It happened on 19th Street near Avenue E in San Leon. An official with the Sheriff's Office says deputy Marina Gonzalez responded to the call and found the man walking down the street. When she got out of her cruiser and approached him, the man reportedly lunged at her with the scissors. It was not sure if the weapon was scissors or a cork screw or similar item. The man, identified only as white or Hispanice, was shot one time by the deputy and was taken by air ambulance to a hospital. Galveston County District Attorney Jack Roady requested and received assistance in the investigation from the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office.
