The spacewalk got underway at 5:44 a.m. PDT and was expected to last more than six hours, according to NASA. The astronauts removed and replaced the faulty pump controller box on the far port truss of the International Space Station. No evidence of a continued ammonia leak was evident as NASA restarted the faulty coolant loop. Cassidy used power and hand tools to retrieve a spare controller box, while ground managers instructed him about such things as how many foot-pounds of torque to apply to bolts, and how long it would be until they had sunlight. "Chris and Tom are safely outside ISS, hard at work in the vacuum of space, looking for signs of the ammonia leak. THAT was a busy AM inside," he wrote early in the walk. "Do you hear how different their voices sound at the suit's low pressure? Turns out in the 4.2 psi oxygen you can't whistle -- air's too thin," he wrote later. The leak, observed Thursday, comes from a pump that circulates ammonia coolant to one of eight solar panel systems that provide electricity to the station. That coolant loop has caused trouble for some time, and crew members attempted to locate and repair a leak in November, according to International Space Station program manager Michael Suffredini. The spacewalk was the 168th for the International Space Station but was considered precedent-setting because of how rapidly the unplanned repair task unfolded. Although the six-member crew of Expedition 35 was in no danger, and there are seven other solar panels to provide power, NASA officials wanted to get the system back in operation to avoid anomalies in the power supply that could affect experiments and other tasks planned for the mission. The truss where the pair were working, called P6, was launched to the station in November 2000 and is one of the oldest components of the station's backbone. It was relocated from its original installation position to the far left side of the station during a Discovery mission in 2007. Most of the specifics are under seal, but the documents filed May 1 and publicly available state Robson's claim to monies comes from "childhood sexual abuse." The documents cite sealed evidence from a mental health practioner. Jackson died four years ago at age 50, becoming the the only person in Los Angeles County not in the medical field to die of propofol intoxication in their home in the last 14 years. Since his death, his estate's net worth has soared as allegations of molestation have faded. In 2005, a highly publicized trial concluded with Jackson being found not guilty of multiple counts of abusing a 13-year-old cancer survivor in 2003. During that trial, a housekeeper testified she saw Jackson showering with a boy she believed to be Robson, who as an adult went on to do choreography for Britney Spears. Robson testified under oath that while he stayed at the Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County numerous times and slept in Jackson's bed, he was never molested. "Absolutely not," he replied when questioned by Jackson attorney Thomas A. Mesereau Jr. whether he had ever been molested. It comes in armored tanker trucks fitted with a cannon that can spray a jet of stinking fluid over crowds who know how to cope with plain old tear gas. While the army calls skunk an attempt to minimize casualties, rights groups dismiss it as a fig-leaf for the use of deadlier force against protesters in the occupied West Bank. For although recent years have been among the quietest of the 45-year-old occupation, Israel has been unable to stop an epidemic of local grassroots demonstrations that often turn into clashes. Skunk is certainly a repellent, but not a complete deterrent. The protesters are fouled but not foiled. On a Friday in the West Bank's rugged hills, battle lines are drawn for another day of protest. Gangly Palestinian youths in jeans are ready to let fly stones from homemade slings at Israeli soldiers down the main road of Nabi Saleh village, whose residents demand access to a local spring seized by Israeli settlers. The soldiers form a phalanx around their curious weapon of war. &quot;We run away fast when it comes at us, but we don't quit,&quot; said a local boy clutching a rock, his dark eyes framed by the oval opening of a black t-shirt wrapped around his face. &quot;They think they're pretty smart for inventing it, but they still move on to the tear gas, bullets, and breaking into our homes, just the same as usual,&quot; he said. A skunk truck was spotted recently at a base high in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, ready to repel any assault on the fence along the disengagement line between Israel and Syria. A rush by Palestinians from Syria caught Israeli troops by surprise last year and they opened fire, killing a dozen people. Withering Israeli military incursions into West Bank towns have become as much a memory as Palestinian suicide bombings in Israeli cities in recent years. But local protests have continued against land lost to Israel's separation barrier and Israeli settlements on land seized in a 1967 war. Seventeen Palestinians have been killed in protests since 2004, according to Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem. Scores have been wounded. CLOSED MILITARY ZONES The demonstrations play out to a predictable choreography. Many of the young protesters and Israeli soldiers have even come to know each other by name. They use the knowledge mostly to sharpen the taunts they trade about each others' mothers. Each village has its own script. In Bil'in, where a court petition by locals reclaimed a portion of the village land from the wall, the fetid stream of skunk now sails at protesters from behind its concrete ramparts.
