By Michael Isikoff
National Investigative Correspondent, NBC News

Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on a controversial search warrant that identified Fox News reporter James Rosen as a "possible co-conspirator" in violations of the Espionage Act and authorized seizure of his private emails, a law enforcement official told NBC News on Thursday. The disclosure of the attorney general's role came as President Barack Obama, in a major speech on his counterterrorism policy, said Holder had agreed to review Justice Department guidelines governing investigations that involve journalists.

"I am troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable," Obama said. "Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs."

Rosen, who has not been charged in the case, was nonetheless the target of a search warrant that enabled Justice Department investigators to secretly seize his private emails after an FBI agent said he had "asked, solicited and encouraged ... (a source) to disclose sensitive United States internal documents and intelligence information."

Obama's comments follow a firestorm of criticism that has erupted over disclosures that in separate investigations of leaks of classified information, the Justice Department had obtained private emails that Rosen exchanged with a source and the phone records of Associated Press reporters.

Holder previously said he recused himself from the AP subpoena because he had been questioned as a witness in the underlying investigation into a leak about a foiled bomb plot in Yemen. His role in personally approving the Rosen search warrant had not been previously reported.

A Justice Department spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Department of Justice later issued a statement about the review of media guidelines: "This review is consistent with Attorney General Holder's long-standing belief that freedom of the press is essential to our democracy," it said. "At the same time, the attorney general believes that leaks of classified information damage our national security and must be investigated using appropriate law enforcement tools. We remain steadfast in our commitment to following all laws and regulations intended to safeguard national security as well as the First Amendment interests of the press in reporting the news and the public in receiving it."

The law enforcement official said Holder's approval of the Rosen search, in the spring of 2010, came after senior Justice officials concluded there was "probable cause" that Rosen's communications with his source, identified as intelligence analyst Stephen Kim, met the legal burden for such searches. "It was approved at the highest levels-- and I mean the highest," said the law enforcement official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. He said that explicitly included Holder.

Kim has since been indicted on charges that he leaked classified information to Rosen about how North Korea would respond to a United Nations resolution condemning the country's nuclear program. He has denied the charges.

In an affidavit in support of a search warrant to Google for Rosen's emails, an FBI agent wrote that the Fox News journalist -- identified only as "the Reporter" -- had "asked, solicited and encouraged Mr. Kim to disclose sensitive United States internal documents and intelligence information."

"The Reporter did so by employing flattery and playing to Mr. Kim's vanity and ego," it continued. "Much like an intelligence officer would run a clandestine intelligence source, the Reporter instructed Mr. Kim on a covert communications plan that involved" emails from his gmail account.

The affidavit states that FBI agents had tracked Rosen's entrances and exits of the State Department in order to show that they had coincided with Kim's movements. Based on that and other findings, the affidavit by FBI Agent Reginald B. Reyes, stated, "There is probable cause to believe that the Reporter has committed a violation" of the Espionage Act "at the very least, either as an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator of Mr. Kim."

It also said that Google was specifically instructed not to notify "the subscriber" -- Rosen -- that his emails were being seized.

In new documents disclosed Thursday, the Justice Department sought and obtained approval to keep the search warrant, which was approved by a federal magistrate, under seal. It was unsealed in November 2011, but never made a part of the docket of Kim's case and went unnoticed until this week.

Justice officials have since said they do not intend to criminally charge Rosen, but media groups have condemned the issuance of the search warrant itself.

"The Justice Department's decision to treat routine newsgathering efforts as evidence of criminality is extremely troubling and corrodes time-honored understandings between the public and the government about the role of the free press," said Bruce Brown, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.

In his speech Thursday, Obama reiterated his determination to pursue leak investigations. "We must enforce consequences for those who break the law and breach their commitment to protect classified information," he said.

But, he said, "Our focus must be on those who break the law," not journalists. He said he was calling on Congress to pass a media shield law and had raised the issue with Holder, "who shares my concern."

As part of the Justice Department review of guidelines, the president said, Holder will convene a group of media organizations to hear their views and "report back to me by July 12th."

NBC News Chief Justice Correspondent Pete Williams contributed to this report.

GMO Crop Sabotage on the Rise: French citizens destroy trial vineyard

GMO Crop Sabotage on the Rise: French citizens destroy trial vineyard

GMO grapevines destroyed (AFP)

By Rady Ananda
Food Freedom

Early Sunday morning, French police stood helpless as sixty people, locked inside an open-air field of genetically modified grapevines, uprooted all the plants. In Spain last month, dozens of people destroyed two GMO fields. On the millennial cusp, Indian farmers burned Bt cotton in their Cremate Monsanto campaign. Ignored by multinational corporations and corrupt public policy makers, citizens act to protect the food supply and the planet.

The French vineyard is the same field attacked last year when the plants were only cut. But the security features installed after that incident kept authorities at bay while the group accomplished its mission yesterday.

Speaking for the group, Olivier Florent told Le Figero that they condemned the use of public funds for open-field testing of GMOs "that we do not want."

Pitching tents in the rain near France's National Institute for Agronomic Research (INRA) site in Colmar the night before, the group waited until 5 AM before converging on the site and locking the gates behind them. They uprooted all 70 plants, then submitted to arrest.

This is the second attack on GMO crops to make international news this year. In July dozens of people destroyed two experimental corn crops in Spain. In an anonymous press release , they wrote, "This kind of direct action is the best way to respond to the fait accompli policy through which the Generalitat, the State and the biotech multinationals have been unilaterally imposing genetically modified organisms."

In the late 1990s, Indian farmers burnt Bt cotton fields in their Cremate Monsanto campaign. Monsanto did not disclose to farmers that the GM seeds were experimental. "Despite the heavy use of chemical fertiliser, traces of which still can be observed in the field, the Bt plants grew miserably, less than half the size of the traditional cotton plants in the adjacent fields."

After the Haiti earthquake this year, Monsanto offered 475 tons of hybrid corn and terminator vegetable seeds in partnership with USAID. In June, 10,000 Haitian farmers marched in protest of the "poison gift" which produces no viable seeds for future plantings and requires heavy chemical inputs. Haitian farm leader Chavannes Jean-Baptiste observed that the biotech plan makes farmers dependent on multinational corporations.

In the US, GMOs were secretly foisted on the public in the mid-1990s, and only now is the US Supreme Court addressing the scourge. In June, the high court upheld partial deregulation of GM alfalfa , which permits limited planting while the USDA prepares an Environmental Impact Statement. Natural and organic alfalfa supply is threatened by the very real potential of GM contamination. This would destroy the organic meat and dairy industry.

Last Friday, a federal court took a tougher position on GM sugar beets. Judge Jeffrey S. White revoked USDA approval of the GM beet , while allowing for its planting this year only.

Also this month, a British farmer exposed that milk and meat from cloned animals had secretly entered the food supply.

Public opposition to GM crops has grown in recent years as more evidence surfaces that DNA-altered crops:

Require massive chemical inputs which destroy local biodiversity and poison the water tables; Cross-pollinate with natural and weedy crops; Create superweeds ; and Have been shown to cause organ damage , sterility , and diabetes and obesity in mammals. Meanwhile, President Obama has stacked his Administration with biotech insiders going so far as to appoint Islam Siddiqui as Agriculture Trade Negotiator. Siddiqui is a former pesticide lobbyist and vice president of CropLife America, a biotech and pesticide trade group that lobbies to weaken environmental laws.

The US is pushing hard at the world to accept GM foods. Recently, the American Farm Bureau Federation called for stronger sanctions against the European Union for its GM crop ban.

But as governments and trade agreements circumvent the will of the people, some take matters into their own hands. The rise in GMO crop destruction is a clear indication that the world's people reject chemical and genetic pollution of the food supply and the environment.

Fox news reporter targeted by Obama administration.

Following is an article from Yahoo about another attack on the freedom of speech.

http://news.yahoo.com/obama-administration-targets-fox-news-reporter-chilling-echo-190527066.html

Associated Press reporters are not alone. One week after news broke that the Justice Department secretly obtained phone records from AP, more news has emerged about the Obama administration 's campaign to silence leaks.

This time, it's new details about a 2010 Justice Departmentinvestigation into a Fox News correspondent who reportedgovernment secrets on North Korea . The twist is that in the Fox News case, the government is suggesting that the reporter broke the law and criminal charges could result.

The news points to how the Obama administration is going to unprecedented lengths to defend secrets - prosecuting moregovernment leakers under the 1917 Espionage Act than all prior administrations combined.

Anecdotal evidence suggests the crackdown is having an effect, with AP saying some of its sources are falling silent. But that success could come at the expense of the newsgathering and investigative-reporting process that the Founding Fathers saw as a crucial check on federal power.

The Fox News case, in particular, suggests the "criminalization of investigative journalism," writes Glenn Greenwald in The Guardian, a British newspaper.

According to a Washington Post report Sunday , Fox News chief Washington correspondent James Rosen reported in June 2009 on a CIA analysis that suggested North Korea may respond to UN sanctions with more nuclear tests. The story was published online the same day that a confidential report on the matter was released to select officials in the intelligence community, including a State Department security adviser, Stephen Jin-Woo Kim.

Detecting a connection, FBI investigators built a case alleging Mr. Kim leaked information to Mr. Rosen. To do so, they used every tool in their arsenal: analyzing security badge access records to track Rosen's comings and goings from the State Department, tracing the timing of his calls to Kim, even subpoenaing his personal e-mails.

Ultimately, FBI agents concluded Kim did, in fact, leak information to Rosen using a complex, if clumsy, system of communication including aliases and coded signals.

In his report, FBI investigator Reginald Reyes said evidence suggested Rosen had broken the law, "at the very least, either as an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator."

While details on the case are forthcoming, it is not a crime for journalists to report classified information, except in rare circumstances. Furthermore, government seizure of media records is tightly circumscribed under the government's Code of Federal Regulations .

The AP and Fox News cases renew concerns about the potential stifling effect government investigations have on reporters and their sources.

"Search warrants like these have a severe chilling effect on the free flow of important information to the public," said First Amendment lawyer Charles Tobin in the Washington Post report. "That's a very dangerous road to go down."

Jane Mayer of The New Yorker goes further: "It's a huge impediment to reporting, and so chilling isn't quite strong enough, it's more like freezing the whole process into a standstill," she told the New Republic .

As a case in point, Gary Pruitt , CEO of the AP, told CBS's "Face the Nation" this weekend that the Justice Department's investigation is already silencing AP sources.

"Already, officials that would normally talk to us and people we talk to in the normal course of news gathering are already saying to us that they're a little reluctant to talk to us," he said. "They fear that they - they will be monitored by the government."

Perhaps the most serious implication, however, is that the investigations threaten to jeopardize the very practice of investigative journalism, already endangered by budget cuts and the 24/7 news cycle.

"Under US law, it is not illegal to publish classified information," writes The Guardian's Mr. Greenwald. "That fact, along with the First Amendment's guarantee of press freedoms, is what has prevented the US government from ever prosecuting journalists for reporting on what the US government does in secret. This newfound theory of the Obama DOJ - that a journalist can be guilty of crimes for 'soliciting' the disclosure of classified information - is a means for circumventing those safeguards and criminalizing the act of investigative journalism itself."

Man sentenced in N.C. plot to behead terror witness

A North Carolina man was sentenced Friday to four life terms for plotting to behead federal witnesses whose testimony helped convict him for his role in an earlier plot to slaughter U.S. servicemen and their families.
Hysen Sherifi, 29, was one of six Raleigh-area Muslims convicted in 2011 of planning to attack the Marine base in Quantico, Va., and overseas targets.

Shortly after starting his 45-year prison sentence in the terror case, Sherifi approached another inmate to help him hire a hit man to behead government informants and FBI agents. He recruited his younger brother Shkumbin Sherifi, 23, and former special education teacher Nevine Aly Elshiekh, 48, to help pay the hit man and organize the murders.

But the inmate whose help Sherifi sought turned out to be yet another government informant. FBI agents then staged an elaborate sting that involved secretly videotaped meetings with a woman posing as the go-between for a fictional hit man named Treetop and doctored photos that appeared to show the corpse of a beheaded witness in a shallow grave.

Federal prosecutors recommended leniency for the two coconspirators, who pleaded guilty last year and agreed to testify at the elder Sherifi's trial on nine felony counts.

Citing their extensive cooperation, U.S. District Senior Judge Earl sentenced the younger Sherifi to 3 years in prison, while Elshiekh got 3 1/2 years. They had faced as much as 10 years each.

Before Hysen Sherifi was sentenced, he lectured the judge about Islamic teachings.

"The Koran is the truth that invalidates all other religions," said Sherifi, who declined a court-appointed lawyer and represented himself at trial. "If you do not submit, he will severely judge you, and on the day of judgment you will enter hellfire."

"That it?" asked Britt, who has served more than three decades on the federal bench. The judge then tacked the four life sentences onto the end of Sherifi's earlier 45-year prison term, along with another 50 years on top of that.

"There can be no doubt Mr. Sherifi, the defendant in this case, meets the definition of a terrorist," Britt said. "He was the genesis of this conspiracy. He was the mastermind, though I'm hesitant to use that term because it affords him more credit than he is due."

Noting that the defendant was unsuccessful in killing anyone, Britt said Sherifi's worst transgression was destroying the lives of his little brother Shkumbin and Elshiekh, with whom he had carried on a romantic dalliance from behind bars.

Elshiekh, a U.S. citizen whose parents emigrated from Egypt, was a respected teacher of special-needs children who was also active as a youth leader at her Raleigh mosque.

According to court testimony, she had just undergone a painful divorce from a cheating husband when she began attending Sherifi's 2011 terrorism trial. She later began visiting him regularly in jail.

Dr. Emily Keram, a forensic psychiatrist hired by the defense, testified that Elshiekh was molested as a child by an uncle in Egypt and then trapped in an arranged marriage to a "con man" who later abandoned her to marry another woman.

Elshiekh was prescribed several psychiatric drugs that impaired her ability to reason and made her pliable to the will of others, the psychiatrist said.

At Hysen Sherifi's direction, Elshiekh gave a collection of gold jewelry given to her by her ex-husband to the younger brother, who pawned the pieces to raise the $5,000 he believed was needed to hire the hit man to execute the first victim.

Elshiekh claimed she had no idea what the money was for until she followed her paramour's direction to meet with a woman in a parked car. The woman, an informant for the FBI, showed Elshiekh a photo of one of the targeted witnesses and asked her to confirm that was the first man to be killed.

Though she then knew what the money was for, Elshiekh continued on with the plot for another 20 days until her arrest.

In her early court appearances, Elshiekh wore a headscarf and a black dress that fully covered her arms and legs. On Friday, her long hair trailed down her back and she wore western clothes.

In a tearful apology before the court on Friday, she accepted responsibility for what she had done.

"I wish I could turn back time, but I can't do that," she told the judge. "I never wanted anyone to get hurt."

Wearing shackles and a black Chicago T-shirt, Shkumbin Sherifi declined to address the judge before sentencing.

The Sherifis are ethnic Albanians who fled Kosovo in 1999 during a brutal sectarian war with Serbs and ended up as refugees in Raleigh. Though Hysen gravitated toward a militant strain of Islam, his younger siblings acclimated more readily to life in America. Shkumbin went so far as to record an amateur rap album.

Among those testifying Friday was one of the government witnesses Hysen Sherifi wanted dead. Melvin Weeks was a U.S. Army soldier serving in Kosovo after the war when he met the older Sherifi, who was visiting his grandparents.

Weeks, a Muslim, said Sherifi praised Osama bin Laden and showed him jihadist videos that included a hostage being beheaded. Though an American bombing campaign had saved the ethnic Albanians from genocide just a few years earlier, Weeks said Sherifi called for holy war against the very nation that gave his family a new home.

"In my opinion, he is a devil manifested here on Earth, walking among us," the former soldier said.

Learning From the Nazis: Israel Admits <span class="highlight">Secretly</span> Injecting Ethiopian Jews With Birth Control Drugs

AFRICANGLOBE - The director of the Ministry of Health in Israel, Roni Gamzo, has issued a formal directive instructing that gynaecologists should stop injecting Ethiopian women with the contraceptiveDepo-Provera without their knowledge or consent.

The directive, issued last week, comes after around 30 Ethiopian Jews who had emigrated to Israel said they had been told that they would not be allowed into the country without receiving the contraceptive drug.

Within Israel, Ethiopian Jews make up the majority of those given the drug, according to a report published in 2010 by Isha le'Isha, a women's rights organization; 57 percent of women who had received the drug in Israel are Ethiopian Jews, although they account for less than 2 percent of the overall population.

"We believe it is a method of reducing the number of births in a community that is Black," Hedva Eyal, the author of the report, told Israeli media. "It is indeed the first time that the state actually acknowledged that this procedure of injecting immigrant women with this drug, when they do not know the side effects and are given no other choice, is wrong."

The directive was issued less than two weeks after a group of organizations representing the Jewish Ethiopian community, along with the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), sent a letter to Gamzo asking that this practice be stopped immediately and that an investigation be started into it both in Israel and in the transit camps in Ethiopia.

Israel's Ministry of Health deputy spokesperson Smadar Shazo told reporters that while the directive was issued after the letter from the organizations, the ministry had begun investigating the matter a few months ago in an attempt to determine who was behind this policy in both Israel and the transit camps in Ethiopia.

"We started the research after an article in one of the dailies reported a steep decline in the number of babies born in the Ethiopian community, which is a young, supposedly fertile community," said Eyal.

Over 120,000 Jews of Ethiopian descent live in Israel today; 83,000 of them were born in Ethiopia.

Between 1985 and 1991, more than 30,000 were airlifted in three rescue operations after years of civil war and famine had driven hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians into the capital, Addis Ababa, and refugee camps in Sudan.

But their integration into Israeli society has not been easy; about 52 percent of Ethiopian-Israeli families live below the poverty line, compared to 16 percent among the general Jewish Israeli population, they are also forced to convert to Ashkenazi Jewish practices and encouraged to discontinue the Ethiopian Judaic traditions of their religion.

Depo-Provera was first used on Black populations in White apartheid South Africa, the drugs destroys a woman's longterm ability to have children.

Audio Files of Teens Happy Homes board meeting in 2010 with management consultant Jorge Gutierrez

Joshua Allen writes about the finances, ethical lapses, and moral issues concerning abused and neglected children. Recently, another discredited agency, Teens Happy Homes, has been exposed as an example of probably corruption, and incompetence. These audio files, which come from the LA Times site and were given to the Times reporter, by Askari Moyenda, who until recently, was involved in a legal dispute with the agency.

Audio Files of Teens Happy Homes board meeting in 2010 with management consultant Jorge Gutierrez

These audio files make fascinating listening. Anyone interested in the machinations of what goes on at these board meetings, are in for a treat.

The source of the audio, Askari Moyenda, turned over the recording to the LA Times, which put the links up on their site. Special admiration for Times reporter Garett Therolf, who has done excellent reporting on the sordid happenings at Teens Happy Homes.

It is curious though, that the recordings from a 2010 board meeting have surfaced now, three years after the fact, for reasons unknown. (cui bono?)

A lot of things have happened, during the past three years at Teens, much of it quite questionable, according to recent reports.

We are grateful for this opportunity to hear these discussions from three years ago, by some of the individuals, entrusted with the care of our abused and neglected children.

Just one question though: Are there any other recordings? Inquiring minds ...

ANAR Foundation manages in Spain the european
unique phone number 116 111, to attend children and teenagers under a
risk situation. On this telephone number, only for minors, they can find
the help they need in a totally anonymous and confidential way. But,
how can we get our message to a child abuse victim, even when they are
accompanied by their aggressor?

Knowing the average height for
adults and children under 10,GREY has created two different messages.
Using an outdoor lenticular we show adults an awareness message, while
children see a message where we offer them our help and show them the
telephone number. A message only for children

By Colbert King
East Germany's Ministry for State Security, also known as the Stasi, posed a major challenge during my three-year stint as an attache at the U.S. Embassy in Bonn during the 1960s. Detecting and preventing Stasi agents from penetrating the security of U.S. diplomatic facilities in West Germany was a 24-7 undertaking.

The East German secret police were even more ruthless and relentless in operations against their own citizens. Political suppression in that communist state was total. There was no room for dissent. Thousands of East Germans were arbitrarily imprisoned for "internal security" reasons.

So it was especially galling to learn upon returning to the states in 1969 that the FBI had a counterintelligence program, known as COINTELPRO, that was, in some ways, as pernicious as the threat we were working against overseas.

Senate hearings in the 1970s revealed that the FBI, under the guise of protecting national security, had treated rights guaranteed by the First Amendment as little more than a collection of antiquated wishes best ignored.

With its surveillance of citizens, infiltration of civil rights groups and disruption of legal activities, the FBI's counterintelligence program echoed the behavior of East Germany's Stasi. The FBIacknowledges on its Web site that "COINTELPRO was later rightfully criticized by Congress and the American people for abridging first amendment rights and for other reasons."

Fortunately, Congress reined in the FBI, placing it behind, and not beyond, the Constitution.

Where are we now?

The revelations that the Justice Department had secretly seized journalists' phone records and that the Internal Revenue Service had targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status show that government's heavy hand has not been lifted. Are these examples of COINTELPRO revisited?

Not quite, though they are disturbing.

Governments spend millions to prevent secrets from falling into enemy hands. A Justice Department probe into a compromised Middle East intelligence operation last year was not focused on the surreptitious work of a foreign power. The unlawful disclosure came from within.

The Justice Department sought to discover who in the U.S. government allegedly told the Associated Press about a failed al-Qaeda plot in Yemen.

The compromised Yemeni operation differs from some breakdowns in national security for its cause. Chalk up that serious breach to hubris: the leaker's puerile chest-thumping about having bested a sworn enemy or, worse, a self-serving desire to burnish the Obama administration's credentials as an al-Qaeda slayer.

In this regard, the administration has only itself to blame.

On top of the mistakes made by a U.S. official leaking the nation's secrets, the administration compounded things by launching a dragnet for the records of callsreceived and made from 20 phone lines (including office, home and cell numbers) of the AP journalists in five area codes and three states.

Talk about power running amok.

Meanwhile, back in the bureaucracy, Internal Revenue Service workers were having a high old time putting conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status through hoops. IRS employees were instructed to be on the "lookout" for groups with "tea party" and "patriot" in their names, according to the report of the Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration.

The acting IRS commissioner has already been forced to walk the plank, and more heads may roll. The IRS has a steep hill to climb to gain the public's trust. But there is one bright spot: This misbehavior was detected and exposed by government self-policing. Of course, the selective screening never should have occurred. But the inspector general system created to ferret out government fraud, waste and abuse worked in this case.

The Justice Department, meanwhile, is in an even deeper hole.

Who can take seriously the department's mission, as stated by its Office of Privacy and Civil Liberties, "to protect the privacy and civil liberties of the American people"?

Famed First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams told the Daily Beast this week that the Justice Department's broad seizure of journalists' phone records was "certainly one of the most intense intrusions by the government into a pressroom that I can remember."

"Why couldn't they put this issue before a judge?" Abrams asked. "What they have done is foreclose any meaningful response by the AP. This isn't just seeking a record of one journalist for one day. This is breaking and entering into the heart of the journalistic process of the Associated Press."

Media outlets covering D.C. affairs should also be concerned. Journalists who draw on confidential sources while aggressively covering the city's corruption scandal may now wonder if U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen is going after their phone records. After all, it was Machen's office that served the subpoenas in the AP case.

COINTELPRO? No. Unchecked government power? Yes.

Well, this can't be good.

It appears that the official who oversaw the Internal Revenue Service office responsible for
targeting conservative groups has moved on from that post and now heads the agency's Obamacare division.

The Internal Revenue Service official in charge of the tax-exempt organizations at the time when the unit targeted tea party groups now runs the IRS office responsible for the
health care legislation.

Sarah Hall Ingram served as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012. But Ingram has since left that part of the IRS and is now the director of the IRS' Affordable Care Act office, the IRS confirmed to ABC News today.

Her successor, Joseph Grant, is taking the fall for misdeeds at the scandal-plagued unit between 2010 and 2012. During at least part of that time, Grant served as deputy commissioner of the tax-exempt unit.

Grant said Thursday he would resign as commissioner of the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division on June 3, TheBlaze reported. He was appointed to the post just eight days ago.

Here's a May 8 press release announcing his extremely short-lived promotion:
Grant,
Kay Named to IRS Leadership Posts

IR-2013-47, May
8, 2013WASHINGTON - The Internal Revenue Service today announced the selection of Joseph H. Grantas commissioner of the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division and Sheldon Kay as Chief of Appea ls. "Joseph and Shelly are strong leaders who will provide strong leadership and continuity in thesecritical parts of the IRS," said Steven T. Miller,
Acting IRS Commissioner.Grant has served as the TE/GE Deputy Director since 2007. As TE/GE Commissioner, Grant willoversee the administ ration of tax law rela ting to employee plans, tax-exempt orga nizations and various government entities. TE/GE serves approximately 3 million organizations.Grant originally joined the IRS in August 2005 as director of the Employee Plans Rulings &amp; Agreements division. Before that, he was Chief Operating Officer and a Deputy Executive Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). Grant also served on the staff of the Oversightand Social Security subcommittees of the House Ways and Means Committee. In Appeals, Kay will serve as the Chief after serving as the Deputy Chief of Appeals since his returnto the IRS in May 2011.Kay was formerly a member of the Sutherland's Tax Practice Group, focusing on tax controversyissues, including IRS procedures, dispute resolutions and tax litigation matters. He also served asthe IRS District Counsel for the Georgia District
where he was the primary legal representative for theDistrict Director, the Director of the Atlanta Service Center, and the Chiefs of Appeals, Collection,Criminal Investigation and Examination Divisions. The mission of the IRS Appeals organization is to
resolve tax controversies, without litigation, on abasis which is fair and impartial to both the government and the taxpayer. Appeals handles andresolves more than 100,000 taxpayer cases a year

The real Benghazi story

 May 16, 2013
 "Information
 Clearing House " -" Asian
 Tribune"- There
is a 'side story' going on in the American media - both the
electronic and print about the Islamist jihadists lethal attack
on the American 'post' in Benghazi, Libya last September 11
which killed American ambassador Christopher Steven and three
others; The emphasis and the debate is on why the event was
twisted by the Obama administration to conceal a terrorist
attack on eve of the presidential election.

With the killing of Osama bin Larden on May 2 last year the
administration, which was approaching the re-election of Mr.
Obama in November, wants to convince the American people that
the al Qaeda was now annihilated for good.
 When the
Islamist jihadist group affiliated to al Qaeda lethally attacked
the American 'post' in Benghazi the Obama administration twisted
the events to convince that a anti-Islamic video produced by
someone in California was the cause of the attack.
 These days
the highlights and debate is about why the 'talking points' were
changed twelve times to give that different picture.
 As Obama
rightfully said a couple of days ago about this debate, mostly
spearheaded by the Republicans, was a 'side show.'
 The 'real
show' is in fact buried. And the 'real show' is that the United
States, Ambassador Steven playing a major role, was in the
process of shipping arms to Syrian rebels to topple Basher
 el-Assad's regime.
 It was on
October 25 last year that FoxNews.com broke the story that a
mysterious Libyan ship was reportedly carrying weapons and bound
for Syrian rebels would have had some link to the September 11
terror attack on the U.S. 'post' in Benghazi.
 Why do we
use the term 'post' in this report? Because when changes were
made to the Benghazi attack story by the Obama administration it
changed from 'American Consulate' to 'American Post'. The
reason: Benghazi operation was entirely a CIA operation.

 Through
shipping records, Fox News has confirmed that the Libyan-flagged
vessel Al Entisar, which means "The Victory," was received in
the Turkish port of Iskenderun -- 35 miles from the Syrian
border -- on Sept. 6, just five days before Ambassador Chris
Stevens and three other American officers were killed during an
extended assault by more than 100 Islamist militants.

 On the
night of Sept. 11, in what would become his last known public
meeting, Stevens met with the Turkish Consul General Ali Sait
Akin, and escorted him out of the 'posts' front gate one hour
 before the assault began.
 Although
what was discussed at the meeting is not public, a source told
Fox News that Stevens was in Benghazi to negotiate a weapons
transfer, an effort to get SA-7 missiles out of the hands of
Libya-based extremists. And although the negotiation said to
have taken place may have had nothing to do with the attack on
the consulate later that night or the Libyan mystery ship, it
could explain why Stevens was travelling in such a volatile
region on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
 When asked
to comment, a State Department spokeswoman dismissed the idea,
saying Stevens was there for diplomatic meetings, and to attend
the opening of a cultural center.
 According
to an initial Sept. 14 report by the Times of London, Al Entisar
was carrying 400 tons of cargo. Some of it was humanitarian, but
also reportedly weapons, described by the report as the largest
consignment of weapons headed for Syria's rebels on the
 frontlines.
 The cargo
 reportedly included surface-to-air anti-aircraft missiles, RPG's
and Russian-designed shoulder-launched missiles known as
 MANPADS.
 In March
2011 Stevens became the official U.S. liaison to the
al-Qaeda-linked Libyan opposition, working directly with
Abdelhakim Belhadj of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group-a group
that has now disbanded, with some fighters reportedly
participating in the attack that took Stevens' life.
 In
November 2011 The Telegraph reported that Belhadj, acting as
head of the Tripoli Military Council, "met with Free Syrian Army
leaders in Istanbul and on the border with Turkey" in an
effort by the new Libyan government to provide money and weapons
to the growing insurgency in Syria.
 The
Internet Media reported at that time that Ambassador Stevens had
only one person-Belhadj-between himself and the Benghazi man who
 brought heavy weapons to Syria.
 The
Asian Tribune has also found that the Internet Media further
reported that if the new Libyan government was sending seasoned
Islamic fighters and 400 tons of heavy weapons to Syria through
a port in southern Turkey-a deal brokered by Stevens' primary
Libyan contact during the Libyan revolution-then the governments
of Turkey and the U.S. surely knew about it.

Furthermore there was a CIA post in Benghazi, located 1.2 miles
from the U.S. consulate, used as "a base for, among other
things, collecting information on the proliferation of weaponry
looted from Libyan government arsenals, including surface-to-air
missiles" ... and that its security features "were more advanced
than those at rented villa where Stevens died."
 As noted
earlier, the Obama administration has since described the
American facility in Benghazi not as a 'Consulate' but as a
 'Post'.
 The U.S.
Republican Senator Rand Paul, who is expected to run for his
party presidential nomination in the year 2016, was the only
American lawmaker who disclosed about this 'arms deal' which he
connects to Ambassador Steven's brutal muder in the hands of the
 Islamist Jihadists.
 In an
interview aired on CNN May 9 evening, Sen. Paul said he hasn't
ruled out the possibility that last year's attack unfolded as a
result of a secret arms trade. The confusion in the immediate
aftermath of the event - including unfounded admissions from
America's United Nations envoy Susan Rice that contradicted what
is known today about the attack - could actually be a cover-up,
 the senator said.
 The Obama
administration sent its ambassador to UN Susan Rice on the
following Sunday talk shows to say that the offending Islamic
video was the cause of the attack in Benghazi.
 "I've
actually always suspected that, although I have no evidence,
that maybe we were facilitating arms leaving Libya going through
 Turkey into Syria," he said.
 "Were they
trying to obscure that there was an arms operation going on at
the CIA annex?" Paul asked. "I'm not sure exactly what was going
on, but I think questions ought to be asked and answered, and
I'm a little curious when employees of the State Department are
told by government officials they shouldn't testify - before the
Senate or House committees - and then they are sort of
sequestered and kept away from testimony, so I think there may
 be more to this."
 This is
not the first time either that Senator Paul raised questions
about possible arms supplies under the CIA umbrella. During her
testimony in the Senate in January, Rand Paul asked
then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton whether the spy agency
was sending weapons from Benghazi into other countries. Clinton
replied that he would have to ask CIA officials about it.

 Sen. Rand
Paul said on Aaron Klein Radio in mid April: "First of all with
regard to Benghazi, I think it's important because it may have
something to do with why the compound was attacked. If we were
involved with shipping guns to Turkey, there was a report that a
ship left from Libya towards Turkey and that there were arms on
it in the week preceding this ; there were reports that
our ambassador was meeting with the Turkish attach'e, so I think
with regards to figuring out what happened at Benghazi, it's
very important to know whether or not the CIA annex had anything
to do with facilitating guns being sent to Turkey and ultimately
to Syria. With regard to arming the rebels, just this week in
the armed services committee, General Dempsey, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said that we were no longer able to
distinguish who the good guys were from the bad guys and that
sounds pretty worrisome if we are actually arming people who in
the end may be enemies of America...enemies of Israel... enemies
maybe of the Christians who live within Syria...sending arms to
a rebel force to that may include Al-Nusra and other radical
 jihadists."
 In the
eighties, the Iran-Contra Arms Affair shook the Regan
administration the way the Benghazi affair is developing to
shake the foundation of the Obama administration.

 Iran-contra affair, in U.S. history,
secret arrangement in the 1980s to provide funds to the
Nicaraguan contra rebels from profits gained by selling arms to
Iran. The Iran-contra affair was the product of two separate
initiatives during the administration of President Ronald
Reagan. The first was a commitment to aid the contras who were
conducting a guerrilla war against the leftist Sandinista
government of Nicaragua. The second was to placate "moderates"
within the Iranian government in order to secure the release of
American hostages held by pro-Iranian groups in Lebanon and to
influence Iranian foreign policy in a pro-Western direction.

 Despite
the strong opposition of the Reagan administration, the
 Democratic-controlled Congress enacted legislation that
prohibited the Defense Dept., the Central Intelligence Agency
(CIA), or any other government agency from providing military
aid to the contras from Dec., 1983, to Sept., 1985. The Reagan
administration circumvented these limitations by using the
National Security Council (NSC), which was not explicitly
covered by the law, to supervise covert military aid to the
contras. Under Robert McFarlane (1983-85) and John Poindexter
(1985-86) the NSC raised private and foreign funds for the
contras. This operation was directed by NSC staffer Marine Lt.
Col. Oliver North. McFarlane and North were also the central
figures in the plan to secretly ship arms to Iran despite a U.S.
 trade and arms embargo.
 In early
Nov., 1986, the scandal broke when reports in Lebanese
newspapers forced the Reagan administration to disclose the arms
deals. Poindexter resigned before the end of the month; North
was fired. Select congressional committees held joint hearings,
and in Dec., 1986, Lawrence E. Walsh was named as special
prosecutor to investigate the affair. Higher administration
officials, particularly Reagan, Vice President Bush, and William
 J. Casey (former director of the CIA, who died in May, 1987),
were implicated in some testimony, but the extent of their
involvement remained unclear. North said he believed Reagan was
largely aware of the secret arrangement, and the independent
prosecutor's report (1994) said that Reagan and Bush had some
knowledge of the affair or its cover-up. Reagan and Bush both
claimed to have been uninformed about the details of the affair,
and no evidence was found to link them to any crime. A
presidential commission was critical of the NSC, while
congressional hearings uncovered a web of official deception,
 mismanagement, and illegality.
 A number
of criminal convictions resulted, including those of McFarlane,
North, and Poindexter, but North's and Poindexter's were vacated
on appeal because of immunity agreements with the Senate
concerning their testimony. Former State Dept. and CIA officials
pleaded guilty in 1991 to withholding information about the
contra aid from Congress, and Caspar Weinberger, defense
secretary under Reagan, was charged (1992) with the same
offense. In 1992 then-president Bush pardoned Weinberger and
other officials who had been indicted or convicted for
withholding information on or obstructing investigation of the
 affair.
 Will the
 Benghazi Affair leads that far?

Turkish Female Journalist Receives Death Threats for Removing Hijab

According to Hijab, Burka and Niqab apologists, wearing one is purely a matter of choice for a woman. Except the only place that it's really a matter of choice is in a non-Muslim country.

Rabia Kazan, a Turkish female journalist and author of a book about prostitution in Iran, describes the stifling experience of being forced to cover up and the threats that came after she chose freedom.

Arguing that there is no verse for wearing headscarves in the Quran, Kazan has faced heavy criticism also in her country due to her thoughts. Her own father attacked her house with stones.

"I FELT FREEDOM WHEN I TOOK OFF MY HEADSCARF"

"During the first years of wearing a headscarf, I used to feel like my head was stuck up inside a nylon bag, and I heard humming. I had those fearful moments when the needles came loose, wondering if the needle would prick my throat. So I would at times take off the headscarf secretly when my mother was not watching. But one day when I got caught by my mother she subjected me to an unforgettably painful beating.

30 years later, when I decided to uncover my head, another battle started. It was very difficult. Radical Islamists got very furious when a covered and well-known writer decided to uncover her head. I heard harsh insults and received death threats.

When I came to America, first of all I started to swim to my heart's content... It was such regret for me not to have done it for so long that I didn't want to get out of the swimming pool before I swam for two hours every night...

I suffered from vitamin D deficiency since my skin didn't get enough sunlight by then and this normally causes serious illnesses, weakness and mental fatigue. I sunbathed a lot. Then I tied my hair in a pony-tail and played tennis under the blue sky with my white tennis clothes on. I cannot tell you how good it felt. Then I fulfilled my dream of growing nails and putting on red nail polish, which was a personal remembrance to me. I had met a woman in my trip to Iran who was forced to put her hands into a bag full of insects just because she had put on red nail polish... Whenever I put on red nail polish, I still remember that woman with sadness...

Now I am free and believe that God has no problem with the hair on my head, He will not burn me in his Hell for this reason, He holds us with much more mercy and kindness than we think, and that being "a good person" is much more important than wearing a dark veil.

Mainstream Media Runs Spin on the Muslim Rape Gangs

The recent report about yet another grotesque Muslim child rape gang in Britain has provoked a flurry of pro-Muslim spin from the British media establishment. It emerged during this scandal that some of the girls involved had made complaints to the police about what was being done to them (being gang-raped, sexually tortured and coerced into prostitution) and the police did nothing. Social workers also knew what was going on and did nothing. The police and social workers have since apologised for failing to take action. But there's another group that should be hanging their heads in shame today: journalists.

The Muslim rape gangs were known about in the affected areas long before the story broke in the national press. It was headline news in local papers in places like Yorkshire. Indeed, some of the newspapers were running campaigns demanding that police prosecute these crimes! It is standard practice for the major news outlets in London to scan the regional newspapers to see if there are any stories worth picking up. So they must have known about these goings-on, and chosen not to report them, for about a decade before the story finally surfaced after it could no longer be repressed. Britain's journalists, social workers and police should be in the dock alongside the Muslim rapists. But they won't be.

And now that their favourite perpetrators have been exposed and convicted, they are running spin to protect them.

The Telegraph, in a blog post that shamefully has had the comments turned off (seems to be standard practice on the Telegraph with any post related to Muslims/the EDL/Jews these days), contrives to blame Nick Griffin for the cover-up. Nick Griffin (leader of the British National Party) was one of the very few public figures who spoke about this problem long before it was publicly acknowledged. Admittedly, he did it only behind closed doors, no doubt to avoid prosecution. But he was secretly filmed by the BBC and prosecuted anyway for incitement to racial hatred. He only got off because Muslims aren't a race. Then shortly afterwards the government extended the incitement laws to cover religion too.

But now this pitiful coward in the Telegraph blames Nick Griffin for having issued a warning about the rape gang problem all those years before.
--
There's one more figure who played an important role in this saga. As long ago as 2001, Nick Griffin, the leader of the BNP, was making claims about Asian grooming gangs. In 2004 he repeated these allegations in a speech clandestinely recorded by the BBC for a TV documentary, Secret Agent. He was arrested and charged with inciting racial hatred.

Which is exactly what he was doing, of course. He was making his allegations to stir up ethnic strife. Right-thinking people, aware of the BNP's record as liars, presumed that these stories were just racist demagoguery. No doubt Griffin feels vindicated today. He has no right to: thanks in part to his thuggish intervention, the scandals were ignored - and the abuse continued.

Now that it can longer cover up the truth about its favourite minority, the Guardian moves quickly to do some spin for them. "Is child grooming and sexual abuse a race issue?" it says, sounding brave. Of course its answer to that question is no. It begins by acknowledging that both negroes and Asians are grossly represented in the statistics compared to their share of the population.
--
A 2011 study by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre looked at the 2,379 potential offenders caught grooming girls since 2008. Of 940 suspects whose race could be identified, 26% were Asian, 38% were white and 32% were recorded as unknown. Asians are roughly 7% of the population.

A report for the children's commissioner in 2012 found there were 1,514 perpetrators. Of these, 545 were white, 415 were Asian and 244 were black. The ethnicity of 21% of perpetrators was not recorded. Attempts to analyse the Asian figure further runs into problems. Just 35 of the 415 Asians are recorded as having Pakistani heritage and thus highly likely to be Muslim, and only five are recorded as being from a Bangladeshi background. The heritage of 366 of the Asian group is not stated in those figures.
--
But it concludes that "Asians" are over-represented because of their occupational profile.
--
"However, the view in different parts of law enforcement is that it is wrong to take these figures and cases and say the race or religion of the perpetrator leads to them committing these crimes.

A more credible link, says one senior source involved in bringing the criminals to justice, are their occupations. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said the demography of certain areas and the makeup of the night-time economy explained the over-representation of Asian offenders.

The source said: "Young vulnerable girls migrate to the night-time economy, where they come across taxi drivers and people working in takeaways, who are more likely to be Asian. It is better to focus on the professions of offenders, not their race or religion."
--
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/may/14/child-grooming-sexual-abuse-race

It also cites the abuse of an "Asian" girl by one of the gangs as proof that it is not a race issue. Of course, they are actually correct. It's not a race issue. It's a religion issue. Islam is a religion that specifically sanctions the sexual enslavement of non-Muslim females and its supposed founder, the so-called prophet Mohammed, is described in the standard Muslim texts as having kept slaves, including sexual slaves.

Since Muslim morality is defined by the reported actions of this so-called "Perfect Man", it should hardly be surprising that his followers today have an above-average tendency to engage in these activities. But that is a possibility that the establishment media dare not even hint at. Even they put on their fake bravado and broach the race issue, the religion issue is never mentioned. I would hazard a guess that the "Asian" victim mentioned was Sikh or Hindu, rather than Muslim, but that's information that I don't think we'll be getting from the establishment media any time soon.

How absurd is it to say that there are people who have an ethical code that sanctions sexual enslavement of outgroup members and then they in fact engage in the sexual enslavement of outgroup members, but somehow the two facts are completely unrelated? If Nazis had an ideology that sanctioned the killing of Jews, then went around actually killing Jews, somehow I don't think we'd be hearing any spiel about "a tiny minority" of Nazis and their ideology magically being disconnected from their actions.
