Pakistan: Calls for attacks on Christians emanate from Mosque loudspeakers

A Muslim political candidate suspected of murdering a Christian has instigated calls from mosque loudspeakers for attacks on Christians, whom he blames for his May 11 election loss.

Tensions were high in Punjab Province's Okara district after provincial assembly seat candidate Mehr Abdul Sattar, sought by police in connection with a 2008 murder, on May 13 arranged for mosque calls for violence against Christian villages.

"Burn their homes to the ground ... Punish them such that they forget Gojra and Joseph Colony," blared village mosques in the district, according to Younas Iqbal, chairman of the Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab, a peasant movement fighting for land rights.

Iqbal told Morning Star News by phone that that when unofficial election results were announced on May 12, Sattar's supporters ambushed a convoy of about 100 Christians on their way to congratulate his opponent on his victory.

"They destroyed two motorcycles and threw them in the canal, besides damaging a tractor," Iqbal said. "We went to the Okara Saddar Police Station to register a case, but the police officials refused to move against Mehr."

Recent religious furor has been easily stoked in Pakistan. In Lahore on March 9, about 3,000 Muslims attacked Christians in Joseph Colony, destroying 175 homes, after rumors spread of an alleged remark against Islam by a Christian. In Gojra in 2009, eight Christians were burned alive, 100 houses looted and 50 homes set ablaze after a blasphemy accusation.

Sattar has targeted Christians in several villages, designated by number-letter combinations from British colonial times, particularly village 8/4-L, for voting against him, Iqbal said. Christians largely voted for Mian Yawar Zaman, also a Muslim, for a provincial assembly seat in the general election on May 11.

Iqbal said that early on May 13, Sattar's men prevented the Christian principal of the Government Primary School, Shamoun Masih, men from entering the institution.

"They told Shamoun that since the Christians had voted against Mehr, he wouldn't be allowed inside," he said. "They also roughed him up, but there were no serious injuries. In 3/4-L village, Amjad Masih was harassed."

Iqbal added that Sattar's supporters had also forcibly occupied land of some Christians.

"The threat of violence in 8/4-L is most serious because of the tiny Christian population there," Iqbal said of the village of roughly 600 Christians. "Sensing the gravity of the situation, we immediately informed Zaman, the legislator-elect, who pressed the police to deploy personnel in the village."

Okara Police Chief Rao Jabbar told Morning Star News that officers would take all necessary measures to protect the Christian peasants.

"We have taken notice of the inciting speeches made by Mehr Abdul Sattar, and I have assured the Christians that we will initiate legal action against him," Jabbar said. "Meantime, I've directed all police officers concerned to remain vigilant and ensure that there is no damage to life and property of the Christians."

Police have been helpless in the face of Sattar, though, Iqbal said.

"Even though the district police chief has promised to protect the area's Christians, the danger will always remain there," he said. "Several cases have been registered against Mehr, but no action has been taken against him. In January this year, the police tried to arrest Mehr and his men in a murder case, but his supporters blocked three main highways for several hours, forcing the police to abandon action against him."

Police sought Sattar in connection with the murder of Javed Masih, a Christian who had opposed Sattar in a 2008 election.

"The late Javed Masih used to tell the peasants to vote according to their conscience and not get intimidated by gangsters like Mehr," Iqbal said. "His efforts bore fruit, and Mehr lost the general election in 2008. Unfortunately, Masih had to sacrifice his life for the cause, while several others were injured in an armed attack by Mehr's men."

In this month's election, Iqbal likewise told Christians to vote for the person they thought best. Zaman belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, which has emerged as the single largest party in national and Punjab assemblies.

"The humiliating defeat further stoked anger in Mehr, and he's now bent upon punishing us," he said, adding that Sattar has targeted no Muslims for opposing him.

"Our application against Mehr Abdul Sattar is still pending with the police, but it seems more Christian blood will be shed before he is brought to justice," Iqbal said. "But this will not deter us from using our right to vote. We refuse to give in to the tyranny of criminals like Mehr."

Besides village 8/4-L, the threatened Christian areas in provincial constituency PP-191 are village 10/4-L, with an estimated Christian population of 3,000; 11/4-L, where 2,000 Christians live; and 26/4-L, in which around 1,000 Christians are settled.

The peasant land movement that became the issue of contention for Sattar arose more than 10 years ago in response to what Iqbal calls the Pakistan Army's illegal occupation of 64,000 acres in some 10 districts of Punjab. Catholic Capuchins had relocated Christians to the area of central Punjab Province to provide dairy products to the British Army during World War II, and the British turned the land over to the Pakistan Army when the sub-continent was partitioned, Iqbal said.

"At the time of partition of the sub-continent, the Christians were not given the land rights which were promised to them by the Capuchin fathers," he said. "Because of this, Christians are at the forefront of the peasants' movement, which is facing the powerful Pakistan Army for their due right, as the Britons had handed over the lands to the Army after the partition."

Sattar had initially worked with the peasant cause, he said.

"But then he began creating fissures in the movement, coaxing the Muslim members not to take directions from the Christian leadership," Iqbal said. "He then left the movement and got involved in criminal activities, subsequently landing in politics. However, Mehr's political career failed to take off because thousands of Christians of the area don't vote for him."

The Large Families that rule the world

Some
people have started realizing that there are large financial groups
that dominate the world. Forget the political intrigues, conflicts,
revolutions and wars. It is not pure chance. Everything has been planned
for a long time.
Some call it "conspiracy theories" or
New World Order. Anyway, the key to understanding the current political
and economic events is a restricted core of families who have
accumulated more wealth and power.
We are speaking of 6, 8 or maybe 12 families who truly dominate the world. Know that it is a mystery difficult to unravel.

We will not be far from the truth by
citing Goldman Sachs, Rockefellers, Loebs Kuh and Lehmans in New York,
the Rothschilds of Paris and London, the Warburgs of Hamburg, Paris and
Lazards Israel Moses Seifs Rome.

Many people have heard of the
Bilderberg Group, Illuminati or the Trilateral Commission. But what are
the names of the families who run the world and have control of states
and international organizations like the UN, NATO or the IMF?
To try to answer this question, we can
start with the easiest: inventory, the world's largest banks, and see
who the shareholders are and who make the decisions.

The world's largest companies are now: Bank of America, JP Morgan, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Let us now review who their shareholders are.

Bank of America:
State
Street Corporation, Vanguard Group, BlackRock, FMR (Fidelity), Paulson,
JP Morgan, T. Rowe, Capital World Investors, AXA, Bank of NY, Mellon.

JP Morgan:
State Street Corp., Vanguard Group, FMR,
BlackRock, T. Rowe, AXA, Capital World Investor, Capital Research
Global Investor, Northern Trust Corp. and Bank of Mellon.

Citigroup:
State
Street Corporation, Vanguard Group, BlackRock, Paulson, FMR, Capital
World Investor, JP Morgan, Northern Trust Corporation, Fairhome Capital
Mgmt and Bank of NY Mellon.

Wells Fargo:
Berkshire
Hathaway, FMR, State Street, Vanguard Group, Capital World Investors,
BlackRock, Wellington Mgmt, AXA, T. Rowe and Davis Selected Advisers.

We can see that now there appears to be a nucleus present in all banks: State Street Corporation, Vanguard Group, BlackRock and FMR (Fidelity). To avoid repeating them, we will now call them the "big four"

Goldman Sachs:

"The big four," Wellington, Capital World Investors, AXA, Massachusetts Financial Service and T. Rowe.

Morgan Stanley:
"The
big four," Mitsubishi UFJ, Franklin Resources, AXA, T. Rowe, Bank of NY
Mellon e Jennison Associates. Rowe, Bank of NY Mellon and Jennison
Associates.

We can just about always verify the
names of major shareholders. To go further, we can now try to find out
the shareholders of these companies and shareholders of major banks
worldwide.

Bank of NY Mellon:
Davis
Selected, Massachusetts Financial Services, Capital Research Global
Investor, Dodge, Cox, Southeatern Asset Mgmt. and ... "The big four."

State Street Corporation (one of the "big four"):
Massachusetts
Financial Services, Capital Research Global Investor, Barrow Hanley,
GE, Putnam Investment and ... The "big four" (shareholders themselves!).

BlackRock (another of the "big four"):
PNC, Barclays e CIC.

Who is behind the PNC? FMR (Fidelity), BlackRock, State Street, etc.
And behind Barclays? BlackRock

And
we could go on for hours, passing by tax havens in the Cayman Islands,
Monaco or the legal domicile of Shell companies in Liechtenstein. A
network where companies are always the same, but never a name of a
family.
In short: the eight largest U.S.
financial companies (JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Citigroup,
Goldman Sachs, U.S. Bancorp, Bank of New York Mellon and Morgan
Stanley) are 100% controlled by ten shareholders and we have four
companies always present in all decisions: BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard and Fidelity.

In
addition, the Federal Reserve is comprised of 12 banks, represented by a
board of seven people, which comprises representatives of the "big
four," which in turn are present in all other entities.
In short, the Federal Reserve is
controlled by four large private companies: BlackRock, State Street,
Vanguard and Fidelity. These companies control U.S. monetary policy (and
world) without any control or "democratic" choice. These companies
launched and participated in the current worldwide economic crisis and
managed to become even more enriched.
To finish, a look at some of the companies controlled by this "big four" group

Alcoa Inc.

Altria Group Inc.

American International Group Inc.

AT&T Inc.

Boeing Co.

Caterpillar Inc.

Coca-Cola Co.

DuPont & Co.

Exxon Mobil Corp.

General Electric Co.

General Motors Corporation

Hewlett-Packard Co.

Home Depot Inc.

Honeywell International Inc.

Intel Corp.

International Business Machines Corp

Johnson & Johnson

JP Morgan Chase & Co.

McDonald's Corp.

Merck & Co. Inc.

Microsoft Corp.

3M Co.

Pfizer Inc.

Procter & Gamble Co.

United Technologies Corp.

Verizon Communications Inc.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Time Warner

Walt Disney

Viacom

Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.,

CBS Corporation

NBC Universal

The same "big four" control the vast majority of European companies counted on the stock exchange.

In addition, all these people run the
large financial institutions, such as the IMF, the European Central Bank
or the World Bank, and were "trained" and remain "employees" of the
"big four" that formed them.
The names of the families that control the "big four", never appear.

HATE cleric Abu Qatada is set to leave Britain by the summer after admitting defeat in his battle to remain here, an immigration court heard yesterday
The fundamentalist preacher is promising to return to Jordan to face terror charges when a fair-trial treaty comes into force.

Home Office lawyers yesterday revealed Jordanian lawmakers begin rubber stamping the deal today.

Campaigners welcomed the prospect of Qatada's exit, which will bring an end to a near 10-year battle that has cost Britain lb4million-plus.

MULTIVERSE DISCOVERY - First solid proof of other universes besides ours

The first 'hard evidence' that other universes exist has been found by scientists.

Cosmologists studying a map of the universe from data gathered by the Planck spacecraft have concluded that it shows anomalies that can only have been caused by the gravitational pull of other universes.

The map shows radiation from the Big Bang 13.8billion years ago that is still detectable in the universe - known as cosmic microwave radiation.

Scientists had predicted that it should be evenly distributed, but the map shows a stronger concentration in the south half of the sky and a 'cold spot' that cannot be explained by current understanding of physics.

Laura Mersini-Houghton, theoretical physicist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Richard Holman, professor at Carnegie Mellon University, predicted that anomalies in radiation existed and were caused by the pull from other universes in 2005.

Now that she has studied the Planck data, Dr Mersini-Houghton believes her hypothesis has been proven.

Her findings imply there could be an infinite number of universes outside of our own.
She said: 'These anomalies were caused by other universes pulling on our universe as it formed during the Big Bang.

'They are the first hard evidence for the existence of other universes that we have seen.'

Although some scientists remain sceptical about the theory of other universes, these findings may be a step towards changing views on physics.

The European Space Agency, which runs the lb515million Planck telescope, said: 'Because precision of Planck's map is so high, it made it possible to reveal some peculiar unexplained features that may well require new physics to be understood.'

Cambridge professor of theoretical physics Malcolm Perry told the Sunday Times that the findings could be real evidence of the existence of other universes.

While George Efstathiou, professor of astrophysics at the university, told the newspaper: 'Such ideas may sound wacky now, just like the Big Bang theory did three generations ago. But then we got evidence and now it has changed the whole way we think about the universe.'

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2326869/Is-universe-merely-billions-Evidence-existence-multiverse-revealed-time-cosmic-map.html

The Planck map of the CMBE shows the cold spot that could not be explained by modern physics, at least until now.

Laura Mersini-Houghton, theoretical physicist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Richard Holman, professor at Carnegie Mellon University, both theorized in 2005 these anomalies could be caused by the pull of other universes outside our own.

However, these notions were mostly speculation until recently when new data from the Planck Telescope provided a much more detailed map of the radiation.

Now the pair believes the data provides the first solid proof of multiverse theory.

To date, their hypothesis is the only one that can explain the stronger radiation in the south and the cold spot in that hemisphere.

Multiverse theory, if true, could explain a number of things including what caused the big bang that created the universe, what existed before the big bang, and why it is the universe appears precisely tuned to host human life, at least on planet Earth.

Several casualties including children have been reported after a historic tornado swept through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, devastating hundreds of buildings including two schools. Meteorologists reported winds up to 200 miles per hour.

A severe storm has generated baseball-sized hail, high winds and at least 28 tornadoes in the Midwest, including Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa. Residents remain in hiding as meteorologists forecast that the severe weather conditions will continue to generate destructive twisters.

A large tornado touched down in Moore, Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City on Monday, and seems to have caused catastrophic damage to several housing developments, and at least two schools in the area. Local television news deployed a helicopter to track the tornado as it moved through the area, and then began to survey the extensive destruction to the region.

Officials say that 75 children and teachers took shelter at Plaza Towers Elementary in Moore, which was essentially flattened by the passing tornado, and was the site of an ongoing search effort for unaccounted for children. Students at another local school, Briarwood Elementary, were accounted for and moved to a safe location.

CBS confirmed multiple casualties, including a three month baby and a four-year-old child. There was also a report of the bodies of a man, woman and child found at a 7-Eleven convenience store.

Mali government to resume talks with Tuaregs

Talks will resume soon between the Malian government and an ethnic Tuareg rebel group whose influence has been growing in the country's north, Burkina Faso's foreign minister says.

No immediate date was given for the negotiations, announced on Monday, though the announcement comes amid lingering questions about the future of rebel-held Kidal.

It has remained unclear how the town could take part in long-awaited elections now promised for July.

Earlier this month, a Malian military spokesperson said the country was in the final stages of preparation for an assault on the northern provincial capital.

Djibril Bassole, the Burkina Faso foreign affairs minister, said that talks would soon resume.

The last negotiations were back in December before the French launched a military offensive to remove the ultraconservative armed groups who had battled with the Tuareg rebels for control of Kidal and other northern cities.

"In the days to come, contact will be made with all the players and partners from the international community so that favourable conditions can be set up for holding elections in a calm atmosphere with the participation of all," he said.

Those conditions must include the disarmament of rebels from the National Movement for the Liberation of the Azawad, or the MNLA.

Collecting taxes

MNLA, which controls Kidal, has exerted its influence in the months since the French-led offensive routed out the ultraconservative fighters from major towns in the region.

MNLA fighters man the roadblocks in Kidal, and they have since started collecting taxes and appointed their own governor, thumbing their nose at the Malian state even as French soldiers continue to occupy the Kidal airport.

Kidal's confused status has become an embarrassment for the French as well as for the Malian government.

Many Malians remain opposed to the idea of negotiating with the Tuaregs, blaming them for the unrest that has devastated the country's economy and forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes.

A Tuareg rebellion last year and the Malian military's weak response to it first prompted mutinous soldiers to overthrow the president in a coup.

The turmoil allowed ultraconservatives to make inroads into the north, where they established a strict form of Islamic law that meted out public amputations and executions.

Tuaregs, though, remain deeply concerned about having the Malian military return to Kidal, fearing that the military could seek revenge after their humiliating defeat last year at the hands of the MNLA.

Reprisal killings

Already in Timbuktu, in Gao and in Sevare, the Malian army is accused of carrying out reprisal killings of Tuareg civilians accused of complicity with the rebels.

Bassole's comment on Monday came after he met Tiebele Drame, the newly appointed Malian envoy to Kidal, and Blaise Compaore, Burkina Faso president.

Compaore had served as a mediator in the Mali crisis for the West African regional bloc known as ECOWAS.

At talks held in Ouagadougou last December, the MNLA agreed to stop pursuing a separate state in Mali's north called Azawad.

The Tuaregs, a traditionally nomadic people spread across the Sahara Desert, have risen up against the central government in Mali several times since the country's independence from France in 1960.

They have long complained that Mali's government - which is dominated by ethnic groups from the country's south - has ignored the nation's impoverished north.

Man Fined $1,000 for saving Boy's Life with Unregistered Handgun

Authorities last week made an agreement not to prosecute a Northwest D.C. man who used his unregistered handgun to kill a pit bull in order to stop it from mauling a child in his neighborhood to death.

As part of the agreement, Benjamin Srigley , 39, was required to pay a $1,000 fine but will not have criminal charges filed against him for the three unregistered firearms and the ammunition that investigators found in his possession, said Ted Gest , a spokesman for the office of the attorney general.

"We took it into account that he saved this boy's life," Mr. Gest said.

Possession of an unregistered firearm or ammunition in the District is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine, and prosecutors said Mr. Srigley could have faced up to seven criminal charges in the case.

"In our recent memory this is a unique charge because of the unusual circumstances of this case," said Mr. Gest , whose office generally prosecutes low-level crime in the District.

The horrific incident that spawned the investigation occurred on a Sunday afternoon in late January as 11-year-old Jayeon Simon and his friend rode bicycles near Eighth and Sheridan streets Northwest in the Brightwood neighborhood. According to court records filed in D.C. Superior Court, three unleashed pit bulls pounced on Jayeon and attacked him.

Seeing the attack, Mr. Srigley went inside his home to get his Ruger 9mm pistol while several other men hopped over fences to get away from the dogs, court records state.

From behind the wooden fence of his front lawn, Mr. Srigley began firing at the dogs. His shots attracted the attention of a Metropolitan Police Department officer on bicycle patrol nearby, and he also opened fire on the dogs, killing the other two.

The boy survived the attack but now bears scars on his elbow, torso and leg as a reminder.

Jayeon 's family is thankful for Mr. Srigley , crediting him for saving the boy's life.

"I don't think he should be charged at all because it's an act of heroism," said Chris Speight , 45, a cousin who helps care for Jayeon .

In addition to deciding how to handle Mr. Srigley 's case last week, authorities also made the decision to press charges against the dogs' owner, Alan Paige .

Mr. Paige , who lives a block north of the corner where the attack occurred, will face nine criminal charges - including three counts of possession of a dangerous dog, three counts of having an unleashed dog, and three counts of allowing a dog to go without a collar. The charges account for each of the three dogs, Mr. Gest said.

Mr. Paige could not be reached at his home Friday for comment. A hearing is scheduled in June for his case.

Answering the door at his home, a duplex with a stone facade and well-manicured yard, Mr. Srigley held his own dog back from his front door and declined Friday to comment on the case because it is still technically pending in court. The office of the attorney general is deferring prosecution, meaning it will remain active while Mr. Srigley meets conditions set by authorities.

In addition to paying a $1,000 fine, which was submitted in full Wednesday when the case when to court, the charges against Mr. Srigley - who police noted has no criminal record - will be dropped on condition he is not charged with any other crimes in the next two months.

While investigating the case, police seized Mr. Srigley 's pistol, which he said he purchased legally in Virginia when he lived there, and close to 100 rounds of ammunition from his home. Mr. Srigley told investigators that he owned two other guns - an antique M-1 rifle and a Mossburg 12-gauge shotgun - which were in a storage space in the District.

Police also seized those guns, but authorities have agreed they will return the firearms to Mr. Srigley when he registers them in Maryland, where he plans to soon move.

ONE OF THE MOST UNLIKELY ANIMALS BEING TRAINED TO HUNT LAND MINES

ZAGREB, Croatia (TheBlaze) - There are some innovative ideas to safely find and detonate land mines to prevent accidents like that which haunts Mirjana Filipovic, who lost her boyfriend and her own leg while on a fishing trip that took them to a supposedly de-mined area in Croatia nearly a decade ago. But one idea featuring an unlikely hero is causing quite a buzz - literally.Croatian researchers are training sugar-craving honeybees to find unexploded mines littering their country and the rest of the Balkans.

When Croatia joins the European Union on July 1, in addition to the beauty of its aquamarine Adriatic sea, deep blue mountain lakes and lush green forests, it will also bring numerous un-cleared minefields to the bloc's territory. About 750 square kilometers (466 square miles) are still suspected to be filled with mines from the Balkan wars in the 1990s.

Nikola Kezic, an expert on the behavior of honeybees, sat quietly together with a group of young researchers on a recent day in a large net tent filled with the buzzing insects on a grass field lined with acacia trees. The professor at Zagreb University outlined the idea for the experiment: Bees have a perfect sense of smell that can quickly detect the scent of the explosives. They are being trained to identify their food with the scent of TNT.

"Our basic conclusion is that the bees can clearly detect this target, and we are very satisfied," said Kezic, who leads a part of a larger multimillion-euro program, called "Tiramisu," sponsored by the EU to detect land mines on the continent.

Several feeding points were set up on the ground around the tent, but only a few have TNT particles in them. The method of training the bees by authenticating the scent of explosives with the food they eat appears to work: bees gather mainly at the pots containing a sugar solution mixed with TNT, and not the ones that have a different smell.

Kezic said the feeding points containing the TNT traces offer "a sugar solution as a reward, so they can find the food in the middle."

"It is not a problem for a bee to learn the smell of an explosive, which it can then search," Kezic said. "You can train a bee, but training their colony of thousands becomes a problem."

Sandia National Laboratories and the University of Montana too have conducted research using honeybees to locate hidden land mines.

Croatian officials estimate that since the beginning of the Balkan wars in 1991, about 2,500 people have died from land mine explosions. During the four-year war, around 90,000 land mines were placed across the entire country, mostly at random and without any plan or existing maps.

Dijana Plestina, the head of the Croatian government's de-mining bureau, said the suspected devices represent a large obstacle for the country's population and industry, including agriculture and tourism. In the nearly two decades since the end of the war, land mines have taken the lives of 316 people, including 66 de-miners, she said.

"While this exists, we are living in a kind of terror, at least for the people who are living in areas suspected to have mines," she said. "And of course, that is unacceptable. We will not be a country in peace until this problem is solved."

In 2004, Filipovic and her boyfriend were on a fishing trip that took them to a river between Croatia and Bosnia.

"As we were returning hand-in-hand, my boyfriend stepped on a mine," the 41-year-old Filipovic said. "It was an awful, deafening explosion ... thousands of shrapnel parts went flying, hundreds ending up in my body. He was found dead several meters away, while I remained in a pool of blood sitting on the ground."

She sued the Croatian government, saying the area wasn't clearly marked as a former minefield.

"At first I thought I was asleep," she recalled. "Then I heard the voice of my father. I opened my eyes, and saw nothing. I thought I lost my eyes."

The government admitted guilt in the case for failing to keep the minefield sign, but the court has yet to determine financial compensation.

It may be a while before the honeybees hit real minefields, Kezic said. First, they will conduct controlled tests, with real mines but which are marked.

Kezic said American researchers have in the past experimented with mine-searching bees, but TNT - the most common explosive used in the Balkan wars - wasn't part of their experiment because its smell evaporates quickly, and only small traces remain after time. Rats and dogs are also used to detect explosives worldwide, but unlike bees, they could set off blasts on the minefields because of their weight.

Even after the de-miners have done their job in an area, some land mines are missed and remain in the soil, and they are most often the cause of deadly explosions. Once the experiment with bees proves scientifically reliable, the idea is to use them in the areas that have already been de-mined, where their movement would be followed with heat-seeking cameras, Kezic said.

"We are not saying that we will discover all the mines on a minefield, but the fact is that it should be checked if a minefield is really de-mined," he said. "It has been scientifically proven that there are never zero mines on a de-mined field, and that's where bees could come in."

Seven top cyber
safety measures for business

One in five Australian
businesses suffered an electronic breach or cyber attack in 2012. Most report
an average of two attacks a year. Companies put their own ability to
effectively secure their organisation at 4.5 out of 10. Australia is now 21st
in the most attacked nations list, up from 24th.

Statistics on the lack
of business cyber security and increase in cyber attacks abound. It's no wonder
experts continue to warn that poor security practices can compromise company
finances and put commercial and customer information in the wrong hands.

According to Australia's Computer Emergency
Response Team (CERT) 2012 Cyber Crime and Security Survey
Report in February, 20 per cent of Australian businesses were the subject of
hacking or other cyber-attacks last year.

The most serious
involved the use of malicious software including ransomware and scareware,
which extort payments for the return of data; trojan or rootkit malware, which
lodge in the company's systems to steal information; theft or breach of
confidential information; and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.

In Operation Lino,
Australia's biggest investigation into compromised credit cards, it was found
that a Romanian criminal syndicate gained access to 500,000 Australian credit
cards, and about 30,000 credit cards were used for fraudulent transactions
amounting to more than $30 million.

"Businesses were
compromised, where full control of their computers gave full access to
point-of-sale terminals, which gave access to details of all credit
cards," says Brad Marden, Australian Federal Police acting manager for
cyber crime operations.

According to the
Symantec Internet Security Threat Report released Tuesday, AUstralia
experienced an increase inthe level of cybercrime in 2012 and is now ranked
21st in the most targeted nations by cyber criminals.

Peter Sparkes,
Symantec's director for managed security services, said Australia's enthusiasm
for technology was partly the reason.

"As a nation of early
adopters with a strong economy which uses technology to remain competitive,
Australia is turning out to be an attractive target for cybercriminals,"
Sparkes said in a statement.

A study of 485
Australian technology and security professionals by the Ponemon Institute for
Juniper Networks released this week as part of a global survey, found
respondents rated their own organisation's security effectiveness as 4.5 out of
10. They rated their organisation's ability to quickly detect and prevent cyber
attacks also as poor at 4.4 and 4.6, respectively.

The report said the
issues that keep most IT and IT security practitioners up at night are
"the theft of their organisation's intellectual property, including
research and development, business strategies and industrial processes";
and the theft of "confidential information used to obtain authentication
credentials to infiltrate networks and enterprise systems".

But Marden says 85 per
cent of cyber intrusions can be prevented, and recommends adopting some of the
Australian government's Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) strategies. Security
vendors also offer similar advice.

basic tips:

8-Year-Old 'Bride' Bleeds to Death on Wedding Night

The 8-years-old girl whose story you'll read in coming lines did not make it to the 2nd night of her wedding nor did she make it to her 9th or 10th birthday.

Her name unknown, my source telephoned me last week at 9:30 pm to tell me her story. At the first I thought it's just going to be a short conversation but later it was unveiled that the story is different.

The story came from a village in Khashrood district of Nimruz province in Afghanistan.

A medical doctor assigned in the main hospital in Zaranj city, the capital of the province, who wished to remain unnamed confirmed that he was "made aware" of the incident and that it was "too late to do anything for her" as well the "remote area didn't allow them to do anything".

The girl was one of the several daughters of a man in his late 30s. For an unknown reason he gave his daughter to the Mullah of their village for a big amount of money. It is also common in Afghanistan's rural areas or 3rd level provinces/cities to marry young girls to old men, and trading their daughters for their debts or other items.

The mullah is in his late 50s and is the mosque guy of the village where this incident happened.

The mullah is already married and has many children too.
The two families hold a tribal meeting, agree on the price that the groom's family pay to the bride's family, and they set a date for wedding.

In rural areas like this here there are no engagements or any ceremonies beforehand like there are some in the metropolitan and urban areas.

The two families planned a wedding party, the wedding and Nekah (The religious process in which a woman is officially married to a man) took place and the 8-years-old bride became the 50-years-old Mullah's 2nd wife.

The celebration party was over and the sun downed - the time to have sex (not make love) with the 8-years-old bride.

The girl was just 8 years old and everybody understands the fact that she knows nothing about sex or wedding or making love or virginity or sexual related topics; not even at a basic level for two reasons, one being that she's just a child - not even a teenager and that in that part of the country, nobody knows anything about these things nor they are given trainings or education about a healthy sexual life.

The mullah takes off the bride's clothes as well as his owns and with apparent so much happiness approaches her for sexual intercourse with the 8-years-old bride.
Because of the Mullah's huge physique which gave him a big penis, he threw himself on her and started to penetrate the girl's vagina.

After several tries that led him to failure to penetrate her vagina, the Mullah was frustrated.

He failed because the 8-years-old girl who was about to die was physically thin and had a very tight vagina opening.

Sourced from the Mullah's animal behavior, he took out the sharp knife that he always carried with himself in his pocket and tore apart the girl's vagina from the clitoris side upwards as well as tore it downwards towards her anus in order to make the vagina larger enough so he can enter his penis into her vagina.

Naturally, she started to bleed in a very bad amount, but the mullah was too annoyed for not being able to have sex with her, to care for what he did or her bleeding or her wounds that he gave her.

The girl had her scarf stuffed in her mouth, crying and trying to not raise her voice because others were there in the room adjacent to or outside.

It is a rule in some of the areas in Afghanistan that the groom brings out a piece of cloth that he cleaned his wife's hymen blood with it as a proof that the girl was virgin.

Mullah entered his penis into the girl's severely bleeding vagina and had sexual intercourse with her on a blood-covered bed, and then got up and cleaned himself with a cloth.

The girl, who now has lost everything, was bleeding and there was nobody to help her neither could the Mullah ask for help as it was a shame for him and the girl's family (who were sitting over a cup of tea in the other room, would kill him).

Our 8-years-old bride bled and went into a traumatic shock because of both forced sex as well as severe bleeding. She had lost so much blood, this I can tell for certain.

She bled and bled as herself was in trauma shock until morning and early in the morning around 5 when the sun was about to rise, she passed away.

According to the Mullah, she was pale and her eyes were open when she died. The bed, as he described, was all red with her blood and she was lying in her blood only. No cloth beneath her was recognizable and everything was in dried blood because a whole night had passed on the blood.

She was pale because she had lost all her body's blood. Her eyes were open as she was shivering when she died and her hands were tied in a praying position, saying her death time prayer.

The Mullah called in the same person and asked him to clean up the mess around and prepare a reason to tell the others for her death. Because the man was a close friend or family of the mullah, he did whatever he could, including every piece of cloth that was bloody.

They wrapped her in a piece of white clothes and called the others that she has passed away.

That morning her family mourned her death in the saddest manner without looking for proper explanation about her death, and then took her to wash her body as a religious ritual.

Because the Mullah had a great influence on the village, none of the women who washed the girl's body dared to ask or seek the reason for the wounds around her vagina.

By 10 am or so they rallied the now-dead 8-years-old bride to the graveyard and buried her.

Her life ended.

The close friend of mullah, who knew everything, was very upset and shared the story with my source that then called me and told me the story.

Another doctor that I asked in Zaranj said that he wasn't aware of the case, but he remembers that he used to treat the now-dead bride when she was 4 or 5 years old.

This doctor also asked me to not name him anywhere but only said that he was "deeply saddened that incidents like that still happen in Afghanistan".

He called it one of the reasons of Afghanistan no going forward: People's idiocy and uncivilized behaviors and traditions.

This story reached to me was told the exact way as it happened by the Mullah to a very close friend of him after the girl's dead body was buried. According to the Mullah, he had a "bad conscience" about it.

"UN Gun Grab Follows State Department Plan "Complete disarmament" of the American people "

The UN Arms Trade Treaty that has been identified by observers as a
flagrant threat to the second amendment and which Barack Obama is
determined to sign has its roots in a 1961 State Department memorandum
which explains how the United Nations will oversee "complete
disarmament" of the American people under the ruse of preventing war.

The UN Arms Treaty has caused so much controversy because it outlines a
plan to target "all types of conventional weapons, notably including
small arms and light weapons," according to Forbes' Larry Bell.

Former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton also warns that the
agreement "is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about
international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt
that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control."

A letter sent last month by 130 Republican House members to President
Obama argued that the treaty should be rejected because it infringes on
the "fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms". The letter
adds that "...the U.N.'s actions to date indicate that the ATT is likely
to pose significant threats to our national security, foreign policy,
and economic interests as well as our constitutional rights."

Using the rhetoric of the threat post by terrorists, insurgents and
"international crime syndicates," the UN is busy trying to imply that
all weapons are somehow involved in illegal activity on a global scale
and should therefore be controlled and regulated by a global authority.

This is precisely the same language used in a 1961 U.S. State Department briefing which outlined a long term agenda to carry out a "Program for General and Complete Disarmament in a Peaceful World."

Invoking the threat of nuclear warfare, the document spells out a plan
to create a "United Nations Peace Force" that would "enforce the peace
as the disarmament process proceeds."

While the document initially focuses on scrapping nuclear weapons, it
later makes it clear that the only groups allowed to own weapons of any
kind would be governing authorities, "for the purpose of maintaining
internal order," and the UN "peacekeeping" force itself, which would
require "agreed manpower."

"The manufacture of armaments would be prohibited except for those of
agreed types and quantities to be used by the U.N. Peace Force and those
required to maintain internal order. All other armaments would be
destroyed or converted to peaceful purposes," states the document.

While the memorandum outlines a broader mandate to destroy national
sovereignty, eviscerate national armies and institute the UN as the
planet's supreme authority with a world army, the document serves as a
stark reminder that the plan for the United Nations to oversee the
abolition of the second amendment has been in the works for decades.

As Bell points out in his Forbes article, the threat of the Obama
administration relying on a UN treaty to do what successive
administrations have tried but failed to accomplish - taking a huge bite
out of the second amendment - is by no means far fetched.

After all, a plethora of UN treaties and international agreements have
already stripped the United States of its sovereignty and its power to
decide its own laws. The power to authorize U.S. involvement in wars and
conflicts has now been almost completely stripped from Congress and
handed to the United Nations.

Following Barack Obama's arrogant rebuff of
Congress in seeking approval to strike Libya, during which he
churlishly remarked, "I don't even have to get to the Constitutional
question," Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta affirmed that the U.S. now requires "international permission" before deciding on its military policy.

Other Obama-endorsed UN power grabs like the Law of the Sea Treaty
(LOST) as well as Agenda 21 and sustainable development are also serving
to decimate national sovereignty and remain almost completely under the
radar.

You only need to look at the European Union, which now crafts around 50 per cent of the laws made in member states like Britain, to understand how unelected global institutions can and have dictated policy on a national level.

The UN Arms Trade Treaty presents an existential threat to the guns
rights of American citizens and should be rejected for what it is - yet
another attempt by the Obama administration, in the aftermath of the
Fast and Furious scandal, to abolish the second amendment by stealth.

"Quseir - Dozens of gunmen surrendered to the army units in the city"

"The Syrian Army has smashed the main communications and operations center for terrorists in al-Qaseir"

*********************************************From SyAF facebook:

"Syrian Arab Army officials have reported that Qusayr HQ has been captured and the terrorists are routing. The situation is developing by the hour. The bombing campaign continues to this very minute and will not end even if the rubble must be turned to dust in order for Qusayr to be a secure area."

"Families of Lebanese terrorist organisations that are clustered around Qusayr in Homs are advised to flee within the next 12 hours before the window of attack closes. The Syrian air force and missile forces along with heavy artillery is prepared to destroy most of the area of the city.
The town has been leafleted several times and though there has been some exodus, some Lebanese terrorists remain adamant not to allow their families to leave.
Syria has made a very hard choice, in light of the unforgivable acts of savagery in Homs, including cannibalism. It was clear to the leadership that the fighters there will not surrender and cannot reform. Therefor it was decided to burn the ground beneath their feet with the army's ultimate conventional weapon capacity.
The Syrian Air Force page will keep readers up to date on hourly developments as this battle begins."

"Syrian Army advanced towards the Northern district in Al Qseir, a stronghold of the most important and the largest and last rat hole"

"Pray for Qusair, it's being invaded by the regime army right now."

"I'm afraid that Homs is falling apart!! we've lost a lot and we've suffered a lot!! It's worse than you think it is! I can't explain more!!"

"Hello there, I just want to tell you that gates of hell are opened in Homs right now! Hysterical bombardment and deadly clashes everywhere."

"Terrorist 1: For months we said Alqusair Homs needed help..nothing..now, like a thriller nearing the end..massacre..everyone is suddenly interested.

"Homs: Fierce clashes are taking place at the orchards of Homs-Tripoli road now."
