Two hot air balloons collided mid-air during a sightseeing tour of volcanic rock formations in Turkey on Monday, causing one of them to crash to the ground, officials said. One Brazilian tourist was killed while 24 other people on board were injured. The ascending balloon struck another balloon's wicker basket above it, causing a tear that sent it plunging to the ground, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported. The passengers on board the balloon that crashed were mostly tourists from Asia, Spain and Brazil, according to Abdurrahman Savas, the governor of Nevsehir province. Many had fractured bones and one of them, an elderly passenger, was in serious condition. The balloons were flying above scenic canyons and volcanic cones of the Cappadocia region, a popular tourist destination some 300 kilometres from the capital, Ankara. Barack Obama on the 2008 presidential election primary ballot, meaning he likely did not qualify. Fox News reports the jury in South Bend found guilty on all counts former longtime St. Joseph County Democratic Party chairman Butch Morgan Jr. and former county Board of Elections worker Dustin Blythe. The two faced accusations of petition fraud and forgery, as well as falsely making a petition. The verdicts raise anew questions about election fraud by Democrats, a subject that was analyzed after the 2012 election. The report found vote fraud occurred in the 2012 presidential election and cumulatively was likely enough to decide the outcome. Fox News reported that two former Indiana elections board officials who pleaded guilty said Morgan told Democrat officials and workers to fake the names and signatures that Obama and Hillary Clinton needed to qualify for the presidential race. Prosecutor Stan Levco told Fox, "I think this helped uphold the integrity of the electoral system. Their verdict of guilt is not a verdict against Democrats, but for honest and fair elections." Affidavits citing the testimony of former Board of Registration worker Lucas Burkett said the scheme was created in January 2008. Burkett reportedly was aboard the plan at first but later dropped out. Fox News reported he waited three years to reveal the scheme. Fox News notes that if revelations about any forgeries were raised during the election, the petitions could have been challenged at that time. A candidate who did not qualify with enough legitimate signatures at the time could have been removed from the ballot. State law in Indiana requires candidates to have 500 signatures from each of the nine congressional districts to qualify. But in St. Joseph County, Obama qualified with only 534. Prosecutors alleged that nine of the Obama petition pages apparently were forged, and each contained up to 10 names, bringing doubt on up to 90 names. Some of the issues that were uncovered: o Seventy-five GOP vote inspectors were ordered to leave Philadelphia poll locations by Democrat poll judges. One judge was caught on audio. A court order sent them back but it's unknown what happened when they were gone. These poll locations were all within the 59 precincts where Romney received no votes. o In Philadelphia, the Community Voters Project, an ACORN clone that employs some former ACORN workers, shredded Republican voter registrations. It's not the first time they have been in trouble. o The Florida AFL-CIO threatened True the Vote and Tampa Fair Vote with legal action for submitting voter registration challenges. o Maryland Representative Elijah Cummings issued a highly publicized threat against True the Vote and Election Integrity Maryland just for checking voter rolls. EIM found 11,000 questionable registrations, including 1,566 dead voters. The Maryland Board of Elections took no action. o Cummings also attacked the Ohio Voter Integrity Project with the same baseless claims. o Think Progress falsely claimed True the Vote was "under investigation" by Rep. Cummings, when in fact he has no legal authority to do so. o Despite overwhelming nonpartisan public support for voter ID laws, Attorney General Eric Holder's Justice Department and liberal jurists have delayed, emasculated or defeated ID laws in Texas, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Arizona and Pennsylvania. o Holder has vowed to fight voter ID laws as restricting voters' rights. o The Obama administration "spiked investigations" of eight states that had major voter roll problems. o The Holder Justice Department conspired with Project Vote on National Voter Registration Act (aka Motor Voter) enforcement lawsuits, which force state and local agencies to become, essentially, low income voter registration drives. o In 2009 DOJ announced to its attorneys that it would not enforce voter roll maintenance laws because it wouldn't increase voter turnout. The report also found the election rolls nationwide in shambles. Pew Research Center published a report revealing election rolls in a shambles nationwide. It found: o 24 million invalid or inaccurate voter registrations o 1.8 million deceased voters o 2.75 million registered in multiple states. The WND report also focused on the mechanics of the election: voting machines. There were a number of complaints about electronic voting machines that tallied votes for Democrats despite a Republican vote and a few instances of the opposite case. o Voters in Pueblo County, Colo., complained that their votes were being changed to Obama, reported local NBC affiliate KOAA. o Maryland congressional candidate and veteran investigative journalist Ken Timmerman reported many voters claiming this happened to them, lodging complaints with vote judges. Timmerman has requested to see voting machine records. o Maryland Delegate Kathy Afzali and Carroll County Commissioner Richard Rothschild have requested the FBI impound two electronic voting machines suspected of switching votes based on complaints from other voters, including a state official. o Robert Ashcroft, a Republican poll watcher in Allentown, Pa., reported that about 5 to 10 percent of electronic votes would "change the selection back to default - to Obama." o EVM problems were also reported to have occurred in Ohio, Nevada, North Carolina and Texas. o A 2008 Fox News report showed how electronic voting machines can be infected with a computer virus to change votes. A Princeton University study in 2006 found the same thing. And the fraud didn't go unnoticed. A few of the higher-profile cases: o Patrick Moran, son of longtime U.S. Rep. Jim Moran, was caught on video by James O'Keefe's Veritas Project, telling an undercover journalist how to commit vote fraud. o Other Veritas videos showed Obama campaign officials in Texas, New Jersey and New York providing multiple forms to journalists posing as voters so that they could vote in two or more states. o On Election Day, Veritas reporters recorded poll officials on camera telling voters not to vote for Romney. o The Obama campaign continues to accept illegal donations from other countries. Thomas McInerney, a former United States Air Force Lieutenant General, said that the President showed a 'lack of respect' by making the soldier shelter him from a shower. He also said that the President has plenty of aides so did not understand why one of them could not have held the umbrella. The President caused a stir when he summoned over two marines to keep him dry at a press conference in the Rose Garden. The marines held an umbrella over the President and the Turkish Prime Minister individually as Obama made jokes about the weather. However, for some the move was not a laughing matter particularly as it is a breach of protocol for marines to hold umbrellas while in uniform. Lt Gen McInerney told MailOnline that he found it particularly insulting how the President at one point his his hand under the marine's arm 'like he wasn't doing a good job or something'. He said: 'The President has stood in the rain before without an umbrella and a marine would generally stand there without holding an umbrella.' 'He isn't some kind of butler or something. 'It makes the other guy (the other marine) look like a butler too.' 'I think it's a lack of respect for the marine, that's what I think.' 'I don't understand why one of his aides could not have held the umbrella. The marine is a warrior but the aides are not.' Lt Gen McInerney, 76, served in Vietnam and fought with NATO and was commander of the 11th Air Force in Alaska before retiring. He said: 'If I was his (the marine's) commander...I'd say good job, you did what he wanted you to do but you can't, really he has to keep his comments to himself because if you say anything you're going to get in trouble.' 'Any time a marine has said something...one general who spoke out, he got fired, he got canned from his job.' Lt Gen McInerney also lashed out at the President for not doing enough to support soldiers when they return home from combat.' He said: 'The President talks a good line but he doesn't follow a good line. These guys are coming home and they're not getting what they are supposed to get.' 'The guy's (Obama) got to get real and he's got to start doing stuff the right way and answering questions in the right manner, not changing subject in the middle of the interview.' According to Marine Corps regulations, not even the President of the United States can request a Marine to carry an umbrella without the express permission of the Commandant of the Marine Corps. The Marine Corp Manual, which is the bible for all soldiers serving, specifically states that a soldier's uniform dress code does not allow the carrying of an umbrella and 'no officer or official shall issue instructions which conflict with, alter, or amend any provision without the approval of the Commandant of the Marine Corps.' Indeed, male Marines are informed never to carry an umbrella from the earliest phases of training. Regulation MCO P1020.34F of the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations chapter 3, rules out any use or carrying of an umbrella while a Marine is in uniform. However, female Marines 'may carry an all-black, plain standard or collapsible umbrella at their option during inclement weather with the service and dress uniforms. It will be carried in the left hand so that the hand salute can be properly rendered.' Many commentators found the use of the marines to be particularly insensitive, given the President was answering questions on Benghazi. The lack of marines protecting Ambassador Chris Stevens at the Libyan consulate and the failure to deploy marines to protect him amid the outbreak of violence has come under fire ever since last year's attack on September 11. Usually a marine guard would be in force at an overseas diplomatic compound but in Benghazi the government opted to use a private Libyan security team. Stevens had made repeated appeals for improved security at the Libyan base but to no avail. Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a CIA security team stationed a mile away who heard gunshots and intervened to try and help Stevens. They were also killed in an attack on their compound. When violence broke out there were also delays sending in marines to assist. A rapid response team were twice told to stand down amid the chaos while reports at the time said the Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team was delayed because the state department ordered them to deplane and change into civilian clothing. Answering questions on Benghazi, President Obama said the government was ' continuing to review our security at high-threat diplomatic posts' in light of the attack. At the press conference originally intended to be a victory lap for the United States' relationship with Turkey, Obama stood alongside Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan and fielded questions which quickly shifted to the trio of scandals that are engulfing his administration. He also dodged questions about the IRS's targeting of conservative groups, and said 'I offer no apologies' for the Department of Justice's secret seizure of reporter's phone records in search of a classified intelligence leak. He has been under growing pressure over these issues and Benghazi in recent weeks. It has emerged that his State Department political appointees intervened in the aftermath of the 2012 terror attack, in a process that resulted in a misleading set of talking points which ignored terrorism in favor of a more muted explanation, in the midst of a re-election campaign. Addressing the Benghazi fallout pre-emptively before Erdogan spoke, Obama said that 'at my direction, we've been taking a series of steps that were recommended by the review board.' He spoke of various measures he was recommending, to 'learn the lessons of Benghazi.' But he referred to the murders of four Americans there as an 'incident,' not a terror attack. He said: 'That's why, at my direction, we've been taking a series of steps that were recommended by the review board after the incident. We're continuing to review our security at high-threat diplomatic posts, including the size and nature of our presence; improving training for those headed to dangerous posts; increasing intelligence and warning capabilities.' 'And I've directed the Defense Department to ensure that our military can respond lightning quick in times of crisis.' And his remarks focused on 'properly funding' the State Department and Pentagon-run security at diplomatic posts, shifting the burden to Congress to 'provide resources and new authorities so that we can implement all the recommendations of the Accountability Review Board which issued a report last month'. He said: 'We're going to need Congress's help in terms of increasing the number of our Marine Corps Guard who protect our embassies. 'We're not going to be able to do this alone,' Obama said. 'We need Congress.' The review board is under fire for failing to interview high-level Obama administration figures, including then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Interviewing Clinton, Republicans on Capitol Hill have said, would have provided insights into who was accountable for lapses in security that left the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya vulnerable to attack. But despite Obama's plea for more funding, money was not an issue in the months before the Benghazi attack when consular officials in Libya asked the State Department for more security forces. Those requests were repeatedly denied, and neither Hillary Clinton nor other State Department officials have raised a lack of funding as the reason more special forces were not on the scene. On the night of the Benghazi attack, the State Department refused to authorize an existing special forces team in the Libyan capital city of Tripoli to board a military C-130 plane headed to Benghazi, despite their readiness to intervene. The Obama administration said later that the decision was made because the forces would not have arrived at the consulate, which was under attack, in time to make a difference. The State Department has been silent on the question of how it knew how long the armed, military-style assault from Islamist terror groups would last. Dream Works was formed in 1994 amid great media hype by recording industry mogul David Geffen, former Disney Pictures chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg, and film director Steven Spielberg, all three of whom are Jews. The company produces movies, animated films, television programs, and recorded music. Two other large production companies, MCA and Universal Pictures, are both owned by Seagram Company, Ltd. The president and CEO of Seagram, the liquor giant, is Edgar Bronfman Jr., who is also president of the World Jewish Congress. It is well known that Jews have controlled the production and distribution of films since the inception of the movie industry in the early decades of the 20th century. This is still the case today. Films produced by just the five largest motion picture companies mentioned above-Disney, Warner Brothers, Sony, Paramount (Viacom), and Universal (Seagram)-accounted for 74 per cent of the total box-office receipts for the first eight months of 1995. The big three in television network broadcasting used to be ABC, CBS, and NBC. With the consolidation of the media empires, these three are no longer independent entities. The Print Media After television news, daily newspapers are the most influential information medium in America. Sixty million of them are sold (and presumably read) each day. These millions are divided among some 1,500 different publications. One might conclude that the sheer number of different newspapers across America would provide a safeguard against Jewish control and distortion. However, this is not the case. There is less independence, less competition, and much less representation of our interests than a casual observer would think. The days when most cities and even towns had several independently owned newspapers published by local people with close ties to the community are gone. The Newhouse empire of Jewish brothers Samuel and Donald Newhouse provides an example of more than the lack of real competition among America's daily newspapers: it also illustrates the insatiable appetite Jews have shown for all the organs of opinion control on which they could fasten their grip. The Newhouses own 26 daily newspapers, including several large and important ones, such as the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Newark Star-Ledger, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune; the nation's largest trade book publishing conglomerate, Random House, with all its subsidiaries; Newhouse Broadcasting, consisting of 12 television broadcasting stations and 87 cable-TV systems, including some of the country's largest cable networks; the Sunday supplement Parade, with a circulation of more than 22 million copies per week; some two dozen major magazines, including the New Yorker, Vogue, Madmoiselle, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Bride's, Gentlemen's Quarterly, Self, House & Garden, and all the other magazines of the wholly owned Conde Nast group. This Jewish media empire was founded by the late Samuel Newhouse, an immigrant from Russia. The gobbling up of so many newspapers by the Newhouse family was in large degree made possible by the fact that newspapers are not supported by their subscribers, but by their advertisers. It is advertising revenue-not the small change collected from a newspaper's readers-that largely pays the editor's salary and yields the owner's profit. Whenever the large advertisers in a city choose to favor one newspaper over another with their business, the favored newspaper will flourish while its competitor dies. Since the beginning of the 20th century, when Jewish mercantile power in America became a dominant economic force, there has been a steady rise in the number of American newspapers in Jewish hands, accompanied by a steady decline in the number of competing Gentile newspapers-primarily as a result of selective advertising policies by Jewish merchants. Of similar national importance is the Washington Post, which, by establishing its "leaks" throughout government agencies in Washington, has an inside track on news involving the Federal government. The Washington Post, like the New York Times, had a non-Jewish origin. It was established in 1877 by Stilson Hutchins, purchased from him in 1905 by John McLean, and later inherited by Edward McLean. In June 1933, however, at the height of the Great Depression, the newspaper was forced into bankruptcy. It was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Eugene Meyer, a Jewish financier. The Washington Post is now run by Katherine Meyer Graham, Eugene Meyer's daughter. She is the principal stockholder and the board chairman of the Washington Post Co. In 1979, she appointed her son Donald publisher of the paper. He now also holds the posts of president and CEO of the Washington Post Co. It is owned by Dow Jones & Company, Inc., a New York corporation which also publishes 24 other daily newspapers and the weekly financial tabloid Barron's, among other things. The chairman and CEO of Dow Jones is Peter Kann, who is a Jew. Kann also holds the posts of chairman and publisher of the Wall Street Journal. There is no mention in the report of the what Clinton or Obama did related to Benghazi. In fact, Obama isn't mentioned at all in the document, and Clinton only once - in the context of her appointing the Review Board. There is no suggestion that Clinton or Obama were interviewed or even examined by the investigation. What's more, Accountability Review Boards are part of statutory State Department process that is not legally permitted to investigate the president. It's not even clear that an Accountability Review Board is permitted to probe the Secretary of State. The purview of a Review Board covers "employees" of the State Department who could be subject to discipline by the Secretary of State, who presumably would not be tasked to discipline herself. Despite all this, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney Wednesday suggested the Review Board report exculpates Clinton. From the briefing: Q So the White House is confident that Hillary Clinton acted appropriately throughout this process? MR. CARNEY: We are. And I think I would point you to the Accountability Review Board and what - Q Which didn't - MR. CARNEY: I think I would point you to the report the put out. I would point you to what the two heads of that board, Ambassador Pickering and Admiral Mullen - each highly praised by both sides of the aisle for their long, distinguished careers - put out in a statement this week: "From the beginning of the ARB process, we had unfettered access to everyone and everything, including all of the documentation we needed. Our marching orders were to get to the bottom of what happened, and that is what we did." Again, this is an unsparing report done by two career professionals, nonpartisan career professionals, that contain within it very serious recommendations, found shortcomings that needed to be corrected, and the State Department acted immediately on that. But there is no evidence Pickering and Mullin ever talked to Clinton, or that they even sought to. Carney dodged a question about whether Obama was interviewed by the Review Board. Q On the question of the Accountability Review Board, you keep saying it was unsparing and you said they had unfettered access. Did Admiral Mullen and Mr. Pickering interview the President about what he did on the night of September 11th? MR. CARNEY: Again, I will point you to what Admiral Mullen and Ambassador Pickering said and what the report said, beginning with the fact that - this is useful here. The Accountability Review Board investigation, headed by, as I said, two of the most respected, non-partisan leaders in Washington, found that the interagency response was timely and appropriate and "helped save the lives of two severely wounded Americans." Note that this is a classic case of press secretary spin, in which the answer contains a litany of facts wholly unrelated to the question and designed to draw attention away from the fact that the press secretary is not addressing the issue that was raised. It was caught on video, and it's pretty amazing! It's with some relief I can say that's not a fleet of alien spaceships bent on either enslaving the human race or possibly eating us. It's not even a swarm of meteors: what you're actually seeing there is a satellite dramatically breaking up as it re-enters the Earth's atmosphere. And it's even been identified: it was the Cygnus mass simulator, a payload lofted into space by the Antares rocket in April! That was the first successful launch of the rocket by the Orbital Sciences Corporation, placing several small satellites into orbit. Eventually, the rocket will also be equipped with a cargo delivery spacecraft called Cygnus, planned to take supplies to the space station. For the first test flight on Apr. 17, Antares carried a dummy payload with the same mass as a Cygnus to test out the rocket systems. Antares put the Cygnus dummy into a low orbit. At that altitude the atmosphere is thin, but it's there. Over time, drag affected the satellite, lowering its orbit, dropping it into thicker air, slowing and dropping it more. On Thursday night local time (Friday morning, May 10 at about 01:00 UTC), the Cygnus dummy payload dropped down enough to experience re-entry. As it slammed through the atmosphere at several thousand kilometers per hour it compressed the air in front of it, heating it up. The pressure and heat disintegrated the structure, and it fell apart, blazing across the sky. The timing, direction, and speed are all consistent with it being the Antares payload, so it looks like we can move this event from the "UFO" into the "IFO" category. I've seen hundreds of meteors, so I'm pretty familiar with what they look like. I've only witnessed a couple of satellite re-entries, and there's no mistaking the two! Meteors are moving at interplanetary speeds, and zip across the sky. Satellites are more stately, moving at a fraction of a meteor's speed, and you commonly can see the little bits and pieces burning and falling away as they go by. It's astonishing. As more private companies get into the launch game-and with everyone walking around with a private movie studio packed into their phones-we'll be seeing more video like this.
