I argued that when the top six anti-US-empire leaders in Latin America all get cancer at the same time, it isn't just coincidence. The US government, and its bankster owners, have been overthrowing and/or murdering the best leaders in Latin America, and the world, for decades. Iran's Mossadegh, Guatemala's Arbenz, the Dominican Republic's Trujillo and Bosch, Ecuador's Velasco and Roldos, Zaire's Lumumba, Indonesia's Sukarno, Cambodia's Sahounek, Chile's Allende, and Panama's Torrijos are just a few examples. The same killers, and the institutional forces they represent, murder the best American leaders too. John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Senator Paul Wellstone are notable victims. Two excellent books have appeared in recent years proving, to any reasonable reader, that a shadow government working through the CIA, FBI, and organized crime killed JFK and Dr. King. Those books are JFK and the Unspeakable by James Douglass, and An Act of State by William Pepper. When the most powerful empire on earth insists on resolving disputes through murder, rather than reasoned dialogue, that empire has become a cancer on the world. The US government's "kill first, ask questions later" policy is exemplified by its drone attacks on political opponents. Senator Lindsey Graham recently admitted that the US has murdered more than 4,700 political opponents around the world in drone strikes. One of them, Anwar al-Awlaki - a US citizen whose criticisms of the US government were factually correct and morally justified - was silenced not by counter-arguments (apparently there are none) but by a drone strike on his house. His teenage son was also murdered. Mr. al-Awlaki had not even been accused of any crime, much less charged or convicted. He was killed for one reason and one reason only: To silence his eloquent voice. The Empire's preference for killing over dialogue is obvious to anyone who compares the current US military budget to those of other countries. The US spends $711 billion per year on organized mass killing (i.e., the military). The combined total for China, Russia, the UK, France, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Brazil, Italy, South Korea, Australia, and Canada is only $695 billion annually. And the official US military budget of $711 billion is just the tip of the iceberg. A gigantic "black budget" funded by bankers like the Rothschilds, whose net worth is said to be over $100 trillion, using leveraged criminal activity including the $1.5-trillion-per-year money laundering industry, pushes the real annual cost of empire into the trillions. It is these black budget funds, not official military budgets, that are used to build the most advanced and secret killing technologies - the kind of technologies that were recently employed to afflict the Empire's six leading Latin American enemies with cancer. This gargantuan outlay on the Empire's killing machine is a huge drain on the planet's resources. And it isn't just the US murder budgets, official and unofficial, that suck the life-blood of the planet. The US war budget forces other countries to hemorrhage their own money on death and destruction. Other nations would spend vastly less on defense if the US were not constantly threatening, bullying, and invading sovereign nations all over the world...while selling weapons to its puppet "friends" and slaughtering its more principled "enemies." Obviously, the American exceptionalists are correct. The United States of America is an exceptional country: It is exceptionally evil. But when they say America is the one indispensable country, they are wrong. That would be like saying that a cancerous tumor is the most indispensable part of the body. The US bankster empire needs to be surgically removed from the face of the planet. How did the USA, once a self-proclaimed light unto the world, become a festering tumor? Before 9/11, American policy had a certain balance: Alongside its psychopathic imperial behavior were occasional flashes of genuine concern for human rights, democracy, and other humanitarian ideals. One of the world's leading moral philosophers, John McMurtry of the University of Guelph, has brilliantly analyzed this process. In his essay "The Moral Decoding of 9-11" Professor McMurtry argues that the seeds of evil were planted long before 9/11 brought them to fruition. He describes the murderous "morality" of empire as follows: "The moral thought system (of the US-bankster empire) is not unlike that of Mein Kampf without the racist rant, camouflaged everywhere in practice by the method of big lies - 'noble lies' as Strauss exalts them. The innermost value driver is a perpetual war of dispossession of the weaker for the private transnational money-capital multiplication of the rich." John McMurtry sees 9/11 as the epitome of the Straussian neoconservative philosophy, which exalts bullying, murder, and the big lie, and scorns reasoned dialogue and cooperation. What McMurtry doesn't say is that the Straussian neoconservative takeover of the USA on 9/11 was a coup d''etat by Israel against America. The Israelis rely on lies and murder, and scorn reasoned dialogue, for a very good reason: The existence of the apartheid Zionists in Palestine cannot be successfully defended by reasoned argument. By contrast, America's core values - individual liberty, religious and ethnic pluralism, democratic republicanism, equality of opportunity, and the rule of law - can only be defended by reasoned dialogue. So far, researchers have used the antibody in mice with human breast, ovary, colon, bladder, brain, liver and prostate tumors transplanted into them. In each of the cases the antibody forced the mice's immune system to kill the cancer cells. "We showed that even after the tumor has taken hold, the antibody can either cure the tumor or slow its growth and prevent metastasis," said biologist Irving Weissman of the Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California. One side effect of the treatment was that healthy cells were subjected to short-term attacks by the mice's immune system, but the effect was nothing in comparison to the damage done to the cancer cells. I never met him, never saw him, never even heard of him. Strange. Same major, same career path, and graduated on the same day- where was he? Was he busy attending communist party meetings? No need to guess. In his autobiography he proudly admits attending Socialist Party meetings at Cooper Union in downtown Manhattan. He also admits publicly in his own book to not wanting to meet or befriend anyone at Columbia who wasn't black, Hispanic, gay, or a Marxist professor. His words- in print. So it's possible he was so busy attending communist meetings and trying to avoid guys like me (white, straight, a guy who loved America) that our paths never crossed. Unlikely, but possible. But, it's the second thing you really need to know about Obama at Columbia. He says he graduated Class of '83. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. I always have. Well then Obama had to attend the same Political Science classes as me. I can tell you, almost to a man, my classmates in the Class of '83 proudly called themselves Marxist, communist or socialist. They bragged of being "radical" like a badge of honor. They openly hated America- calling it racist. They hated capitalism- and vowed to bring "the system down." In my class the typical Columbia political science student vowed to destroy capitalism, bankrupt business owners, and vaporize what they called "the white power structure." For the most part these were spoiled brat white students of privilege and power. They were children of wealth, given everything on a silver platter and all they felt was anger and guilt. Their goal was to destroy their own fathers. They talked about it all day long. So let me tell you a story that says it all. Back in 1981 I was sitting in a political science class. The president at the time was Ronald Reagan, a man reviled by the left just as viciously as any Republican is today. Suddenly our lecture was interrupted by a door swinging open violently-whereupon a breathless fellow student raced into the room screaming, "The president has been shot! They've just assassinated President Reagan." Ronald Reagan was my hero. The news hit me like a ton of bricks. I instantly felt sick to my stomach, and tears flowed down my cheeks. But it was the response of the rest of the class that I will remember for the rest of my life. They cheered. They clapped, they yelled, they high-fived, and whooped in sheer unadulterated joy. My fellow classmates, the ones I was naively trying so hard to befriend despite their radical leftist views, were HAPPY that my hero President Ronald Reagan was dead (or so they thought). They were celebrating what they thought was the assassination of America's president. Incidently, if Obama actually went to Columbia, he'd almost certainly have to have been in that class leading the cheers. Feel like you need a shower yet? Lest you think I'm exaggerating, British leftists just celebrated and cheered upon hearing of the death of Margaret Thatcher only days ago. It was all over the news. Some Brits held parties celebrating her death. This is revolting and disgusting. But wait, the most frightening and eye-opening revelation is still to come. You see political science students at Columbia were taught a detailed plan designed by two former Columbia professors named Cloward and Piven to bring down "the system," destroy capitalism, and turn America into a socialist state. We discussed it in class, wrote about it, and debated it outside class. It was a hot topic of discussion around the halls of Columbia for four years. The plan was revolting, but brilliant. Cloward and Piven taught that America could only be destroyed from within. Only by overwhelming the system with debt, welfare, and entitlements could capitalism and the America economy be destroyed. So the plan was to make a majority of Americans dependent on welfare, food stamps, disability, unemployment, and entitlements of all kinds. Then, under the weight of the debt, the system would implode and the economy collapse, bankrupting business owners (i.e. conservative donors). Americans would be brought to their knees, begging for big government to save them. Voila - you'd have a new system. A system based on fairness, equality and social justice. It's called Socialism. Sound familiar? Lo and behold, one of my classmates was elected as president and it's clear as a bell that he is using that plan to destroy America, capitalism, and the U.S. economy right in front of our eyes. It's the exact plan hatched at Columbia University in our college days. Exact in every way. Under Obama, 660,000 Americans dropped off the job rolls... just last month . 90 million working-age, able-bodied Americans are no longer in the workforce. 90 million. The workforce participation rate is the lowest since 1979. For men it's the lowest since 1948 (when record keeping began). New economic numbers were out last Friday. Retail sales contracted. Business inventories were disappointing. Consumer confidence collapsed- the worst miss in the history of the U.S. economy. This economy isn't getting better, it's getting worse by the day. Obama isn't "saving" us, he's destroying us with every move he makes. Almost 50 million Americans are on food stamps (20% of all eligible adults). Fourteen million are on disability. Millions more are on welfare, unemployment, housing allowances, aid to dependent children, or 100 other free government programs. Now, add in free healthcare plus 22 million government employees. Record-setting numbers of Americans are emptying their retirement accounts to survive. Student loan debt is a national disaster- with defaults up 36% from a year ago. Over 16 million Americans live in poverty... in the suburbs. Every day under Obama the private sector shrinks, while the government grows like a toxic malignant tumor. Obama promised to cut the deficit in half; instead he gave us five consecutive trillion dollar deficits. He promised to spend responsibly; instead now owns the title of biggest spender in world history. He called Bush's $4 trillion in debt over 8 years reckless, then proceeded to pile on $6 trillion in only 4 years. He swore to be on the side of small business, but he added 6,118 new rules, regulations and mandates in just the last 90 days . He claimed taxes are low, yet he just raised taxes to the same level as bankrupt EU countries like Greece, Spain, Italy and France. Our federal income taxes are now far higher than former Soviet Republics. Now I ask you- Does this sound like a man trying to "save" us? Folks, this is Cloward and Piven. This is Karl Marx, who despised the middle class and vowed to wipe it out. This is Saul Alinsky,who dedicated his book (Obama's favorite book) to Lucifer, the devil. This is no accident, or the work of an economically inept liberal. This is a purposeful plan to drown the nation in debt and hook a majority to government handouts, happening in front of our eyes. Sandra Layne, shackled in orange jail garb and surrounded by deputies, was sentenced Thursday in Oakland County Circuit Court here. It brings to a close a case that garnered national attention and tore apart a family already teetering on the edge. In handing down the sentence, Judge Denise Langford Morris called it a tragic case. She said a lot of unanswered questions remain, but what troubled her was why Layne didn't call police first that day or leave and why she kept shooting 17-year-old Jonathan Hoffman. Layne, who had no prior criminal record, was convicted March 19 of second-degree murder in the case. Layne quietly told the court Thursday that she loved her grandson. She talked of how Hoffman changed when he started using drugs and said his parents wouldn't come help her despite her pleas. "If I could go back," she said of that day, breaking down. "I'm so sorry. I don't know what to say." Layne said she feels pain every day for what happened. "I love Jon," she said. "I love him to this very moment." Layne's daughter and Jonathan Hoffman's mother, Jennifer Hoffman, spoke minutes earlier about the special bond she had with her son and asked the court for a harsh sentence. Breaking down at times, Jennifer Hoffman talked of the milestones in her son's life that she will never see, such as high school graduation and him having his own children. She said she now must mark his birthdays at his grave. She also noted the terror her son must have felt as he was dying, killed by a person he had loved. A prosecutor read a statement from Jonathan's father, Michael Hoffman. The father said in the statement that his family is profoundly hurt, and he talked of listening to a horrific 911 recording in which Layne shot his son again. "He was a gentle and loving soul," Michael Hoffman said, also asking for harsh punishment. "I miss my son every day." Layne shot Hoffman six times during the course of several minutes on the afternoon of May 18, tracking him upstairs and downstairs in her upscale condominium. Hoffman had been living with Layne and her 87-year-old husband, Fred, since August 2011 because his divorced parents had moved to Arizona. Fred Layne was in court Thursday for the sentencing, surrounded by supporters, and appeared to break down as his wife spoke. Layne's defense lawyer, Jerome Sabbota, argued that Layne acted in self-defense that day after Hoffman attacked her. He told the court Layne doesn't deserve to be in prison for the rest of her life. Hoffman was living with his grandparents because he wanted to finish his last year of high school in Michigan. His younger sister, Jessica, was undergoing treatment in Arizona for a brain tumor. Trouble started by early 2012 when Hoffman began using drugs. He was hospitalized in March after ingesting hallucinogenic mushrooms. Police searched his car at the time and discovered more drugs, records show. He was charged with drug possession in that case and another in early April after police found more drugs in is car. According to testimony during Layne's two-week trial, Hoffman was growing more violent in the months leading up to his death, smashing computer screens and kicking in doors. Weeks before he was killed, Layne called 911 to report that her grandson was out of control. Police arrived to calm the situation. On April 18, 2012, Layne sought a permit to carry a handgun, and bought a 9 mm Glock on April 27. On the morning of May 18, Hoffman underwent a court-ordered drug screening and tested positive for Spice, a synthetic marijuana. He then yelled at his grandmother that he refused to go to jail over the drug charge. During the trial prosecutors presented a 911 call Hoffman made, telling the operator that his grandmother had shot him. Record-setting numbers of Americans are emptying their retirement accounts to survive. Student loan debt is a national disaster- with defaults up 36% from a year ago. 16.4 million Americans live in poverty...in the suburbs. Every day under Obama the private sector shrinks, while the government grows like a toxic malignant tumor. Obama promised to cut the deficit in half; instead he gave us five consecutive trillion dollar deficits. He promised to spend responsibly; instead he became the biggest spender in world history. He swore to be on the side of small business, but he added 6,118 new rules, regulations and mandates in just the last 90 days. While they publicly state that their mission is to save the world from prejudice, patriotism, racism, greed, and inequality, they are, in fact, hostile and resentful towards anyone who has achieved self-made success through American values. They hated capitalism- and vowed to bring "the system down." (Fast-forward thirty years, and they may finally be close to succeeding - if we don't act soon - but more on that in a minute.) Iron Dome battery deployed in Eilat ---------- Palestinians are rioting in Hebron ahead of the funerals of three Palestinians who died this week. Dozens began to hurl stones at IDF soldiers and set tires on fire in Hebron ahead of the funeral of Maisara Abu Hamdiyeh, the Palestinian prisoner who died of cancer earlier this week. The IDF is expecting the riots to continue throughout the day. Abu Hamdiyeh, 64, was a Hamas member who recruited the terrorist who planned to carry out an attack on a Jerusalem coffee shop in 2002. That same year, he was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of attempted murder, membership in a terror organization and possession of weapons. Following his death, Palestinian prisoners began to riot in a number of Israeli prisons, including Ramon, Ketziot, Eshel and Nafha. An autopsy revealed that he suffered from a malignant tumor in the vocal chords with metastasis in the lungs, neck, chest, liver, spine and ribs. This however did not serve to ease tensions and Israeli authorities were criticized for their handling of his case. Two Palestinians ages 17 and 18 were killed Wednesday by IDF fire and another was wounded near the Einav settlement in the West Bank. The IDF said the two hurled Molotov cocktails at an IDF post prompting soldiers from the haredi Netzah Yehuda Battalion to fire back. The circumstances behind the incident are being investigated. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated that several Palestinians approached an IDF post near the Einav settlement in the West Bank and lobbed Molotov cocktails at it. The soldiers returned fire and killed two of the assailants. According to the rules of engagement, a shoot-to-kill order can only be issued if the attackers were identified beyond a doubt. The IDF will examine how the Palestinians managed to come so close to the post and whether the soldiers could have controlled the incident without opening fire. Meanwhile, a Color Red alert sounded in the Eshkol Regional Council at around 2 am on Thursday after a mortar shell was fired from the Gaza Strip. No injuries or damage were reported. The quiet in the south was also broken this week. Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired two Qassam rockets toward the western Negev Wednesday morning, as Israeli children in Sderot and Sha'ar Hanegev were making their way to schools and kindergartens after the Passover holiday. No injuries or damage were reported. On Tuesday, three mortars were fired from Gaza toward Israel. One shell landed in the Eshkol Regional Council, without causing injury or damage. The Israeli Air Force responded later that night by striking two terror targets in the Hamasruled territory. There were no reports of injury or damage. A fifth Iron Dome battery was deployed in Eilat in the backdrop of renewed rocket fire.
