Ted Nelson reveals the true identity of Bitcoin inventor, Satoshi

Computer visionary, Ted Nelson presents his convincing theory on the true identity of Satoshi, inventor of Bitcoin. If Nelson's buildup irritates you, then skip to the reveal at 7:46 . Personally, I found it entertaining.

Article explaining the video : The inventor of Bitcoin has been shrouded in a mystery so complete, it's baffled even core developers for the virtual currency. Who is Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym for the person or group of people who came up with the original idea for the electronic cash system in 2008?

After contributing thousands of lines of code and hundreds of posts on Bitcoin, Nakamoto sent a note to a developer in April 2011 saying that he had "moved on to other things." Later that year, the New Yorker and others tried to unravel the mystery, but came away empty-handed.

But now Ted Nelson thinks he has the answer. The computer visionary has posted a video on YouTube in which he claims that the real person behind the pseudonym is none other than Shinichi Mochizuki, a math professor at Kyoto University.

Of course, Nelson doesn't offer up a lot of specifics to back up his theory, only explaining that Mochizuki is a brilliant mathematician and has a background that fits with the behavior of the elusive Nakamoto. Nelson also claims to have looked where others haven't, asking himself, "What would Sherlock Holmes have done?"

A large portion of the video consists of Nelson lauding the virtues of Bitcoin. He compares it to gold in one example: "Most people call Bitcoin a virtual currency, but I call it electronic gold," he says with a flourish of his eyebrows. "Like gold, Bitcoin has no central authority...Like gold there will always be a limited supply, and thus its value will increase, and like gold, Bitcoin is brilliant."

He then goes on to discuss the history of Bitcoin and its founder and his own feelings of empathy for Satoshi Nakamoto, saying he felt as if during his search he was looking for his "own long lost brother."

We've contacted Mochizuki for comment and will update this post when we learn more.

Weapon Analysis: High End Weapons for the FSA?

Scoped AK and CAR-15 rifles and croatian SPG-29s are only the beginning. Somebody is trying to win the Syria war by arming the FSA and allied Mujahedin.

Another FSA combatant with his AMD-65

A good example: The AMD-65, produced since 1965, is a short barreled 7.62x39mm AK variant made by the Hungarian manufacturer Fegyver 'Es G'epgy'ar. Primarily designed for airborne and mechanized infantry. The assault rifle can be identified by

1. The specially designed muzzlebreak (conventional birdcage and duckbill flash supressors are also found)

2. The 12.5 inch barrel (the front sight is positioned directly behind the gas block)

3. The uniqe paratrooper (alternatively a retractable AR-15 style buttstock )

The accessories mounted on the AMD65Ms shown in the images above include an alleged CAA Tactical handguard and picatinny rails equipped with a front grip by the same manufacturer and high magnification scopes on mounts.

Opposition child soldier holding an AMD-65M

The picatinny rails seen on the AMD-65s may be explained due to recent modernizations of the old design by it's manufacturer that went out of business in 2004. However the telescopic magnification scope is very uncommon for a 7.62x39mm carbine with an effective range of 200 metres and makes it unlikely that it was issued by the Syrian Arab Army. 20.000 classic AMD-65Ms were given to Afghan police units in 2007 where it is also used in an upgraded version with equipment by CAA Tactical. It was speculated that such modified AMD-65M rifles are also in
use with private military companies .

Afghan Border Police AMD-65 with CAA style rails

Other unidentified AK and AR-15 models are also spotted heavily modified and used with telescopic sights. A recent video released by government opposing Mujahedin showed a high magnification telescopic scope mounted on a modified AKMS.

Scoped AR-15 of unknown origin supposedly chambered in 5.56mm NATO with Magpul UBR stock or a copy

Another AKM model with a CAA type handguard and Grip Pod or copies

As reputable manufacturers of the modification and rail systems, like SAA Tactical and possible Asian copiers, hardly ship into war zones and many of it's Free Syrian Army users are relatively untrained in handling firearms, it is highly probable that the weapons issuing such modifications are shipped or directly upgraded by foreign military organizations. If this was the case, it would fit in the weapon shipments from Croatia that draw attention thanks to the articles of Elliot Higgins and EA WorldView.

Venezuela runs out of toilet paper - The revolution will provide!!

FIRST milk, butter, coffee and cornmeal ran short. Now Venezuela is running out of the most basic of necessities - toilet paper.

Blaming political opponents for the shortfall, as it does for other shortages, the embattled socialist government says it will import 50 million rolls to boost supplies.

That was little comfort to consumers struggling to find toilet paper yesterday.

"This is the last straw," said Manuel Fagundes, a shopper hunting for tissue in downtown Caracas. "I'm 71 years old and this is the first time I've seen this."

One supermarket visited by The Associated Press in the capital was out of toilet paper. Another had just received a fresh batch, and it quickly filled up with shoppers as the word spread.

"I've been looking for it for two weeks," said Cristina Ramos. "I was told that they had some here and now I'm in line."

Economists say Venezuela's shortages stem from price controls meant to make basic goods available to the poorest parts of society and the government's controls on foreign currency.

"State-controlled prices - prices that are set below market-clearing price - always result in shortages. The shortage problem will only get worse, as it did over the years in the Soviet Union," said Steve Hanke, professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University.

President Nicolas Maduro, who was selected by the dying Hugo Chavez to carry on his "Bolivarian revolution," claims that anti-government forces, including the private sector, are causing the shortages in an effort to destabilize the country.

The government this week announced it would import 760,000 tonnes of food and 50 million rolls of toilet paper.

Commerce Minister Alejandro Fleming blamed the shortage of toilet tissue on "excessive demand" built up as a result of "a media campaign that has been generated to disrupt the country".

"The revolution will bring the country the equivalent of 50 million rolls of toilet paper," he was quoted as saying Tuesday by state news agency AVN. "We are going to saturate the market so that our people calm down."

Finance Minister Nelson Merentes said the government was also addressing the lack of foreign currency, which has resulted in the suspension of foreign supplies of raw materials, equipment and spare parts to Venezuelan companies, disrupting their production.

"We are making progress ... we have to work very hard," Mr Merentes told reporters.

Many factories operate at half capacity because the currency controls make it hard for them to pay for imported parts and materials. Business leaders say some companies verge on bankruptcy because they cannot extend lines of credit with foreign suppliers.

Mr Merentes said the government had met the US dollar requests of some 1500 small- and medium-sized companies facing supply problems, and was reviewing requests from a similar number of larger companies.

Mr Chavez imposed currency controls a decade ago trying to stem capital flight as his government expropriated large land parcels and dozens of businesses.

Anointed by Chavez as his successor before the president died from cancer, Mr Maduro won a close presidential election April 14 against opposition candidate Henrique Capriles, who refused to accept the result, claiming Mr Maduro won through fraud and voter intimidation. He filed a complaint to the Supreme Court, asking for the vote to be annulled, though that's highly unlikely to happen since the court is packed with government-friendly justices.

Patience is wearing thin among consumers who face shortages and long lines at supermarkets and pharmacies. Last month, Venezuela's scarcity index reached its highest level since 2009, while the 12-month inflation rate has risen to nearly 30 per cent. Shoppers often spend several days looking for basic items, and stock up when they find them.

Mr Fleming, the commerce minister, said monthly consumption of toilet paper was normally 125 million rolls, but that current demand "leads us to think that 40 million more are required".

"We will bring in 50 million to show those groups that they won't make us bow down," he said.

It looks like Joe Biden finally met an

intellectual equal with whom he can relate and discuss policy. I'm glad he's
taking the time off Bengazi, the IRS scandal, spying on the AP, the
Sebelius protection racket and other distraction to really tackle
issues. At least he's finally found someone that knows as much about guns as he does.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joe Biden responds to boy's sweet solution to gun violence
							May 15, 2013

This February, Myles Nelson, 7, came up with a solution to gun violence: use chocolate bullets.

He told his classroom's reading specialist, Barbara Rankin, about his
idea one lunch hour. She suggested he write to letters to President
Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and Wisconsin Congresswoman Gwen
Moore, sharing his brilliant idea.

With the help of Rankin, Myles did just that.

"Dear Vice President Biden, I have a great idea to help make our country
safer, better and the best," Myles wrote. "I think guns should shoot
out chocolate bullets. Then no one will get killed and no one will be
sad."

This week, Biden responded with a handwritten letter:

"I am sorry it took me so very long to respond to your letter," Biden
wrote in a letter that arrived at Nelson's school, Downtown Montessori
Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Monday. "I really like your idea. If
we had guns that shot chocolate, not only would our country be safer,
it would be happier. People love chocolate. You are a good boy."

"Everybody was impressed. You should have seen everybody. Their faces
were just wide-eyed," said Virginia Flynn, the head of school. "The fact
that it was handwritten made it really special."

"My jaw hit the floor," Myles's father, Garance Nelson, told TODAY.com.
"I think everybody was very surprised that Vice President Biden was kind
enough to take time enough out of his busy schedule to write a note to
my son. It showed that one little boy's voice was heard by big
government, and they gave him a little bit of their time."

Myles offers a simple explanation for his chocolate-bullets idea:

"I don't know I just thought about it," Myles told CBS58. "What do you want me to have? Candycane bullets? That would hurt."

Myles also received a response from Moore, WTMJ reported.

He's still waiting for a response from Obama.

"Well, I was very happy that (Biden) wrote me a letter," Myles said. "But I'm still waiting for Obama to do it."

Robertson: God Can Change Murderers, Rapists... and Homosexuals

Televangelist Pat Robertson on Monday defended an Ecuadorian
preacher's homophobic comments and said that LGBT people could change
their "orientation," just like God could change murderers and rapists.
The Huffington Post reported
earlier this year that evangelical preacher Nelson Zavala had his
political rights revoked after he said that homosexuality was "immoral"
while he was campaigning for president.
"For somebody to say that a homosexual can change is somehow a hate
crime -- it is a hate crime to say that somebody can change their sexual
preference, that that's a hate crime?" Robertson opined on Monday.
"That's what's going to happen, ladies and gentlemen. Mark that down and
fight for freedom because that man's freedom of speech is being taken
away."
"And the idea that anybody who has ministered to thousands of people
-- as undoubtedly he has and others have in that church in Ecuador --
know very well that the power of God can change people's orientation. A
murderer can change, a rapist can change, a thief can change. That's
what the gospel is all about. It's not a hate crime."

o PLEASE READ BEFORE WATCHING THIS VIDEOo

Cape Town - Social media commentators on Monday rounded on the ANC and the SABC after new footage of Nelson Mandela was released showing a clearly ailing former president, despite the party's earlier assurances to the contrary.

President Jacob Zuma and high-ranking members of the ANC had visited Mandela at his Houghton home earlier in the day, accompanied by the SABC, who released "exclusive" footage of the visit.

ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu had released a statement shortly after the visit, saying that "officials are satisfied that president Mandela is in good health and is receiving the very best medical care".

President Jacob Zuma said he found Mandela "in good shape and in good spirits", adding that "...as you can see him, that he's really up and about and stabilised".

But the "exclusive" footage painted a much more worrisome picture, showing him with a vacant look on his face, and appearing to utter very few words.

As reported by AP, the SABC video shows Mandela in an armchair, his head propped up by a pillow, his legs on a footrest and covered by a blanket, looking grey-skinned and unsmiling with his cheeks showing what appear to be marks from a recently removed oxygen mask.

Zuma jokes and laughs with ANC officials, some Mandela family members and the former president's medical team while Mandela stares straight ahead, unresponsive.

Zuma tries to hold Mandela's hand but, given his lack of response, ends up covering it with his own.

"Smile, smile," Mandela is urged as one of his grandsons grabs a cellphone to take a picture.

Mandela attempts a weak smile but, as the flash goes off, he closes his eyes and purses his lips. Mandela is known to dislike camera flashes, as his eyes are sensitive after years of working in the glare of a limestone quarry when he was imprisoned on Robben Island.

Outrage on social media platform Twitter grew swiftly, with condemnation directed at Zuma, the ANC, and the SABC.

o NOTE:

I have uploaded this video, to show what our current President, Jacob Zuma, shows complete and utter disregard for Nelson Mandela. He has single handily RUINED Nelson's dream of a free South Africa. He has reversed Apartheid, and destroyed the ruling parties reputation.
Get out of office Zuma, you are a flipping disgrace!

NASCAR Crew Members Arrested After Fighting With A Driver

Another weekend, another fight at a NASCAR race. This one involved two Richard
Childress Racing crewmen who were arrested early Saturday morning after police say they started a fight with a driver from a rival team.

According to AOL Sporting News , crew members Michael Searce, 50, and Thomas Costello, 35, have both been charged with misdemeanor assault. They have since been released from jail.

The fight was apparently sparked by an on-track confrontation during Friday's Nationwide Series race between driver Nelson Piquet Jr. and RCR driver Brian Scott, which can be seen in the video above (once again described on the official NASCAR YouTube page with two exclamation marks
after the word "fight.")

Scott confronted Piquet for crashing into him, and when they returned to the pit road, Piquet shoved Scott and kicked him in the groin.

The Los Angeles Times reports that after that scuffle occurred, the RCR crew members confronted Piquet and a group of others in the motorhome area. This led to their arrests on the assault charges. One person was injured, but Piquet was not. It's been a fight-y season for NASCAR so far. Just last month a fight broke out between Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin's crew at a Sprint Cup race. Somehow, I don't think that promoting this kind of thing on YouTube is really what the sport needs, but what do I know.

More info on Altercation & Team Owner reaction:

The disagreement between the two teams continued in the motor home parking area later when Searce and Costello allegedly assaulted Piquet and one of his crew members. according to Henrico County, Va., police. "Several members of another race team confronted a group that
included Nelson Piquet Jr., resulting in the arrest of two individuals from the other race team," Turner Scott Motorsports, for which Piquet drives, said in a statement.

Team owner Richard Childress released his own statement.

"Our team members were walking to their cars and words were exchanged with members from another team, which led to an altercation," Childress' statement said. "I am still learning all the exact details and, because it did happen outside of the track, and local authorities became involved. We are working with them to resolve this matter."

Two Minneapolis Police Officers Shot, Suspect Killed

A Minneapolis police chase erupted in gunfire Friday afternoon, leaving the suspect dead, two officers wounded and also claiming the life of a motorcyclist who collided with a squad car rushing to the shooting scene.

The male officers were listed in stable condition with gunshot wounds at Hennepin County Medical Center, police said.

The man, who family members identified as Terrance Franklin, 22, of Minneapolis, was shot after police chased him to a home at 2717 Bryant Av. S.

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Police Chief Janee Harteau arrived at the hospital shortly after the shooting. Harteau spoke briefly, confirming that the officers, whose names were not released, were stable and the suspect was dead.

Investigators were not looking for any other suspects, the police chief said.

"This is a very tough day for the Minneapolis Police Department," Harteau said. "The situation was a tragic one."

Police said the incident started with a man fleeing police in a car, and then on foot. Before reaching the Bryant Avenue home, the man ran into Flanders Brothers Cycle, a bicycle shop at 2707 Lyndale Av. S.

"He said he wanted to see a bike," said Ann VanBellinger, a cyclist who was at the shop to visit with friends.

She and some of the shop's staff soon sensed something wasn't right, however. Minutes passed as the man, wearing a red T-shirt, black pants and sporting dreadlocks, stood by the front door peering out the display window as if hiding from someone.

Puzzled workers didn't know what to do and began fearing that he was casing the shop.

Suddenly, the man got up and ran toward the back of the bicycle shop, which has no rear exit.

John Haugh, a mechanic in the back of the shop who moonlights as a security guard for a downtown club, gave chase. The man hurdled a half door as he burst into the shop's rear service area, then ran up a short flight of stairs into a storage space at the back of the shop. Trapped, he ran through the storage space and started toward the front of the shop, blasting through a latched door.

His phone flew out of his pocket as he hurdled another half door. The phone broke into two pieces when it landed, and he stopped to pick it up.

He then ran out the front door, just as a squad car appeared. Staff at the shop said they saw him run across Lyndale Avenue with police trailing close behind.

A woman who lives nearby, Cassondra Nelson, said she and her friends had just returned from shopping when they saw police converged on her block, which is W. 28th Street, between Aldrich and Bryant Avenues S.

They appeared to be searching four homes across the street, going in and out of each with a police dog, she said. Officers were turning away cars, directing them away from the area.

A SWAT van arrived and headed north up the alley between Aldrich and Bryant, Nelson said.

A short time later, she heard two gunshots, and she and her friend went back inside her house.

She later overheard a Minneapolis police officer talking on a cellphone, saying that one officer had been shot and was being taken to the hospital, Nelson recounted.

After the shooting, police roped off a large area around the house where the shots were fired.

As time passed, more friends and relatives of Franklin's appeared at the shooting scene, looking for answers. They first heard of the shooting on Facebook, several of them said, then watched as

Franklin's Facebook page filled up with condolences.

"I just knew he was a good kid," said Nicole Guise, the mother of Franklin's three stepsiblings. "Every time he saw me he would hug me."

"He was a good person; he was not for this," said Shenise Guise, a relative. She and other members of the family became increasingly frustrated Friday evening as police officers guarding the neighborhood of the shooting would not allow them into the crime scene.

"I need to know!" shouted Franklin's father, Walter, who begged police officers to let him see the body.

A pair of higher ranking officers eventually appeared and took Walter Franklin aside for a private conversation. Walter Franklin, his head rocking back as if in grief, then walked away and sat down on a nearby lawn.

On Blaisdell Avenue, the body of the motorcyclist remained in the intersection with 26th Street for hours as law enforcement officers investigated the crash, which occurred as an officer sped toward the shooting.

According to witnesses, a female passenger on the motorcycle was injured when the squad car hit the back of the bike, throwing both riders off.

Enrique Martin, a witness, said police were heading west on 26th Street and the motorcycle was going south on Blaisdell Avenue.

Another witness interviewed by police, Kyndell Harkness, a Star Tribune photojournalist who witnessed the crash as she was on her way to photograph the shooting scene, said she was passed by three police cars with lights flashing and sirens on that went through the red light at Blaisdell, where the motorcyclist had a green light.

The first police car hit the motorcycle, she said, whose driver was not wearing a helmet and was wearing flip-flops.

The police cars stopped and officers rushed to try and help the motorcycle riders, Harkness said. The driver died at the scene and the woman passenger was taken to HCMC.

Country singer and songwriter Toby Keith brought his red Solo cup and guitar to Marine Corps Base Hawaii to play a concert for service members and their families at Dewey Square, May 5.

After Keith's father, who served in the Army, passed away 11 years ago, the fourtime American Music Award winner was inspired to travel the world and perform for the military. Sunday's performance on MCB Hawaii made it his 200th military concert.

"Once we started touring with United Service Organization, we hit the ground running and haven't stopped since," Keith said. "It's wonderful to spend our 200th show here on the mighty Marine Corps base."

Marines, sailors, friends and family brought country spirit to Dewey Square. Fans claimed their positions in front of the stage three hours before the show started. Their hopes to have a clear view were dashed when thousands of fans filled every inch of the open area. Keith started the show with "Made in America." The lyrics of the song refer to a Marine with the Marine Corps motto "Semper Fidelis" tattooed on his left arm.

This song set the tone for the rest of the show. Not only were people excited to see Keith, but he played a song that touched every Marine.

"Early on, I didn't realize that Marines don't care about songs that talk about soldiers," Keith said. "Since I spent so much time with Marines over the years, I produced 'Made in America' and it has gotten very popular with the military."

The sea of red cups started to wave in the air when Keith began to play his famous summer song, "Red Solo Cup." The crowd sang along to every song, word for word.

Keith also played songs that never made it onto an album. These songs were made during his time on the road or out with service members on forward operating bases. The songs were about Willie Nelson, recruiters and salty colonels.

"I had so much fun listening to Toby Keith," said Blayne Sisson, 7, whose father is a section chief for 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, and a native of Mount Carmel, Ill. "Toby is the man! It was the best country music I have ever heard."

After playing for nearly an hour, Keith handed off his guitar and walked off stage. The crowd knew the show wasn't over. To their surprise, a bugler from the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band walked on stage to play evening colors.

After the American flag was brought down, the crowd started to chant "Toby, Toby, Toby."

Soon, he answered the call and reappeared on the huge USO stage to perform one last song.

"American Soldier" was the last song played for ev-eryone. Realizing who his audience was, Keith changed the words to "American Warrior." Nearly every hand was raised in the air in celebration of a great show. "We get thank you's all the time, but what people don't know is how much it means for us to be able to play for all of you," Keith said. "It doesn't matter if it's 25 Marines or 5,000 Marines, we appreciate every chance to perform for the military."

Lunar Real Estate Agent Has 'Sold' 7.5% of Moon

The lack of a clear law on space property rights hasn't stopped one man from selling real estate on the moon - and the other solar system bodies as well.

Entrepreneur Dennis Hope of Gardnerville, Nev., has sold millions of acres of property on the moon, Mars, and other heavenly worlds through his company Lunar Embassy Corp., Good Morning America reported this week. Yet many legal experts question whether such deeds would ever hold up in court. "As far as title goes, it's a gray area," international lawyer and space-law expert Timothy Nelson, who works for the firm Skadden in New York City, told SPACE.com in 2011.

The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 forbids countries from claiming territorial sovereignty over the moon or other celestial bodies. It doesn't, however, expressly forbid private companies from staking claims, Hope points out. Whether that argument would hold up to legal scrutiny is unclear, but the uncertainty hasn't stopped Hope from selling space land parcels since 1968. An acre on the moon goes for $19.99, while the same size plot on Mars will set you back $22.49, plus tax and shipping and handling. Hope claims to have sold 7.5 percent of the moon so far, so other lunar land grabbers might want to hurry up, before there's no more room for moon McMansions.
