Moral Relativism and an unwillingness to acknowledge the most basic
standards of absolute right and wrong have led our nation down a
destructive path that can only end in war, economic collapse, or both.
Only revival can save our nation now.

I know that I'm supposed to say that God is in control
and that we should simply pray for our president and put our faith and
trust in the sovereignty of God, but I'm not going to.
or those who seek to live according to the Word of God by the
power of the Holy Spirit, these astonishing election results should
cause us to fall to our knees and grieve for our nation. Colorado has
legalized recreational use of marijuana, while Massachusetts, Maryland,
and Oregon have approved it for medical usage. Maine, Maryland, and
Washington have legalized homosexual marriage .
And Massachusetts has also joined Oregon and Washington in allowing
euthanasia. It has become clear that in every instance where Biblical
values were up for a vote, the American people have chosen to reject
them. This election goes so much deeper than just who was elected
president for the next four years. This election was a barometer of the soul of America, and America is in critical condition. he balance of decency in America has changed. Every society has normal, decent people and the other kind. The America we grew up in was
fundamentally decent. Decency was the expected standard.
Now the balance has changed.

The evidence for our sleazified culture can be seen all around. It is
in our pop music, which has lost melody and now just has rhythm. We
have a President who won on revenge against middle class values. That's
what he meant by telling his people to vote for revenge. And they did -
showing us exactly who they are.
We are now a society divided between the makers and the takers, and the takers are on a campaign of theft and revenge.

We have a President who takes dangerous pride in his hatred for
"middleclassness" as Jeremiah Wright taught him to believe. We have a
President who culminated his campaign with a ghetto singer rapping about
hoes and bitches, about drug-ridden and broken families, as if all
those cruelties were good. This is not normal, decent America.

It is not. We need to face that.

" We're actually redistributing from the future to the present.
We are borrowing money that is yet to be earned by generations yet to be
born, in order to bribe people with the Obama phones and all the rest..."Much of today's language usage demonstrates a desire to be nonjudgmental. People used to shack up; now they cohabit or are living partners. Few young women of yesteryear would have felt comfortable to
publicly declare they slept around. Unmarried women used to give birth
to a bastard; later, this was upgraded to an illegitimate birth or a non-marital birth. In many instances, unwed mothers proudly hold baby showers celebrating their illegitimate offspring, and the man, if known, who sired the baby is referred to as "my baby's daddy" or sometimes as
"my baby daddy." Homosexual marriages, which are not a basic human survival trait,
were unheard of; today, in some jurisdictions, homosexual marriages have
legal sanction. To be judgmental about modern codes of conduct is to
risk being labeled a prude, racist, sexist or a homophobe. People ignore
the fact that to accept another's right to engage in certain peaceable,
voluntary behavior doesn't require moral acceptance or sanction.
Think back to former President Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky and the nation's response that "it was just about sex." Therefore, it was no big thing for the president and his men to become involved in witness tampering, perjury, obstruction of justice and a White House-organized attack on Kenneth Starr, an officer of the court. Most Americans thought removal from office was too harsh for Clinton's lawlessness.
That kind of lawlessness helped establish a precedent for lawless
acts by President Barack Obama. His most recent was an executive order
that suspended legal liability for young people who are brought to our
country illegally by their parents. He also repealed the legal
requirement that welfare recipients must work, by simply redefining
"work" to include other things, such as going to classes on weight
control. Then there are waivers from Obamacare for favored allies -
waivers that offend the principle of equality before the law.
Whether the president's actions were good or bad ideas or not is
irrelevant. What's relevant is whether we want to establish a precedent
whereby a president, who has no constitutional authority to repeal parts
of congressional legislation, can grant special favors and rule by
presidential decree like Third World tyrants.
I don't hold President Obama completely responsible for his
unconstitutional actions. It's the American people who are to blame, for
it is we who have lost our morality and our love, knowledge and respect
for our Constitution, laying the foundation for Washington tyranny. The paternal state not only feeds its children, but nurtures, educates, comforts, and disciplines them, providing all they need for
their security. This appears to be a mildly insulting way to treat
adults, but it is really a great crime because it transforms the state
from being a gift of God, given to protect us against violence, into an
idol. It supplies us with all blessings, and we look to it for all our
needs. Once we sink to that level, as Lewis says, there is no
point in telling state officials to mind their own business. "Our whole
lives are their business."
The paternalism of the state is that of the bad parent who wants his children dependent on him forever .
That is an evil impulse. The good parent prepares his children for
independence, trains them to make responsible decisions, knows that he
harms them by not helping them to break loose. The paternal state
thrives on dependency. When the dependents free themselves, it loses
power. It is, therefore, parasitic on the very persons whom it turns
into parasites. Thus, the state and its dependents march symbiotically
to destruction.Throughout history, God has always chosen to work through weak, frail, inadequate human beings who are willing to give Him whatever they
have, and allow Him to use that for His glory and purposes. But for too
long now, the Church in America has sat back and made excuses for our
laziness and apathy by saying, "God's in control." And while I fully believe that God IS in
control, I realize that He has chosen to limit Himself to a great
extent by what He can do through His people. We can no longer afford to
bury our heads in the sand, hoping for things to get better. It's time
for God's people to rise up. We need revival. And revival never comes to an apathetic
people. In fact, revival most often comes to a people suffering from
persecution. It is during persecution that God's people take their eyes
off of their own frivolous desires and petty differences, and return to
simple faith in God based upon hearing and obeying His Word. And let me
assure you, persecution is coming. The virtual prison of political correctness, tolerance, and
celebrating diversity, will soon move into a radical agenda that
attempts to silence the voices of those who speak out against sin and
the evil that dwells in the hearts of men. Those who refuse to be
silenced will be branded as religious extremists and relegated to the
fringes of society. Two of our most sacred rights as Americans - Freedom
of Religion, and Freedom of Speech - will be chipped away at until we
will no longer recognize the country that we were born in.
But in that persecution is the hope that awaits America. As the
persecution grows, the Church will be forced to return to God's
principles of love, obedience, justice, holiness, compassion, truth, and
faithfulness. The Church in America will once again become the salt and
light that Jesus told us we are supposed to be. And when all is said
and done, I believe that revival will come to America. And that revival
can spread to the world.

http://www.bakersfieldcalifornian.com/local/x1891154189/Authorities-return-cell-phones-to-beating-witnesses-attorney-mum-on-contents

Authorities return cellphones to beating witnesses; video could be released Friday

Two cellphones confiscated last week from witnesses to the in-custody death of David Sal Silva were returned Wednesday to the attorney representing the witnesses.

The video on one of the phones could be released as early as Friday, he said.
"I have both cellphones," Bakersfield attorney John Tello said. "Of course, we have to submit them for forensic examination."

Silva was pronounced dead at 12:44 a.m. May 8, less than one hour after witnesses said he was descended upon by several Sheriff's Office deputies, including some who struck Silva multiple times with batons.

Two California Highway Patrol officers also were at the scene.

The cellphones owned by two witnesses were confiscated by Sheriff's Office investigators later that morning.

Standing in his downtown Bakersfield office Wednesday, Tello said it's important that a technical examination of the phones be undertaken so that he can determine, if possible, whether any video was deleted from the phones after it was recorded in the early morning hours of May 8.

Tello said he watched the available video Wednesday morning, and he confirmed what Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood revealed Tuesday: that one of the witnesses' cell phones contains no video. He said he couldn't comment further about what was caught on video, but he said there's a possibility the video could be released to the public this week.

"Friday is probably a fair estimate," Tello said. "It's the property of my clients, so it's up to them when it will be released."

His clients shot the video with the intention of sharing it with news outlets, Tello said. And he has no reason to believe their intent has changed.

Tello said the phone owned by his client Maria Melendez, who was standing closest to the scene of last week's incident near Kern Medical Center, was the one found to contain no video footage. The phone owned by another client, Francisco Arrieta, contains three video clips of the incident totaling approximately 11 minutes.

The phones were dropped off Wednesday by a sergeant with the Sheriff's Office, Tello said.

In a press conference held late Tuesday afternoon, Youngblood told reporters that one of the phones contained no video, despite assurances by witnesses that video was indeed captured on both phones. As there was an expectation that both phones contained video footage, Youngblood decided to ask the FBI to conduct its own examination of the phones.

Shane Swanson, chief operations officer for ARRC Technology in Bakersfield, said ARRC has performed a variety of data recovery scenarios, and each one can be different.

But in general, he said, when data is deleted from a computer hard drive or the memory chip in a cellphone, the chance of recovery is better if new data hasn't been rewritten over the deleted data.

No matter what the FBI ultimately uncovers, Tello said his clients are adamant.
"My clients are very, very clear about what they saw," he said, "and about how many videos they took."

A woman who was recently convicted of stealing a banana showed her displeasure with a Broward judge's bond decision by grabbing a roll of toilet paper and throwing it at the camera.

Gerhonda Snell, 24, appeared remotely before Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley on Tuesday. She is being held on $5,000 bond on a second-degree petit theft charge, according to online jail records, and told Hurley that she hasn't bonded out because she doesn't have any money.

She and Hurley argued about her criminal history, which the judge said includes six convictions for stealing.

When Hurley concluded that her bond would remain where it is, Snell reacted by pushing something off the stand in front of her. She briefly walked away, then returned, grabbed a roll of toilet paper from beneath the stand, and threw it at the camera.

Two friends battered a sheep to
death with a hammer and cut off its legs in a field so they could have a
free roast dinner, a court heard.Matthew Davidson, 28, and Kevin Sherratt, 33, stole the mutilated remains and paraded the animal's head around.

But
their drunken prank on a farm in Macclesfield, Cheshire, backfired when
they sent photos of what they had done to a friend who alerted police.

Mutilation: Matthew Davidson, 28, can be seen
attacking the lamb which had two of its legs removed and its head torn
off in Macclesfield, Cheshire
The pair sent the friend five pictures of themselves slaughtering and mutilating the sheep with a blade.

In a reference to their Sunday lunch, Sherratt said in a sick jokey text message: 'Lamb sorted. Only Yorkshires needed now'.

He also said the whole incident was 'well funny' and they had been thinking about what they were going to eat the next day.

  The
toothless loan shark: Market trader who ran illegal debt racket from
his fruit and veg stall is spared jail because interest rates were 100
times LOWER than payday lenders Husband jailed for LOOTING his own wedding venue... and his heavily pregnant bride is standing by him

Davidson and Sherratt, both
unemployed and from Macclesfield, admitted criminal damage and theft of
the sheep before magistrates in the town.Simon
Pover, prosecuting, said: 'On April 26, the farmer discovered one of
the hoggits (year-old lambs) had been killed and its body mutilated. Its
remains were found on a footpath. Both hind legs and the head had been
removed.

Sick prank: Davidson, 28, shows off the head which was torn off the dead sheep

Boasts: Kevin Sherratt, 33, jokes to his friend
'that's Sunday dinner lamb sorted' after sending a friend a picture of
what they had done
'On April 25 at 8pm, a friend known to
both defendants received a text message from Davidson asking "you up
for killing a cow, pal?".'At
11pm that same night he received a text message from Sherratt saying
"seriously mate how much fun we had, oh my days". He then received five
pictures of the men slaughtering and mutilating the sheep with a knife
or blade.'In another
picture Davidson was stood in Sherratt's home holding up the lamb's
head. Another text said: "Lamb sorted. Only Yorkshires needed now".'Mr Pover said other messages bragged about the brutal killing.

One
text from Davidson said: 'I hope we didn't scare you with all this. We
were a bit (drunk) and thought about Sunday dinner. It was funny when
the hammer went through that skull. Think I might have found my new
career as a butcher not a builder'.'Another
from Sherratt said: 'It was well funny. I held it down and said do not
hit my hand with that hammer. What does he do, but on the killer blow
hit my hand with the hammer. It hurt my knuckle. He is a lunatic.'The police found bags containing the animal's body parts and bloodied tools in a shed at Sherratt's home.

Mr
Pover told the court: 'Sherratt told police they were drunk at home and
decided they wanted a roast dinner. He said he had hunted smaller
animals.

Sick pranksters: Davidson, 28, (left) and
Sherratt, 33, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and theft of the sheep
when they appeared before magistrates
'They decided to kill a sheep
and got a claw hammer and serrated knife. They went to a field during
the night, caught a sheep by running alongside it, pushing it and
pinning it to the floor.'He said the first blow killed it but they took an extra two or three strokes to make sure. They both skinned the animal.

'Davidson
told police he had spent three days at Sherratt's house and been drunk
throughout. He couldn't remember much but recalled being in a field with
a sheep.'Trevor Feehily, defending, said the incident had been triggered by alcohol.

He said: 'It doesn't excuse what either of them have done. Both said it was drunken and complete stupidity.'

Police wanted to charge Davidson and Sherratt with animal cruelty, but they could not prove the sheep had suffered.

They will be sentenced on June 7.

And a poll too!

Cheers!

Two men and a woman packed pizza and beer aboard a luxury sailboat in
a Sausalito marina, stole it in the middle of the night and made it as
far as Pacifica before the vessel ran aground 20 yards off a beach
Monday, authorities said.
The three then spent hours being tossed about in the waves in the
82-foot Darling as authorities, alerted to the theft by a man who
recognized his boat on the TV news, waited with guns drawn on Linda
Mar Beach.
The three suspects - Leslie Gardner , 63, Dario Mira , 54, and Lisa Modawell ,
56 - were pulled off the boat onto personal watercraft by San Mateo
County sheriff's deputies about noon and handed over to Pacifica police,
who booked them on suspicion of grand theft and conspiracy.
When authorities boarded the Darling, they found cases of pale ale and a pizza box, said Jeff Wadkins ,
a state parks lifeguard and park ranger who was one of those to scour
the vessel. "There looks like there was quite a bit of alcohol drinking
onboard," he said.
The contents of the boat were in disarray, apparently because of the
rough surf, Wadkins said, and the three suspects showed signs
of seasickness.
One of the men limped as authorities led him away, apparently because he uses a prosthetic leg, Wadkins said.

The 2004 boat has three cabins, each with its own bathroom, and a
satellite TV with Dolby surround sound, according to an online
description of the boat. The vessel is also stocked with an inflatable
outboard boat that comes with water skis. Comparable sailboats sell for
$2.8 million.

Once the suspects were taken ashore, the focus turned to trying to free the luxury boat before it broke apart, said Eric Laughlin , spokesman for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife .

"Right now, the boat seems to be staying together, which is good news," Laughlin said.

Tim Parker of Parker Diving Services
said the boat's 10-foot keel was dug several feet into the sand.
Salvage crews may wait until a 6-foot-high tide at 5 a.m. Tuesday to
dislodge the boat.
"As nice as the boat is - and it's real nice - it was not designed to be pulled," Parker said. "It's not a tugboat."

Rescue crews arrived at the beach around dawn, shortly after the
first hints of daylight revealed the Darling, stuck in the shallows.
Although the three people onboard initially said they didn't need any
help, a Coast Guard swimmer was lowered from a helicopter and delivered a radio to the vessel, said Petty Officer Tom McKenzie , a Coast Guard spokesman.
The vessel's owner was watching news coverage of the incident, took a
hard look at the boat bobbing in the waves and realized it was his,
said Sausalito police Sgt. Bill Fraass .
"He had the TV on when he realized that his boat had been taken and called us," Fraass said.

Once they learned they were dealing with more than just an unlucky
set of sailors, Pacifica police officers joined the Coast Guard and
local Fire Department
on the beach. Officers stood onshore with their guns drawn a little
before 11 a.m. and used a megaphone to order those onboard to give
themselves up.
The owner, John Fruth , was in a parking lot on the Pacifica beach when the suspects were taken off his boat. He declined to comment.

The boat, built by English builders Oyster Marine ,
has sailed around the world, according to an online description. Police
believe the boat was stolen from the Sausalito Yacht Harbor around 1
a.m. Monday.
"They chose to steal the nicest sailboat, likely, in the entire marina," said Travis Lund , a base manager with Sunsail ,
a yacht charter company that has eight boats docked in the harbor.

It would have taken some skill to navigate the boat out of the cramped marina, Lund said.

"That's like saying you can drive your car, but now you're going to
hop into a tractor trailer, back it out of its space and drive it
cross-country," Lund said. "It would take more expertise to get it out.
How they ran it aground in Pacifica, I don't know."

Under Threats from Jewish Groups, TalkStreamLive Drops Inside the Eye - Live! from Saturday Line-up

Posted in ITEL Updates

								Under
threats from Jewish media censors monitoring TalkStreamLive,
TalkStreamLive has removed without any notification the popular
political talk show, Inside the Eye - Live! with The Fetch, from
TalkStreamLive's Saturday aggregation line-up. Sources note that Jewish
groups have been active in monitoring online media sites in an effort
to put a total blanket on the information flowing out to the American
people and larger global community and that Inside the Eye - Live! was
specifically targeted for deletion from TalkStreamLive's aggregation
Saturday morning line-up.
Unseen and Unaccountable Jewish Censors in the Alternative News Media Market

Indeed, there has been a disturbing trend in the alternative
streaming news segment. When seen in the light of defacto operating
unaccountable Jewish censors, Americans and the world at large are
seeing their choices of media programming increasing censored, including
completely disappeared from the World Wide Web, in an effort by Jews to
preclude any mention of Jewish involvement in the theft of trillions of
dollars from the United States economy, Jewish involvement in the
poisoning of the food supply, Jewish involvement in the phony "War on
Terror", Jewish involvement in the attack on the United States known as
"9-11'', and Jewish media manipulations, to name but a few.
All of the above realities, plus the Jewish involvement in the
attempted frame-up of the Syrian government in the use of chemical
weapons in the early part of May, 2013, hint at an agenda by global
Jewish interests to bring the citizenry of Western civilization powers
into another war in the Middle East for the benefit of Jewish
geopolitical interests.
And it is precisely this effort to keep reality "under the blanket"
and out of sight and earshot that has de-facto Jewish censors working
tireless to bully and threaten website owners and aggregators.
Traditional American and Western values of free speech are being ground
down in favor of an Orwellian Jewish Bolshevik construction.
As Alexsandr Solzhenitsyn so aptly revealed,

"We can not state, that all Jews are Bolsheviks. But: Without
Jews there would never have been Bolshevism. For a Jew nothing is more
insulting than the truth. The blood-maddened Jewish terrorists had
murdered sixty-six million victims in Russia from 1918 to 1957!"
The idea of "imposed constructions on language" are not so difficult
to comprehend: the manner in which constructions are imposed is through a
focused effort to control definitions and word usage. In this area,
owing largely to Jewish control of media cultural (film) assets and
intelligentsia (higher education), the task of controlling definitions
and accepted "word usage" has proven to be markedly easy and effective.
When we factor in the absolute disdain Jews have towards non Jews as
regards "free speech", and in light of active and overt effort by Jews
to impose partial to absolute censorship, we must factor in that success
in destroying the free flow of ideas is magnified through what appears
to be in many places a Jewish control of the legal system.
Threats of legal action are enough to bring down even the most
staunch supporter of Western values regarding free speech, and Jews use
this threat to an almost exclusive degree. However, the idea of Jews
"suing people" to impose public censorship is such an intellectual
affront that a healthy court system would laugh Jews who tried such a
legal assault straight out of court, with a kick in the behind in the
form of massive fines as penalties for the wasting of peoples, and the
courts, time.
But such is not the case: corruption and rot of Western values seems
nearly complete. Nowhere is this more evident than when a PRIVATE
UNKNOWN JEWISH ENTITY can IMPOSE LITERAL CENSORSHIP through targeting
large cume alternative media outlets. It is as if cowards, hiding in
the shadows, unable to effect their agenda, use lies and the threat of
legal force to impose their agenda.
It is a form soft but very real form of TOTALITARIANISM practiced by Jews.

No self respecting Western civilized person would dare to accept the
verbal and intellectual assault of some PRIVATE person, Jewish or
otherwise, telling the collective what we can and can't say, what we can
and can't hear, and whom we can and can't freely associate, for it is
through our words that we communicate: we speak, we listen, and we
associate based on the actions and ideals that travel and coalesce
within communication structures.
ALLOWING PRIVATE JEWISH INDIVIDUALS OR ENTITIES to IMPOSE CENSORSHIP
is a DIRECT ASSAULT on not just "free speech", but the very Western
right to freely associate. Take away the communication, and the right
to associate rapidly follows.
A Case Study - Orion Talk Radio "Cleans up their act."

In this light we can further understand the disturbing trends towards
self censorship of those afraid of Jewish tyranny, those who support
Jewish tyranny, the very real imposed censorship by Jewish individuals
and entities on our collective rights as they seek to bring about
tyranny.
A case in point is the rather sudden declaration by Orion Talk Radio,
a moderate sized streaming political talk radio station, who was forced
to "clean up their act" and publicly embarrassed themselves with a
treatise that could only be seen as written by Jewish censors seeking to
justify their right to censor our collective ability to speak, hear -
and thus associate.
Said the statement from Orion Talk Radio,

" As part of the US Constitutional Bill of Rights, the 1st amendment guarantees (and we quote here)...

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the
freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably
to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of
grievances.
Orion Talk Radio's ghost scribbler pontificated with a plethora of
charged Jewish insanities. Consider this bit of opined Talmudic
intelligence:
"All too often, those who wish to engage in such reckless talk
will always attempt to hide their offensive speech behind the
Constitutional right to free speech."
Here we see a loaded sentence filled with Jewish language
constructions. First and foremost, "who" gets to determine what is and
is not a "reckless" use of the language? Are we to presume that only
Jews know how to use the language and that intelligent mature adults
across the political spectrum who are raising awareness of Jewish
mismanagement in all phases of their political, economic, and social
activities are somehow not quite clear and intent on what they are
saying?
Further. Who is defining "reckless"? How is it being used? Is it
being used in a manner that is purely understood from a Jewish group
think strategy, an academic framed absurdity, or...?

"Reckless", in this case, is cleary an open ended language
construction that has been charged to Jewish social and literary
constructions. It means absolutely nothing to a non -Jew unless a non -
Jew wishes to make it mean something. In reality, such open ended
language constructions are forms of intellectual violence intended to
insult and assault the intelligent and unsuspecting alike. To the
intelligent, we see the absurdity and intended insult and assault on our
intelligence. To the unsuspecting, the real target of Jewish language
constructions, the attempt is to create a political mass willing to bend
to Jewish political agendas and through "democracy", enforce graduated
levels of Jewish constructed tyranny.
Further, as regards the phrase, "trying to hide behind freedom of
speech": how can anyone INTELLIGENTLY claim that someone is "trying to
hide behind free speech"? The truth of the matter here is that this
ghost scribbler for Orion Talk Radio was projecting onto their target.
It is the "ghost scribbler" here who was and remains seeking to "hide
behind free speech", for the real intent of the ghost scribbler is to
deny others their right to speak freely.
In truth, "Free speech" is simply the palette upon which all
communication is caste. It is a utility used for communication.
Thus, to those of us who are prodigy of the progenitors of Western
Civilization and the ideal of freedom of speech and the resultant
freedom of association and assembly, the idea that somehow we need to
"hide" behind "freedom of speech" is an intellectual absurdity.
Freedom of speech is the palette upon which we create the free flow
of ideas, and so long as that palette is open to all, then what is right
and good will always prevail for the arguments and logic of Reason will
always resonate more strongly in the hearts and minds of humanity that
the arguments and logic of the Tyrant.
Thus we have nothing to fear and certainly no need to "hide behind
freedom of speech". So long as we enable and allow ABSOLUTE FREEDOM OF
SPEECH relative to the free flow of ideals, we have nothing to fear.
Falsities will sink and drown while the truth will rise and float as an
iceberg upon the seas.
The use of crafted impositions on the language with the intent to
destroy "freedom of speech" is being done precisely to deny enough ice
from forming such that the collective truths raise themselves above the
Seas.

Seven top cyber
safety measures for business

One in five Australian
businesses suffered an electronic breach or cyber attack in 2012. Most report
an average of two attacks a year. Companies put their own ability to
effectively secure their organisation at 4.5 out of 10. Australia is now 21st
in the most attacked nations list, up from 24th.

Statistics on the lack
of business cyber security and increase in cyber attacks abound. It's no wonder
experts continue to warn that poor security practices can compromise company
finances and put commercial and customer information in the wrong hands.

According to Australia's Computer Emergency
Response Team (CERT) 2012 Cyber Crime and Security Survey
Report in February, 20 per cent of Australian businesses were the subject of
hacking or other cyber-attacks last year.

The most serious
involved the use of malicious software including ransomware and scareware,
which extort payments for the return of data; trojan or rootkit malware, which
lodge in the company's systems to steal information; theft or breach of
confidential information; and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.

In Operation Lino,
Australia's biggest investigation into compromised credit cards, it was found
that a Romanian criminal syndicate gained access to 500,000 Australian credit
cards, and about 30,000 credit cards were used for fraudulent transactions
amounting to more than $30 million.

"Businesses were
compromised, where full control of their computers gave full access to
point-of-sale terminals, which gave access to details of all credit
cards," says Brad Marden, Australian Federal Police acting manager for
cyber crime operations.

According to the
Symantec Internet Security Threat Report released Tuesday, AUstralia
experienced an increase inthe level of cybercrime in 2012 and is now ranked
21st in the most targeted nations by cyber criminals.

Peter Sparkes,
Symantec's director for managed security services, said Australia's enthusiasm
for technology was partly the reason.

"As a nation of early
adopters with a strong economy which uses technology to remain competitive,
Australia is turning out to be an attractive target for cybercriminals,"
Sparkes said in a statement.

A study of 485
Australian technology and security professionals by the Ponemon Institute for
Juniper Networks released this week as part of a global survey, found
respondents rated their own organisation's security effectiveness as 4.5 out of
10. They rated their organisation's ability to quickly detect and prevent cyber
attacks also as poor at 4.4 and 4.6, respectively.

The report said the
issues that keep most IT and IT security practitioners up at night are
"the theft of their organisation's intellectual property, including
research and development, business strategies and industrial processes";
and the theft of "confidential information used to obtain authentication
credentials to infiltrate networks and enterprise systems".

But Marden says 85 per
cent of cyber intrusions can be prevented, and recommends adopting some of the
Australian government's Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) strategies. Security
vendors also offer similar advice.

Nassau County police said the Hofstra University student killed
during a home invasion robbery was the victim of friendly fire from an
officer.
According to the New York Post, the officer who fired the accidental
fatal shot is highly decorated and exchanged gunfire with suspect,
30-year-old Dalton Smith.
21-year-old Andrea Rebello of Tarrytown, was shot in the head and died.

During a Saturday night press conference, Nassau County Det. Lt. John
Azzata said the officer fired eight rounds. Seven rounds struck the
subject -- one struck the victim.
Earlier, Nassau County police identified Smith, a career criminal who
was identified by his fingerprints. Smith's criminal record dates back
14 years.
Police had issued a warrant for Smith's arrest in April after
he violated parole. His criminal record includes armed robbery and
automobile theft convictions, records show.
Police said Smith, wearing a black ski mask, knocked on the door and
then forced his way into the home on California Avenue after 2:00 a.m.
Once inside, he demanded money from the four residents -- one man and
three women. Police said Smith had one of the woman go to an ATM to get
more money. The victim called 911 once she was outside.
Police arrived to the scene minutes later and got into a shootout
with Smith. Officials say Smith used the victim as a human shield.
"The male black, who is the subject in this case - Mr. Smith, has our
victim, Andrea, still in a headlock when he realizes there's a police
officer behind the wall in the hallway," said Azzata.
"He now moves her even closer to the front of his body. He's backing
out towards the back door and he's still got the gun to her head -
eventually menaces our police officer, points his gun at the officer and
at that point - fires several rounds."
Rebello's twin sister, Jessica, was among the women inside the home
at the time of the shooting -- she was not harmed, officials said.
Fox 5 News reported that several sorority sisters lived in the home.

Rebello's funeral will be held this week in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. Her
high school yearbook quote read..l""ove the life you live, live the life
you love.

'I cry myself to sleep': Tia Sharp murderer's self-pitying letters from jail reveal his upset at 'nasty stuff' said by other prisoners

Child killer Stuart Hazell wrote a series of self-pitying letters from prison, complaining that he was bullied by other inmates and cried himself to sleep as he awaited trial.

In the letters, written to a pen pal before he pleaded guilty to the murder of 12-year-old Tia Sharp, he complains that he cannot get counselling at Belmarsh maximum security jail in South East London.

The 37-year-old, who was jailed for 38 years without parole last week, also proclaims his innocence in the mistake-littered letters and claimed to be a man with a gentle nature who would never hurt a woman.

He wrote: 'I feel like I'm stuck in a bubble, it sounds soft but I even cry myself to sleep.

'Like I said when my cell door closed then I sit and cry, I won't deny it, it truly hurts when people say nasty stuff about me, but if they knew me as me a bloke who would do anything for anyone it would paint a different picture.'

His letters, published in the Sunday Mirror , also moan that the prison authorities could not offer him any psychiatric support as he was a remand prisoner, while counselling is only for sentenced prisoners - a situation he brands a 'joke'.

Tia's body was found in the attic of the home in New Addington, South London that Hazell shared with Tia's biological grandmother Christine Bicknell, a week after the girl went missing in August last year.

Hazell suffocated the 12-year-old during a sex attack after months of trawling vile internet pornography sites and filming her as she slept.

Children's charities demanded tighter internet controls and detectives said his obsession with online child porn 'shaped his behaviour'

Hazell had insisted for nine months that Tia's death was a 'tragic accident'.

The father of one claimed she slipped and broke her neck while he was babysitting her at the home he shared with Miss Bicknell.

But in the letters he claims he would never have hurt a child or hit a woman, claiming he himself had suffered physical abuse as a child.

He added: 'I am a loveing, careing, generous bloke who would do anything for anyone and I would go out of my way to help friends and family anyway I could.'

He also compares himself to Robert Stroud - the famous 'Birdman of Alcatraz' - after he befriended a pigeon outside his cell window.

Stroud, a convicted killer, kept hundreds of canaries in his sell and even wrote books about them. He was portrayed by Burt Lancaster in a 1962 film.

Hazell wrote: 'Strange how something so small can take my mind of the cayos (chaos) and madness and this last ten months have been full of cayos and madness believe me.'

The letters also mention his love of football club Tottenham Hotspur, Wasps rugby club and TV shows Scrubs, Hollyoaks and How I Met Your Mother.

Hazell's criminal past included convictions for racially aggravated common assault in 2002, dealing cocaine in 2003 and possession of a machete in a public place in 2010, for which he was jailed for 12 months.

He also has convictions for burglary and theft.

Steve Carter, Tia's father, last week called for his daughter's killer to be hung. He said: 'The four days of trial here were very hard to deal with, hearing the vile things Hazell did to Tia.

'He should serve his time and then be hung.

'I do not see today's events as justice for Tia, merely a legal conviction.'

Hazell also wrote to his father Keith from Belmarsh in August last year, saying he had made 'one mistake and my whole world has collapsed'.

He told his father that he wishes he could 'turn back the clock' and that he was unable to eat or sleep in prison.

The letter had two pictures of sad faces drawn on it and had two words written at the top: 'Forgive me'.

Among defense contractors, QinetiQ North America (QQ/) is known for spy-world connections and an eye- popping product line. Its contributions to national security include secret satellites, drones, and software used by U.S. special forces in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

Former CIA Director George Tenet was a director of the company from 2006 to 2008 and former Pentagon spy chief Stephen Cambone heads a major division. Its U.K. parent was created as a spinoff of a government weapons laboratory that inspired Q's lab in Ian Fleming's James Bond thrillers, a connection QinetiQ (pronounced kin-EH-tic) still touts.

QinetiQ's espionage expertise didn't keep Chinese cyber- spies from outwitting the company. In a three-year operation, hackers linked to China's military infiltrated QinetiQ's computers and compromised most if not all of the company's research. At one point, they logged into the company's network by taking advantage of a security flaw identified months earlier and never fixed.

"We found traces of the intruders in many of their divisions and across most of their product lines," said Christopher Day, until February a senior vice president for Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ)'s Terremark security division, which was hired twice by QinetiQ to investigate the break-ins. "There was virtually no place we looked where we didn't find them."

'Major Embarrassment'

The lengthy spying operation on QinetiQ jeopardized the company's sensitive technology involving drones, satellites, the U.S. Army's combat helicopter fleet, and military robotics, both already-deployed systems and those still in development, according to internal investigations. Jennifer Pickett, a spokesman for QinetiQ, declined to comment as part of a general policy not to discuss security measures.

"God forbid we get into a conflict with China but if we did we could face a major embarrassment, where we try out all these sophisticated weapons systems and they don't work," said Richard Clarke, former special adviser to President George W. Bush on cyber security.

The spies' trail at QinetiQ begins in late 2007, and so do the company's mistakes. QinetiQ's travails are documented in hundreds of unvarnished e-mails and dozens of reports that were never meant to be public, part of a cache that was leaked in 2011 by the group Anonymous after it hacked HBGary Inc., a Sacramento-based computer security firm hired by QinetiQ the previous year.

Team Outmaneuvered

The e-mails and reports are authentic, according to former HBGary executives and Day. Day agreed to an interview limited to the investigation's findings because the documents had already become public.

By reviewing the documents with security experts and interviewing more than a dozen people familiar with the QinetiQ breaches, Bloomberg News reconstructed how the hackers outmaneuvered QinetiQ's internal security team and at least five companies brought in to help salvage the situation.

Headquartered in a glass-and-steel office tower in McLean, Virginia, QinetiQ's U.S. subsidiary is a boutique arms maker, less than one-tenth the size of industry giants like Lockheed or Northrop Grumman Corp. (NOC) It has specialized in fields expected to grow as the rest of the Pentagon budget shrinks, including drones, robotics, software and high-speed computing. A 2012 want ad for QinetiQ's Albuquerque facility solicited a programmer to work on a "satellite-based global monitoring system" and limited candidates to those with top secret clearances only.

Stolen Data

In December 2007, an agent from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service contacted the company's small security team and notified them that two people working in McLean were losing confidential data from their laptop computers, according to an internal report. The agency had stumbled upon the stolen data as part of another investigation and the alert was a courtesy.

The San Diego-based agent didn't provide the identity of the hackers, who had been tracked by U.S. intelligence since at least 2002, or the crucial -- but classified -- fact that they were hitting other defense contractors. The company wouldn't find out who its attackers were for two more years.

QinetiQ put strict limits on the investigation.

"They just felt like it was this limited little thing, like they'd picked up some virus," said Brian Dykstra, a forensics expert based in Columbia, Maryland, which QinetiQ hired to conduct the investigation.

Security Holes

More investigations uncovered more security holes. In 2008, a security team found that QinetiQ's internal corporate network could be accessed from a Waltham, Massachusetts, parking lot using an unsecured Wi-Fi connection. The same investigation discovered that Russian hackers had been stealing secrets from QinetiQ for more than 2 1/2 years through a secretary's computer, which they had rigged to send the data directly to a server in the Russian Federation, according to an internal investigation.

QinetiQ's executives in the meantime fretted about rising costs.

"You could spend all your resources chasing such things as this," William Ribich, the former president of QinetiQ's Technology Solutions Group, said in an interview in January. Ribich, who retired in November 2009, shortly after the discovery of a major data theft, said he needed to balance the uncertain risk that the hackers could use what they stole against a growing shopping list of security products and consulting fees.

"You finally have to reach a point where you say 'let's move on,"' he said.

Vast Control

China's hackers in fact zeroed in first on Ribich's division, based in Waltham, and specifically on QinetiQ's drone and robotics technology. Internal reports leaked by Anonymous chronicle a breach at TSG in February 2008, followed by another attempt in March of that year. By 2009, the hackers had almost complete control over TSG's computers, the documents show.

Over one stretch in 2009, the spies spent 251 days raiding at least 151 machines, including laptops and servers, cataloging TSG's source code and engineering data. The hackers dribbled data out of the network in small packets to avoid detection, managing to get away with 20 gigabytes before they were finally stopped, according to an internal damage assessment.

The stolen cache included highly sensitive military technology and was equivalent in size to 1.3 million pages of documents or more than 3.3 million pages of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

Secrets 'Gone'

"All their code and trade secrets are gone," Phil Wallisch, senior security engineer at HBGary, wrote in an e-mail after being briefed on the loss by the company.

It was about to get much worse.

While QinetiQ's team tripped from crisis to crisis, the hackers honed their skills. They were next spotted in March 2010, after signing on with the stolen password of a network administrator based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Darren Back.

The hackers logged on through the company's remote access system, just like any employee. It was a trick they were able to use only because QinetiQ didn't employ two-factor authentication, a simple device that generates a unique code employees enter, along with their usual password, anytime they work from home.

The problem had been spotted months earlier in a security review. Mandiant, which worked on several TSG breaches and performed the test, recommended a relatively inexpensive fix. The advice was ignored, according to a person familiar with the report.

Digital Secrets

In four days of furious activity, the hackers rifled at least 14 servers, taking particular interest in the company's Pittsburgh location, which specialized in advanced robotics design. The Comment Group also used Back's password to raid the computer of QinetiQ's Huntsville, Alabama-based technology control officer, which contained an inventory of highly sensitive weapons-systems technology and source code throughout the company. The spies had got their hands on a map to all of QinetiQ's digital secrets.

They also had begun to broaden their attack. As evidence mounted that the hackers had moved to divisions beyond TSG, QinetiQ hired two outside firms in April 2010 -- Terremark (TMRK) and a relatively new start up called HBGary, headed by Greg Hoglund, a former hacker turned security expert.

HBGary installed specialized software on more than 1,900 computers, then scanned the machines for snippets of malicious code. Glitches surfaced almost immediately. The software wouldn't load on at least a third of the computers, and even where it did, it missed some that the hackers' spyware was known to have infected, according to internal HBGary e-mails.

Every Corner

The security teams found evidence that the hackers had burrowed into almost every corner of QinetiQ's U.S. operations, including production facilities and engineering labs in St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Long Beach, Mississippi, Huntsville, Alabama and Albuquerque, New Mexico, where QinetiQ engineers work on satellite-based espionage, among other projects.

By the middle of June 2010, after weeks of intense work, the investigators believed they had cleaned QinetiQ's networks and began wrapping up.

The calm lasted a little more than two months. In early September, the FBI called QinetiQ with evidence that the defense contractor was again losing data, according to e-mails and a person involved in the probe. Anglin messaged both HBGary and Terremark, asking how quickly their teams could return.

Within hours of their arrival, the investigators again began finding malicious software, or malware, in computers throughout the company's North American divisions. Some of it had been there since 2009.

Software Deleted

It began to dawn on the security teams that the hackers had established a near permanent presence in the defense contractor's computers, mining new information almost as soon as it was written onto hard drives. "Oh yeah...they are f'd," Wallisch wrote to Hoglund in September.

Investigators also had to contend with frustrated QinetiQ employees. Upset about how much computer power the HBGary detection software was consuming, workers began deleting it from their computers with the approval of the company's information technology staff.

As the hunt continued, more clues surfaced about what secrets the spies were after. The hunters' digital footprints were found on the computers of QinetiQ's chief operating officer, a division vice president and dozens of engineers and software architects, including several with classified clearances.

Military Robots

Among the victims was a specialist in the embedded software on microchips that control the company's military robots, which would help in China's own robot-building program, said Noel Sharkey, a drones and robotics expert at Britain's Sheffield University. The PLA unveiled a bomb disposal robot in April 2012 similar to QinetiQ's Dragon Runner.

The chip architecture could also help China test ways to take over or defeat U.S. robots or aerial drones, Sharkey said.

"You could set them up in a simulation board and hack into them," he said. "That's standard stuff."

The spies also took an interest in engineers working on an innovative maintenance program for the Army's combat helicopter fleet. They targeted at least 17 people working on what's known as Condition Based Maintenance, which uses on-board sensors to collect data on Apache and Blackhawk helicopters deployed around the world, according to experts familiar with the program.

The CBM databases contain highly sensitive information including the aircrafts' individual PIN numbers, and could have provided the hackers with a view of the deployment, performance, flight hours, durability and other critical information of every U.S. combat helicopter from Alaska to Afghanistan, according to Abdel Bayoumi, who heads the Condition Based Maintenance Center at the University of South Carolina.

Redstone Arsenal

The hackers also may have used QinetiQ to break into the Army's Redstone Arsenal through a network shared with QinetiQ's engineers in nearby Huntsville. A breach of the base, home of the Army's Aviation and Missile Command, was linked by military investigators back to QinetiQ, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

It wasn't the only time the hackers used the same back-door approach to federal computers. The same person said that as recently as last year, federal agents were looking into a breach at a QinetiQ cyber-security unit, which they suspected Chinese hackers were using in attacks against government targets.

The security lapses at QinetiQ led to investigations by several federal agencies, including the FBI, Pentagon, and Naval Criminal Investigative Service, according to two people involved, who didn't know the final outcome of the probes. The State Department, which has the power to revoke QinetiQ's charter to handle restricted military technology if it finds negligence, has yet to take any action against the company.

'Learning Curve'

"In this case it looks like years go by without seeing any learning curve and that's what's scary," said Steven Aftergood, who directs the Project on Government Secrecy at the Federation of American Scientists. "The company is responsible for its own failures, but the government is responsible for the inadequacy of its response."

QinetiQ's U.S. operations are overseen by a proxy board that includes Riley Mixson, the Navy's former air-warfare chief. The board was briefed several times about the hacking and the investigations. Mixson said that "everything was duly reported" and then hung up the phone. Tenet declined to comment.

The investigations didn't affect the company's ability to win government contracts, even to provide cyber-security services to federal agencies.

Contract Awarded

In May 2012, QinetiQ received a $4.7 million cyber-security contract from the U.S. Transportation Department, which includes protection of the country's critical transport infrastructure.

"When it comes to cyber security QinetiQ couldn't grab their ass with both hands, so it cracks me up that they won," Bob Slapnik, vice president at HBGary, wrote after QinetiQ received a grant from the Pentagon in 2010 to advise it on ways to counter cyber espionage.

In the fall of 2010, Terremark sent a report to Anglin concluding that QinetiQ had been targeted by the Comment Crew since 2007 and that the hackers had been operating continuously in their networks since at least 2009. The report was part of the trove of documents leaked by Anonymous.

In that time, the hackers had gained almost complete control over the company's network. They had operated unhindered for months-long stretches and they had implanted multiple, hidden communications channels to extract data. Privately, the investigators concluded that the spies had gotten everything they wanted from QinetiQ's computers.

"My feeling is that if an attacker has been in your environment for years, your data is gone," Wallisch wrote in an e-mail to a colleague in December 2010, a few weeks before HBGary itself was hacked and the record stops.

"Everything about your business is known, cataloged, analyzed, by your enemy," Wallisch wrote. "I don't feel a sense of urgency anymore."
