosive powder and shrapnel were set off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon on April 15, where they killed three people and injured 264. The bombs, left on the ground, caused gruesome injuries with more than 10 people losing limbs, either directly from the blasts or when doctors had to amputate the badly-mangled limbs.

Al-Khawahir was also charged with altering his passport because a page was torn out of the document, the complaint said.

A hearing was held on Monday in federal court in Detroit on the case but no action was taken in order to give prosecutors more time to investigate al-Khawahir, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office said.

Allow me to translate for those of us with higher than a 3rd grade education. Their issues, meaning the mayor of Detroit and the city council, is not taking, what I feel, are the appropriate measures to remove condemned housing. That way there need not be personnel accountability for vagrant like behavior from our citizens. Also I believe the officers of this fine city may be underpaid. If a pay increase for safety officers is not in the cities budget, I would like to throw my weave in the ring for service in helping with possible city reform. I may not be as experienced as some, but I am a quick learner. I feel that these issues have possibly contributed to our declining tourism market. Please attempt to make changes more rapidly as is your duty as leaders of this city. I have strong sentiments regarding these issues and feel anger! Good day to you, and you may address me as, Linda Brown Duncan. Please contact me for any possible contributions I may make, and again good day to you.

Why Barack Obama's imperial presidency is imploding

By Nile Gardiner World Last updated: May 16th, 2013
This has been a nightmare week for Barack Obama, without a doubt the worst of his presidency so far. Steven T. Miller, acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service has resigned over his agency's targeting of conservative groups, which even The Washington Post labeled this morning a "horror story" . Yesterday Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the House Judiciary Committee on a host of issues including the Benghazi debacle, in what can only be described as a train wreck of a performance. Holder was simply unable or unwilling to answer most key questions, and demonstrated a level of contempt for elected officials in Congress that was breathtaking. It was yet another public relations disaster for the Obama team.

In addition the administration has come under heavy fire over the Justice Department's monitoring of phone records belonging to Associated Press journalists. All this has combined to create a perfect storm in the first year of Obama's second term, a wave of scandals that has been so damaging to the standing of this administration that even The New York Times today carries the headline on its front page: "An Onset of Woes Raises Questions on Obama Vision" . When even the usually subservient inflight newspaper of Air Force One has doubts over the job the president is doing you know the situation is really desperate for The White House.

George F. Will, one of America's most influential political commentators, and a columnist for The Washington Post, believes there are "echoes of Watergate" in both the IRS and Benghazi scandals. As Will wrote earlier this week:

The burglary occurred in 1972, the climax came in 1974, but40 years ago this week - May 17, 1973 - the Senate Watergate hearings began exploring the nature of Richard Nixon's administration. Now the nature of Barack Obama's administration is being clarified as revelations about IRS targeting of conservative groups merge with myriad Benghazi mendacities.

Will doesn't go as far as saying that Barack Obama will suffer the same fate as Nixon. After all, Obama benefits from a Senate controlled by the Democrats. But there is no denying the parallels between the sense of impunity in this White House and that of Richard Nixon's four decades ago. In fact it's considerably worse on many fronts.

Political analyst Michael Barone warned back in October 2008 of what he called "The Coming Liberal Thugocracy," referring to then Senator Obama's call for his supporters "to get in their face" when confronting Republicans and Independents. Barone argued at the time that "Obama supporters who found the campuses congenial and Mr. Obama himself, who has chosen to live all his adult life in university communities, seem to find it entirely natural to suppress speech they don't like and seem utterly oblivious to claims this violates the letter and spirit of the First Amendment."

Barone's predictions have been proved correct. As I've noted in previous pieces, this is a nasty, brutish, imperial-style presidency that is highly intolerant of dissent, and which goes out of its way to target political opponents. It is ironic that one of the journalists threatened by the Obama White House in recent months has been Bob Woodward, one of two Washington Post reporters who originally broke the Watergate scandal, and who was immortalised in the 1976 Oscar winner All The President's Men , where he was played by Robert Redford. Woodward was warned back in February by White House economic adviser Gene Sperling that he would "regret" remarks he made on the sequester issue. Other writers, including Bill Clinton's former special counsel Lanny Davis, have faced similar threats.

Is it any surprise that conservative groups have been targeted en masse by the federal government following the kind of deeply unpleasant rhetoric used by Vice President Joe Biden, who supported the charge by Democrat Congressman Mike Doyle of Pennsylvania that Tea Party Republicans had "acted like terrorists" over the debt issue? Biden has been a master of this kind of divisive, heated language, telling union members at an AFL-CIO rally in Detroit in September 2011 that "you are the only folks keeping the barbarians from the gates." At the same rally, Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa declared : "President Obama, this is your army, and we are ready to march. Everybody here's got a vote. If we go back, and we keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong." Needless to say, President Obama remained silent on both the Biden and Hoffa remarks, and in the following year called on his supporters to take "revenge" against Republicans at the ballot box.

This week, thanks to unprecedented levels of Congressional and mainstream media scrutiny of the actions of the Obama administration, the American people have been given a powerful insight into the way in which this presidency has operated. For far too long, the Obama administration has acted like an imperial court rather than a government that is accountable to the nation. The White House's culture of arrogance and impunity, coupled with a deeply unpleasant vindictiveness, is increasingly there for all to see. Suppression of political dissent, a callous disregard for the loss of American life in Benghazi, and the relentless rise of big government - these will be three of the most of enduring images of Barack Obama's imperial presidency.

Melinda Brown Snaps on Fox Reporter I'll Show You How To Run The City Of Detroit, Melinda Brown Duncan Goes OFF on Fox Reporter
Melinda Brown Duncan lets the city of Detroit's government have it!

The
residents of the city of Detroit has been under fire from every
direction of the city's government. From the governor's office to the
mayor's office and city council, the residents have been catching hell!

But
Melinda Brown Duncan is not planning on keeping that a secret! She's
mad as hell and told the local Fox 2 News all about it. She admitted
that she is not a government official, but she'll "learn, quick, fast,
and in a hurry." She told Fox 2 News reporter Maurielle Lue, that she
could do a much better job than the present mayor of Detroit, Dave Bing.
"Dave Bing and the governor, y'all problem is that y'all just sittin'
up there collectin' checks! If y'all really wanna run the city of
Detroit, come around here and every block of the city of Detroit, look
through these houses, if they ain't no good tear they asses down, so
people could stop finding dead relatives in these damn houses!"

The
rant went on for a full minute and she didn't leave any rock unturned
in telling the city's government how she felt about the way the city was
underpaying officers and other crap that has been going on in the
mismanagement of the Motor City. Then, she offered a solution to the
city's problems. "If not, put my ass in office i'll show you how to damn
run the city of damn Detroit .. That's why people don't wanna come to
the city of Detroit, 'cause y'all sorry asses not gettin' off yo asses
and doin' sh*t.... So kiss my black ass and get off of office, BYE!"

In all of her huff and puff, she forgot to give her name, so Lue asked her name. "My name is Melinda Brown Duncan, baby! Now!"

But
while Melinda Brown Duncan was telling the truth, the whole truth and
nothing but the truth, Fox showed their true intent of obtaining and
posting her remarks. Underneath the video on their site, they give a
brief description of the video and then write: "Nothing more to write
here, just play the video to get 1:10 seconds of 'keeping it real.'"

Fox
2 News, we have some other folks that want to keep it real with you.
Let us know where they can meet you. Check out the interview! Hats off
to Melinda Brown Duncan, baby! She, as Fox News states, keeps it real!

DETROIT (WJBK) - It's not surprising that Detroit, America's most violent city, would have the country's most violent neighborhood. But Detroit is also home to America's second, third and seventh most violent neighborhood, as well.

According to a new study by NeighborhoodScout.com, a person living in these neighborhoods has worse than a one in ten chance of being robbed at gunpoint, beaten senseless, raped or murdered.
