Some Brits and Canadians make a bouncing bomb filled with cement and try to hit a small dam they constructed on a lake.
Not shown on video is where they used a large drill to spin the bomb in the cradle to something like 1500 rpms before the plane takes off.

amazingly escapes with no broken bones after plunge and vows to jump again

DAREDEVIL Matthew Gough hurtles 1,000ft towards the ground with a look of terror - as his parachute fails after leaping off a cliff.

Despite bouncing off the cliff then crashing to earth, he escaped with minor injuries to his knees and ankles

But he plans to jump again soon. He said: "My parents are desperate for me to stop, but I fully accept the dangers."

Dambusters Derwent flypast on 70th anniversary of raid

A Lancaster bomber has
performed a flypast over Derwent reservoir, 70 years on from the
historic World War II raid on German dams.
Hundreds of onlookers gathered near the dam - one of the practice sites pilots used ahead of their top-secret mission.

More than a third of the men never returned from the raids, which required them to fly 60ft above ground.

The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and 617 Squadron flew over the dam in Derbyshire's Hope Valley.

Only three of the 133-strong squadron are still alive. Ninety-four-year-old Les Munro, is the only surviving pilot.

More than 1,300 people were killed when the bombs hit German dams and flooded the Ruhr valley.

Of the original aircrew, three were captured and 53 were killed

'Sacrifice'
The flypast was one of a number of events taking place around England on Thursday to mark the raids of 16-17 May 1943.

The Royal British Legion will create a Field of Messages at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Over 10,500 cardboard crests with supporters' messages will be on display at the memorial throughout the day.

And at RAF Scampton near Lincoln, where 70 years ago the bomber pilots took off on their mission, there will be a sunset ceremonyand another memorial flypast, to be broadcast on BBC2 at 19:00 BST. TheRAF is live tweeting the original wireless telegraphy signals from the raid on Thursday, through its Twitter account .
An exhibition and talk is also being held in Barry Island, Vale of Glamorgan, the hometown of a crew member Gordon Yeo, who died in 1943, and on Friday events are taking place at the Eder Dam in Germany.
"I think events like this make us remember the sacrifice those young lads made during the raid, said well-wisher Roy Taylor."They never got the recognition they deserved I don't think."

Derwent reservoir was one of the places pilots practised low-flying before the raid

The Dambusters raid was carried out by 133 airmen, flying 19 Lancaster bombers armed with the "bouncing bombs" designed by Sir Barnes Wallis.
Dr Wallis's daughter described him as a "man of peace" but said he acted out of a sense of patriotic duty.

"He was not a man of war and that is often not, I think, properly understood," Mary Stopes-Roe told the BBC. "But if you have to defend something you have to defend it and that's it, you do your duty."

He was "devastated" when he heard how many airmen had been lost, she said. 'Very successful'

Dambusters raid: Retrace their daring journey
Compared to today's pilots, who must fly 250ft above ground, they flew incredibly low at 60ft. They alsohad to fly in the dark for the night-time raid.
They flew so low, according to historian Dan Snow, that one hit the sea, tearing off the bomb carried by the plane. Another flew into high voltage electricity cables and was engulfed in flames.
Codenamed Operation Chastise, 56 of the men who took off on the mission did not return.

Out of 19 bombers, eight were shot down and 53 were killed.

Eight-year-old Jack Porter, who travelled with his father from Manchester to watch the flypast, said: "I can't believe they flew so low in the dark. They were very brave.
"It was brilliant to see the Lancaster today."

The military impact of the Dambusters raid, immortalised in a 1955 film starring Michael Redgrave, is disputed.

"I believe from an operational point of view they were very successful," veteran Les Munro told the BBC. "They had achieved the two major primary targets."
Writing for the BBC news website, Dan Snow said : "No raid mounted by so few aircraft had ever caused such extensive material damage.

"It did not bring German war production to a permanent halt, but nobody had expected it to."

Canadian rear gunner Fred Sutherland, 89, and 91-year-old Squadron Leader George 'Johnny' Johnson are the only other two surviving members of 617 Squadron.

70th anniversary of the Dam Busters raid at Bomber Command in Nanton Alberta

VOLUME may be an issue while engines are running.

One of the most daring and tactically demanding air operations in history,
the legendary Dambusters Raid utilized a bouncing bomb
released at an altitude of sixty feet to destroy enemy hydroelectric dams.
A brilliant tactical success was achieved
but eight of the nineteen Lancaster bombers did not return.

Of the 133 airmen who flew on the raid, 53 were killed and three became Prisoners of War.
Of the thirty Canadians who flew, only fifteen returned safely to base.

This is some footage from the 70th Anniversary Commemoration of the Dam Buster's raid. Being a relative of Guy Gibson's navigator I got prime seating. Woohoo, glory for no achievement.

One video is of a Bristol Hercules engine, and the other two are of the partially restored Avro Lancaster in limited operation (you may notice two of the engines are non-functional and missing their propellers). The Lancaster's engines were run twice. During the runs, family of the Dam Busters were invited inside the Lancaster. For the first run I hung out inside and for the second I took a front row seat outside.

For all you mechanical, aviation and WWII enthusiasts, enjoy!

Thursday night's nasty weather took a toll on area vegetation and one Kansas City police officer.

At about 6:30 p.m., Officer Pepper Walker spotted a tree that had fallen onto Pleasant Valley Road near N. Jackson Avenue while on patrol.

Walker went to attempt to drag the tree off the roadway into a nearby ditch, but it was Walker who wound up on the ground after the branch he was using to drag the tree snapped. Watch the video in the player above.

Walker suffered no injuries, bouncing right back up after the fall.

Kansas City police, via their Twitter account, posted Walker's tumble for all the world to see, leaving Walker more embarrassed than hurt.

Actor Rob Schneider Speaks Out Against the Dangers of Vaccines

Actor, Rob Schneider talks out against vaccines, parental rights, corporate greed and AB2109.

For background, This LL user has been a witness to the effects of vaccinations on babies.
Watched an ex-girlfriends newborn bouncing happy baby, turn into a stone statue within 1 week after it's last round of shots. Stopped smiling, stopped making eye-contact, stopped moving around.. The doctors said they had no idea what it was. Within a month she was having convulsions. The doctors still didn't have any idea. She was finally diagnosed with Gillian Barre days before her death.

The doctors had no answer for why they diagnosed her as a perfectly healthy baby just months earlier, or how Gillian Barre showed up and killed her so quickly.

It took me some years (4-5) before I started seeing others sharing the same exact story, and their vaccination timing to the downfall of their children, matched.
That's when I began to get a clue...

I would put money on it, It was the vaccinations.

All forms of Guillain-Barr'e syndrome are autoimmune diseases,
due to an immune response to foreign antigens (such as infectious
agents) that is mis-targeted at host nerve tissues instead, a phenomenon
called molecular mimicry .
