Guy Swindell Fowlkes, 33, of Orlando, was working at the tent at Colonial Drive and Maguire Road but had made arrangements to work at another tent location, according to an arrest affidavit filed in the case. When his girlfriend asked about keys to a storage unit, Fowlkes said he did not have the keys and began an argument with her. Fowlkes struck his girlfriend, who is pregnant, in the left side of her face, according to the report. He then went into the tent and began to light up fireworks, directing some of them at other employees. He also lit the fuse of two firecrackers and placed them inside the gas tank of an employee. When police arrived at the scene about 9:23 p.m., shortly after the first reports about the incident, the exploding fireworks were visible from a distance. Fowlkes, who seemed to be having a seizure when officers approached him, said he did not know what was happening and did not remember anything, according to the arrest report. He was transported to Health Central Hospital, where he was treated and said he began to remember some of what happened. A public records search indicates that Fowlkes has a lengthy criminal history that has included past charges such as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana, battery, resisting an officer, robbery, burglary, trespassing, possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver, domestic violence battery and contempt of court. Charges against him in this incident include arson, aggravated domestic battery and battery on a pregnant female. His name is also similar to Guy Fawkes, the point man in the failed conspiracy known as the Gunpowder Plot in England. He and 36 barrels of gunpowder were found hidden in a storeroom in the Palace of Westminster, where Parliament was to meet that day - Nov. 5, 1605. Chrystal Hinchliffe, 27, who ran Zero Gravity Gymnastics in South Daytona, turned herself in at the Lee County jail and was released about two hours later after posting $20,000 bond on a charge of organized scheme to defraud. Hinchliffe is accused of taking thousands of dollars for May tuition in mid-April, just days before closing the school for good. She also contacted the owner of another gym offering to sell her gymnastics equipment for $15,000, according to the police report. That owner declined to purchase the equipment after learning that Hinchliffe still owed $9,000 on the materials. On April 17, two days after she collected the tuition, a parent drove by the school and noticed Hinchliffe taking items from the school and placing them into a moving van. Several parents then complained to police. The state attorney's office issued a warrant for her arrest on Friday. Hinchliffe, who now lives in southwest Florida, turned herself in at the Lee County jail at 1:02 a.m. Tuesday. Minutes after her release, she uploaded the self-taken photo on a Facebook page called "Survivors of Zero Gravity Gymnastics where parents of her former students bemoan their involvement with her, accuse her of fraud and say they hope for an apology. Larry Dorava, 53, is accused of removing a ceiling tile in the men's room at a Hess Gas Station, climbing over the women's restroom and cutting a hole in the tile over the women's restroom in order to see into the room Sunday. A woman told police that she thought someone was watching her as she used the restroom at the Hess Gas Station in the 1100 block of Granada Boulevard. As she exited the restroom about 8:30 p.m., a man who was leaving the men's room at the same time told her, "I'm sorry, I did not do anything." The woman then told her husband, who was at the gas pump, what had happened. The husband confronted the man, who ran between some nearby buildings and disappeared. Police also thought a white pickup with the keys in the ignition that was parked in the station's parking lot might belong to the man. The truck's owner was determined to be Dorava. The woman identified Dorava from a photo lineup as the man who had watched her. A detective watching from an unmarked car saw Dorava try to enter his vehicle about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Several units then arrived and Dorava was arrested. He was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail on a $1,500 bond. On Tuesday, records showed he had been released from the jail.
