America's perpetual war against terrorism since September 11th must come to an end, President Barack Obama said today as he announced new restrictions on drone strikes and a fresh effort to close the Guant'anamo Bay prison camp.By Raf Sanchez, Washington

8:09PM BST 23 May 2013

In a major speech to military and political leaders, Mr Obama said the US could not wage "a boundless global war on terror" but must face a new reality where threats come from regional jihadists and home-grown extremists.

"Our systematic effort to dismantle terrorist organisations must continue. But this war, like all wars, must end," Mr Obama said. "That's what history advises. That's what our democracy demands."

As he announced the most significant shift in US counter-terrorism since the fall of the World Trade Centre, Mr Obama said he would restrict his own signature policy of ordering drone strikes around the world.

Although insisting that the targeted killing programme was legal and effective, the President said the US must also exercise "the discipline to constrain that power - or risk abusing it".

Under a new directive signed this week drone strikes would be limited only to those cases where the target represented a "continuing and imminent threat" to the US. He also insisted on "near certainty" that no civilians would be killed before authorising strikes, saying for him and his commanders the deaths of innocents would "haunt us as long as we live".

While the rate of strikes has fallen sharply in Mr Obama's second term, he has already ordered more than 350 attacks compared to only around 50 under his predecessor George W Bush.

Mr Obama declared himself open to the idea of a special court or independent body tasked with reviewing the legality of each strike, although he offered no specifics of how this would work.

Under the directive, the US must show it has exhausted all option for capturing the terrorists before launching a strike but Mr Obama cautioned that special operations raids like the one against Osama bin Laden "cannot be the norm".

The administration's tendency to kill rather than capture has led to criticism it is failing to extract valuable intelligence from targets.

In a significant shift, the US military will now take the lead on drones rather than the more secretive CIA. The military would be the key authority in both the active theatre of war in Afghanistan and more legally complex areas like tribal Pakistan.

Mr Obama once again called for Congress to allow him to fulfil his 2009 promise to close the controversial prison camp at Guant'anamo Bay, which he said had "become a symbol around the world for an America that flouts the rule of law".

He was repeatedly heckled by Medea Benjamin, an activist with the progressive group Code Pink, who called for the immediate closure of Guant'anamo and said "drones are making us less safe".

"The voice of that woman is worth paying attention to," Mr Obama said. "These are tough issues and the suggestion that we can gloss over them is wrong."

Of the 166 men still being detained at the facility in Cuba, 86 are currently slated for release, including more than 50 from Yemen.

Mr Obama said he would restart transferring cleared detainees to Yemen, a process halted in early 2010, and that he would appoint two senior officials "whose sole responsibility will be to achieve the transfer of detainees to third countries".

He emphasised the enormous cost of running the prison site pointing out that the US spends nearly $800,000 per detainee - or 30 times more than it would cost to imprison them on the mainland.

Pointing to the current hunger strike at Guant'anamo, where dozens of detainees are being force fed through tubes, Mr Obama asked: "Is that who we are? Is that something that our Founders foresaw? Is that the America we want to leave to our children?"

He also addressed the recent controversy of government investigators monitoring reporters' phone records saying he was "troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable".

His speech came a day after the US confirmed for the first time it had killed four Americans in drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan, but said only one - Anwar al-Awlaki, the US-born al-Qaeda cleric - had been deliberately targeted.

Aides said Mr Obama, a former constitutional law professor who ran on a civil liberties platform in 2008, had been looking forward to giving the speech and had been working on the text for months.

By Michael Isikoff
National Investigative Correspondent, NBC News

Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on a controversial search warrant that identified Fox News reporter James Rosen as a "possible co-conspirator" in violations of the Espionage Act and authorized seizure of his private emails, a law enforcement official told NBC News on Thursday. The disclosure of the attorney general's role came as President Barack Obama, in a major speech on his counterterrorism policy, said Holder had agreed to review Justice Department guidelines governing investigations that involve journalists.

"I am troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable," Obama said. "Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs."

Rosen, who has not been charged in the case, was nonetheless the target of a search warrant that enabled Justice Department investigators to secretly seize his private emails after an FBI agent said he had "asked, solicited and encouraged ... (a source) to disclose sensitive United States internal documents and intelligence information."

Obama's comments follow a firestorm of criticism that has erupted over disclosures that in separate investigations of leaks of classified information, the Justice Department had obtained private emails that Rosen exchanged with a source and the phone records of Associated Press reporters.

Holder previously said he recused himself from the AP subpoena because he had been questioned as a witness in the underlying investigation into a leak about a foiled bomb plot in Yemen. His role in personally approving the Rosen search warrant had not been previously reported.

A Justice Department spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Department of Justice later issued a statement about the review of media guidelines: "This review is consistent with Attorney General Holder's long-standing belief that freedom of the press is essential to our democracy," it said. "At the same time, the attorney general believes that leaks of classified information damage our national security and must be investigated using appropriate law enforcement tools. We remain steadfast in our commitment to following all laws and regulations intended to safeguard national security as well as the First Amendment interests of the press in reporting the news and the public in receiving it."

The law enforcement official said Holder's approval of the Rosen search, in the spring of 2010, came after senior Justice officials concluded there was "probable cause" that Rosen's communications with his source, identified as intelligence analyst Stephen Kim, met the legal burden for such searches. "It was approved at the highest levels-- and I mean the highest," said the law enforcement official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. He said that explicitly included Holder.

Kim has since been indicted on charges that he leaked classified information to Rosen about how North Korea would respond to a United Nations resolution condemning the country's nuclear program. He has denied the charges.

In an affidavit in support of a search warrant to Google for Rosen's emails, an FBI agent wrote that the Fox News journalist -- identified only as "the Reporter" -- had "asked, solicited and encouraged Mr. Kim to disclose sensitive United States internal documents and intelligence information."

"The Reporter did so by employing flattery and playing to Mr. Kim's vanity and ego," it continued. "Much like an intelligence officer would run a clandestine intelligence source, the Reporter instructed Mr. Kim on a covert communications plan that involved" emails from his gmail account.

The affidavit states that FBI agents had tracked Rosen's entrances and exits of the State Department in order to show that they had coincided with Kim's movements. Based on that and other findings, the affidavit by FBI Agent Reginald B. Reyes, stated, "There is probable cause to believe that the Reporter has committed a violation" of the Espionage Act "at the very least, either as an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator of Mr. Kim."

It also said that Google was specifically instructed not to notify "the subscriber" -- Rosen -- that his emails were being seized.

In new documents disclosed Thursday, the Justice Department sought and obtained approval to keep the search warrant, which was approved by a federal magistrate, under seal. It was unsealed in November 2011, but never made a part of the docket of Kim's case and went unnoticed until this week.

Justice officials have since said they do not intend to criminally charge Rosen, but media groups have condemned the issuance of the search warrant itself.

"The Justice Department's decision to treat routine newsgathering efforts as evidence of criminality is extremely troubling and corrodes time-honored understandings between the public and the government about the role of the free press," said Bruce Brown, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.

In his speech Thursday, Obama reiterated his determination to pursue leak investigations. "We must enforce consequences for those who break the law and breach their commitment to protect classified information," he said.

But, he said, "Our focus must be on those who break the law," not journalists. He said he was calling on Congress to pass a media shield law and had raised the issue with Holder, "who shares my concern."

As part of the Justice Department review of guidelines, the president said, Holder will convene a group of media organizations to hear their views and "report back to me by July 12th."

NBC News Chief Justice Correspondent Pete Williams contributed to this report.

Searching for the Bedouin father who killed his two little girls; Police station chief dismissed for not preventing this murder

Two days after the murder of two young girls in a Bedouin community near Arad (S.Israel), the commander of the Arad police station and two other officials were dismissed from their posts following a severe oversight - a failure to respond to a complaint filed by the girls' mother against their father one day before the killing.

The bodies of two girls, aged two and four, were found in a house in the Bedouin village of Al Furah near the southern town of Arad Tuesday. The bodies of both girls bore signs of strangulation, apparently with the use of a cord. The girls were in the custody of their father, who lived in Al Furah with his second wife, while the girls' biological mother was living in East Jerusalem.

Police are searching for the father, who has been missing since the bodies were found.

The girls' mother, Abir Dandis, said she received a phone call telling her that her elder daughter was killed by her father, who was enraged by her ex-wife's rendezvous with her daughters last week, apparently against his will. She turned to the Ma'ale Adumim police branch, where she said her entreats to look into her daughters' safety were ignored by the officers on the pretext that they don't deal with residents of the territories.

They directed her to the Arad police station, where she said her appeal was dismissed wholesale, and the officers failed to take her seriously - because she was a resident of the Palestinian territories and a Bedouin. Dandis's lawyers said officers at the Arad station showed blatant contempt and told her to go home.

The findings of an internal probe found those who handled the complaint filed by the girls' mother to be lacking in the department of reporting, command and professionalism - "a failure that goes across police ranks all the way up to the station commander," wrote Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino in a statement.

Chief Superintendent Yoni Zeitek and two of his subordinates were discharged from their posts following the oversights.

"At least I did what I had to do," said the mother. "I was concerned for my daughters, and he took them from me. Now at least they will be buried close to me. He prevented me from seeing them. Now I could visit the grave, which is what comforts me."

Dandis decided to donate her daughters's organs. Her lawyer filed an application on her behalf to bury the girls in east Jerusalem rather than in the Negev.

Regarding the murder investigation, much still remains unclear. The girls' stepmother, suspected of obstruction of justice, is set to be brought for remand at the Beersheba Magistrate Court. Police suspect she may helped the father to flee. The defense counsel, attorney Uri Fishermen, said "the case is shrouded in mystery." The stepmothers' two minor sons were detained as well. One of them has since been released and the other, 17-years-old, was remanded until Sunday.

An MDA source said about the murder that "it was a horrifying sight, especially because the girls were so young. Just finding their bodies and declaring them dead was a traumatic experience for the entire MDA crew."

It's Official: America Is Morally Bankrupt

Moral Relativism and an unwillingness to acknowledge the most basic
standards of absolute right and wrong have led our nation down a
destructive path that can only end in war, economic collapse, or both.
Only revival can save our nation now.

I know that I'm supposed to say that God is in control
and that we should simply pray for our president and put our faith and
trust in the sovereignty of God, but I'm not going to.
or those who seek to live according to the Word of God by the
power of the Holy Spirit, these astonishing election results should
cause us to fall to our knees and grieve for our nation. Colorado has
legalized recreational use of marijuana, while Massachusetts, Maryland,
and Oregon have approved it for medical usage. Maine, Maryland, and
Washington have legalized homosexual marriage .
And Massachusetts has also joined Oregon and Washington in allowing
euthanasia. It has become clear that in every instance where Biblical
values were up for a vote, the American people have chosen to reject
them. This election goes so much deeper than just who was elected
president for the next four years. This election was a barometer of the soul of America, and America is in critical condition. he balance of decency in America has changed. Every society has normal, decent people and the other kind. The America we grew up in was
fundamentally decent. Decency was the expected standard.
Now the balance has changed.

The evidence for our sleazified culture can be seen all around. It is
in our pop music, which has lost melody and now just has rhythm. We
have a President who won on revenge against middle class values. That's
what he meant by telling his people to vote for revenge. And they did -
showing us exactly who they are.
We are now a society divided between the makers and the takers, and the takers are on a campaign of theft and revenge.

We have a President who takes dangerous pride in his hatred for
"middleclassness" as Jeremiah Wright taught him to believe. We have a
President who culminated his campaign with a ghetto singer rapping about
hoes and bitches, about drug-ridden and broken families, as if all
those cruelties were good. This is not normal, decent America.

It is not. We need to face that.

" We're actually redistributing from the future to the present.
We are borrowing money that is yet to be earned by generations yet to be
born, in order to bribe people with the Obama phones and all the rest..."Much of today's language usage demonstrates a desire to be nonjudgmental. People used to shack up; now they cohabit or are living partners. Few young women of yesteryear would have felt comfortable to
publicly declare they slept around. Unmarried women used to give birth
to a bastard; later, this was upgraded to an illegitimate birth or a non-marital birth. In many instances, unwed mothers proudly hold baby showers celebrating their illegitimate offspring, and the man, if known, who sired the baby is referred to as "my baby's daddy" or sometimes as
"my baby daddy." Homosexual marriages, which are not a basic human survival trait,
were unheard of; today, in some jurisdictions, homosexual marriages have
legal sanction. To be judgmental about modern codes of conduct is to
risk being labeled a prude, racist, sexist or a homophobe. People ignore
the fact that to accept another's right to engage in certain peaceable,
voluntary behavior doesn't require moral acceptance or sanction.
Think back to former President Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky and the nation's response that "it was just about sex." Therefore, it was no big thing for the president and his men to become involved in witness tampering, perjury, obstruction of justice and a White House-organized attack on Kenneth Starr, an officer of the court. Most Americans thought removal from office was too harsh for Clinton's lawlessness.
That kind of lawlessness helped establish a precedent for lawless
acts by President Barack Obama. His most recent was an executive order
that suspended legal liability for young people who are brought to our
country illegally by their parents. He also repealed the legal
requirement that welfare recipients must work, by simply redefining
"work" to include other things, such as going to classes on weight
control. Then there are waivers from Obamacare for favored allies -
waivers that offend the principle of equality before the law.
Whether the president's actions were good or bad ideas or not is
irrelevant. What's relevant is whether we want to establish a precedent
whereby a president, who has no constitutional authority to repeal parts
of congressional legislation, can grant special favors and rule by
presidential decree like Third World tyrants.
I don't hold President Obama completely responsible for his
unconstitutional actions. It's the American people who are to blame, for
it is we who have lost our morality and our love, knowledge and respect
for our Constitution, laying the foundation for Washington tyranny. The paternal state not only feeds its children, but nurtures, educates, comforts, and disciplines them, providing all they need for
their security. This appears to be a mildly insulting way to treat
adults, but it is really a great crime because it transforms the state
from being a gift of God, given to protect us against violence, into an
idol. It supplies us with all blessings, and we look to it for all our
needs. Once we sink to that level, as Lewis says, there is no
point in telling state officials to mind their own business. "Our whole
lives are their business."
The paternalism of the state is that of the bad parent who wants his children dependent on him forever .
That is an evil impulse. The good parent prepares his children for
independence, trains them to make responsible decisions, knows that he
harms them by not helping them to break loose. The paternal state
thrives on dependency. When the dependents free themselves, it loses
power. It is, therefore, parasitic on the very persons whom it turns
into parasites. Thus, the state and its dependents march symbiotically
to destruction.Throughout history, God has always chosen to work through weak, frail, inadequate human beings who are willing to give Him whatever they
have, and allow Him to use that for His glory and purposes. But for too
long now, the Church in America has sat back and made excuses for our
laziness and apathy by saying, "God's in control." And while I fully believe that God IS in
control, I realize that He has chosen to limit Himself to a great
extent by what He can do through His people. We can no longer afford to
bury our heads in the sand, hoping for things to get better. It's time
for God's people to rise up. We need revival. And revival never comes to an apathetic
people. In fact, revival most often comes to a people suffering from
persecution. It is during persecution that God's people take their eyes
off of their own frivolous desires and petty differences, and return to
simple faith in God based upon hearing and obeying His Word. And let me
assure you, persecution is coming. The virtual prison of political correctness, tolerance, and
celebrating diversity, will soon move into a radical agenda that
attempts to silence the voices of those who speak out against sin and
the evil that dwells in the hearts of men. Those who refuse to be
silenced will be branded as religious extremists and relegated to the
fringes of society. Two of our most sacred rights as Americans - Freedom
of Religion, and Freedom of Speech - will be chipped away at until we
will no longer recognize the country that we were born in.
But in that persecution is the hope that awaits America. As the
persecution grows, the Church will be forced to return to God's
principles of love, obedience, justice, holiness, compassion, truth, and
faithfulness. The Church in America will once again become the salt and
light that Jesus told us we are supposed to be. And when all is said
and done, I believe that revival will come to America. And that revival
can spread to the world.

The UN Goes Hard Core

The UN has decided to change its peacekeeping policy and try the more aggressive and violent peacemaking approach in situations where the peacekeepers don't seem to make much difference. The UN now wants to form such a peacemaking force in the Congo, to hunt down and forcibly disarm and disband militias that have resisted over a decade of peacekeeping efforts. This "intervention brigade" would have three infantry battalions, an artillery battery, a special operations company, a signals unit and other support units, lots of armored vehicles, and some air support. The UN first has to find nations willing to provide their troops for this task. That may prove difficult. The UN hopes to get half the troops from existing peacekeeper contingents and the other half from new contributions. Thus the total size of the UN Congo force would stay below the 22,000 troops the UN has authorized. If all goes according to plan, the intervention brigade would be ready for action in about five months. For the last 14 years the UN peacekeeping force in Congo has grown to 16,000 troops and two thousand support personnel. Nearly 200 peacekeeper personnel have been killed since 1999, and the rebel militias are still a threat in eastern Congo. The new brigade would be more heavily armed and better equipped than peacekeepers. More importantly, the UN would give this brigade a license to kill and permission to attack, even if not fired on first. The UN has long refused to get involved in peacemaking but Congo is its biggest peacekeeping operation and the least successful. The UN apparently feels that they either have to go on the offensive and put down the rebels or declare their efforts in Congo an expensive failure and get out.

Peacekeeping has been a lot easier to get involved in since the Cold War ended in 1991. During the Cold War, the Russians (the Soviet Union) still maintained that they were the "vanguard of world revolution" and supported just about any anti-Western rebels out there. Because Russia had a veto in the UN, it was able to stop any UN peacekeeping operation it did not approve of. This murderous mischief eventually contributed to the collapse of the Soviet Union, as adventures in Afghanistan and elsewhere proved very expensive and often embarrassing as well.

Freed from the Soviet veto, the UN got into the peacekeeping business in a big way after 1991, and failed spectacularly. You'd never know this from reading UN press releases. Even before the Cold War ended, the UN had decades of experience in issuing glowing press releases to cover up yet another boondoggle. It was never much of a secret that the UN bureaucracy was corrupt and inept but the UN was considered such a valuable diplomatic forum that everyone pretended all the bad news didn't matter. The UN had perfected the art of waiting around for something good to happen, then taking credit for it. When bad things happened, you could always find someone else to blame.

The UN developed a pretty slick routine for peacekeeping. In most cases their peacekeepers came in after the fighting was over and peace was breaking out anyway. This was because a major problem with the UN was that they were very reluctant to get involved in any fighting ("peacemaking"), even if such action would save many lives. There were any number of bureaucratic maneuvers the UN could employ, without even bothering the members for a vote, to avoid a possibly dangerous peacekeeping situation. There is a practical, or at least political, reason for this. Many UN members are tyrannies, who regularly kill their own people in large numbers. If the UN should suddenly get active about taking care of situations where thugs are killing innocent civilians, many UN members would be highly qualified targets. Thus the UN peacekeepers must be very peaceful, even if atrocities are committed in the vicinity of the peacekeepers.

Once the UN peacekeepers are in the field, a major concern is minimizing bad news getting out about misbehavior among the peacekeepers. The UN pays a rate that is below what professional troops from the West get but above what professional and conscript armies in less affluent nations get. As a result, the UN takes what it can get, usually from less affluent nations. Many contributing nations are not keen to send their best troops, so the ones who show up for peacekeeping are a mixed bag. Some of them are poorly trained, led, and disciplined. These guys get into trouble, with women, with looting, and with stealing from the UN. Officials from the UN prefer to keep all the embezzlement to themselves as that makes it harder for the media to get hard evidence.

The UN peacemaking programs emphasize looking good over actually accomplishing anything. This is why most UN peacekeeping operations later turn out to be more smoke and mirrors than anything of substance. The UN denies this in general but gets nervous when you get down to details.

Many people working for the UN mean well but, let's face it, an international bureaucracy only functions if the least number of member nations are offended, with emphasis on "least". Someone is always hacked off about something. For example, the United States has long been critical about the corruption and inefficiency. The UN attempts to placate the U.S. (which is, after all, the largest contributor of funds) but cannot really crack down on the corruption too hard without offending nations that hold the majority of the votes in the UN.

So the next time you see mention of "UN peacekeepers," keep in mind that there's a lot more than peacekeeping going on. The intervention brigade means to change that. But given the UN track record, this will probably not turn out well.

Russian S-300 Deliveries to Syria 'Destabilizing' - Kerry

TEL AVIV, May 23 (RIA Novosti) - The sale by Russia of S-300 air defense systems to Syria would be "destabilizing" for the region, US Secretary State John Kerry said on Thursday.

"S-300 missiles coming from Russia, or other countries, Iranian missiles, are destabilizing to the region," Kerry said. "The United States is committed, not only in its defense of Israel, but in its concerns for the region to try to address this issue."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier this month that Russia would honor a deal with Syria to supply it with S-300 air defense systems.

"Those who do not plan aggressive actions against a sovereign state have nothing to worry about, because means of air defense - and this is clear from the name - are a purely defensive system required to repel air attacks," Lavrov said.

He also said the deal was signed before Israel planes hit targets in Syria earlier this month.

S-300 is widely acknowledged by defense analysts as one of the world's most advanced air defense systems. An S-300 battery would "provide coverage of much of northern and central Israel if deployed in the south west of Syria for targets other than those at low altitude," Douglas Barrie, an air warfare analyst with the London-based International Institute of Strategic Studies, told RIA Novosti earlier this month.

The sale of Russian weapons to Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime has been a source of bilateral tension between Moscow and Washington, with US officials accusing Russia of arming a regime the United States says is killing its own citizens in Syria's raging civil war.

Last week, Washington criticized Moscow for delivering advanced Yakhont anti-ship missiles to Damascus, and last year called on Russia not to deliver overhauled helicopter gunships to the Assad regime.

Russia, however, has insisted that the deliveries are legal under international law and that it is not supplying Syria, the largest importer of Russian arms in the Middle East, with offensive weapons which can be used to kill civilians.

Horsemeat scandal: Dutch trader Willy Selten arrested

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22639020

It was reported that 50,000 tonnes of meat sold as beef by Mr Selten may have contained horsemeat

A Dutch meat wholesaler, Willy Selten, has been arrested for allegedly selling 300 tonnes of horsemeat as beef, officials say.

Mr Selten, who owns meat wholesaler Willy Selten BV, was arrested with the company's interim director.

The public prosecutor said they were suspected of false accounting and fraud.

In April, it was reported that 50,000 tonnes of meat sold as beef by Mr Selten may have contained horsemeat.

The Dutch food safety authority, the NVWA, asked hundreds of
companies across Europe supplied by Mr Selten to check their products.
"The business allegedly received 300 tonnes of horsemeat from
the Netherlands, England and Ireland in 2011 and 2012," the
prosecutor's statement said.
The company's accounts showed this horsemeat was processed as beef, according to the statement.

The EU is set to adopt legislation to tackle food fraud.

The accounts did not say where the meat came from or where it went to.

Speaking on Dutch TV on Wednesday night, Mr Selten said the allegations made no sense and denied criminal activity.

"We never stuck labels on something that wasn't beef."

Mr Selten's company was declared bankrupt in April.

The horsemeat scare began in Ireland in January, rapidly spreading to the UK, France, Switzerland, Sweden and Germany.

The EU is set to adopt an Animal and Plant Health legislative
proposal in the coming weeks, which includes clauses designed to tackle
food fraud.

A B.C. man missing and feared kidnapped in Mexico is facing drug charges in Victoria Supreme Court.

Diego Hernandez, 22, was arrested by Saanich police in September 2010
and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
and possession of a stolen TV.

According to court documents, Hernandez was released without a bail
hearing, on a promise to appear in court. In October 2012, after a
preliminary inquiry, Hernandez was committed to stand trial in B.C.
Supreme Court. The judge-alone trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 9.

Hernandez was living in Langford a the time of his arrest, said Saanich
Sgt. Steve Eassie. Although he was allegedly found with a "substantial
amount" of cocaine, Hernandez was released on a promise to appear
because he did not have a criminal record.

Hernandez trained and competed in mixed martial arts and ran a gym in
Puerto Vallarta. He and his friend Craig Silva from Phoenix, Ariz.,
disappeared May 8, three days after organizing a mixed martial arts
fighting event.

Victoria lawyer Ryan Drury, who has been representing Hernandez since
the fall of 2010, last saw his client in September when he visited
Puerto Vallarta.

"He was competing and training down there. He appeared to have things
in order with his mixed martial arts," Drury said Tuesday. "He's just a
young guy. It's all really sad."

The families of Hernandez and Silva are frantically searching for
information on what they believe is a kidnapping. The pair was last seen
in Silva's truck, which has since been recovered by Mexican
authorities.

Reached in Puerto Vallarta, Hernandez's mother, Melissa Canez, said her
son and Silva had been planning to withdraw money from Silva's account
to pay for some of the event's expenses. Soon after they obtained the
money, they dropped off Silva's girlfriend at a local university, she
said.

Canez said she suspected the two men were kidnapped when she was told that they did not return to pick up Silva's girlfriend.

The online newspaper Noticias Puerto Vallarta says Puerto Vallarta's
director of public safety, Silvestre Chavez, didn't learn of the men's
disappearance until five days later and has launched an investigation.

Canez said her son's girlfriend filed a missing persons report within 48 hours.

Hernandez's girlfriend also received a call from someone who claimed he
saw the two men being arrested by municipal police the same day they
went missing, Canez said.

She said she has seen surveillance footage of an unknown man
withdrawing money at a bank using Silva's card. There is also apparently
another surveillance video that shows Hernandez withdrawing cash at an
ATM while flanked by two masked people, she said. One of the men's bank
card was also used at a convenience store, she added.

Hernandez lived in Coquitlam before moving two years ago to live with
his mother in Puerto Vallarta, where she operates an orphanage for
girls.

The mixed martial arts event that he put on earlier this month was in
collaboration with another business partner who was mostly in charge of
the finances.

According to Canez, Hernandez was approached a few days before the
event by somebody who wanted a percentage of the earnings. Her son
refused, she said.

"I was terrified," she said. "I said to him, 'You can't say no to those
people ... I think you should leave, like get on the plane right now.' "

Canez said Hernandez and his partner were having trouble paying some
expenses for the event. As a result, Silva, whom Hernandez has known for
more than a year, became a partner.

All of those events have led Canez to suspect that someone close to Hernandez and Silva was involved with their disappearance.

"I think that somebody tipped these people off that Diego and Craig
were going to have a substantial amount of cash on them that day," she
said.

Puerto Vallarta police said no information would be given on the case at this time.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Foreign Affairs and International Trade
Canada confirmed that consular officials are providing services to the
family of a Canadian citizen reported missing in Mexico, and that they
are in contact with local authorities.

FACT:
This administration which was twice elected in part through fraud has
repeatedly violated the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution. These
incidents have been covered at length in prior commentaries.

FACT: Congress thus far has done nothing about these heinous crimes
against the security of the United States, its citizens, and our
founding documents but hold committee hearings.

The Democrat-controlled Senate is obstructive and culpable for not
adhering to the rule of law and enforcing the Constitution. The lame
street press has willfully ignored and even tried to divert attention
from facts which attest to the cover-up which have been perpetuated by
the Administration.

The specifics include the following most egregious (but by no means all) violations:

1. Election fraud and manipulation in 2008 and 2012 including ACORN's
involvement in the 2010 census, conveyance of funds to ACORN by the
Administration in blatant disregard for Congressional deauthorization of
such funding due to proven fraud, and the DOJ's unwillingness to
prevent tyranny at polling places by groups such as the New Black
Panthers. And these are just a few examples.

2. Criminal misuse of taxpayer TARP funds for political payback.

3. Willful disregard for enforcement of existing Federal immigration laws and our borders.

4. 'Fast and Furious' gunrunning to Mexican drug cartels, known by the
DOJ, as a ploy to eventually wage war against our Second Amendment
rights.

5. Disregard for DOMA which IS Federal law passed by the Congress under President Clinton.

6. Passage of the NDAA which does not prohibit Obama's Secretary of
Defense and Secretary of State from denying Americans their basic
constitutional rights of habeas corpus and posse Comitatus.

7. Aiding and abetting our enemies through security leaks to the New
York Times and Islamic groups resulting in the deaths of Navy SEALS
shot down over Pakistan, and imprisonment of a doctor who was an
informant leading to Bin Laden's supposed death.

8. Appointment of unconstitutional Czars to administer Obama's ideology
of destruction of American liberties and federal government control of
the American people in all ways possible---Obamacare; EPA targets of
industry and private citizens; tax schemes to enrich the powerful elite;
holding a corrupt United Nations agenda of universal control and
tyrannical laws above the U.S. Constitution (specifically regarding our
Second Amendment rights and energy security).

9. Benghazi: Supplying Islamic groups with weapons to overthrow their
regimes (the 'Arab Spring') while ignoring the safety of our military
and CIA officials resulting in their deaths at the hands of Islamic
terrorists---then conducting a massive ATTEMPTED cover up of Obama's
real agenda which was to place his reelection as a priority over the
safety of Americans, while imprisoning someone who produced an
irrelevant and unknown video as the scapegoat for the Admininstration's
agenda (and he still has not been released!).

10. Violating the First Amendment through IRS abuse of citizens and businesses based on their political views.

11. Spying on the AP thereby illegally threatening the freedom of the press.

FACT: A partial list of those guilty either directly or indirectly of
treasonous, unconstitutional, and/or unlawful actions include

Hillary Clinton;

Susan Rice;

Eric Holder and certain DOJ officials;

the IRS commissioner and his abusive underlings;

Admiral Mullins and Thomas Pickering  (Benghazi coverup);

Kathleen Sebelius;

Janet Napolitano;

WH spokesman Jay Carney (the liar);

any Senators and other Administration officials knowledgeable about but
ignoring any or all of the above encroachments on the rule of law and
the Constitution.

In conclusion, America is now governed by TYRANNY without a peep from
the lame street media which is complicit. The Obama administration and
its anti-American criminal allies must go! Congress must make it happen
or We the People must follow our Constitution to preserve the
Republic.
