no. but i already know what point you're making. i never defended religious fundamentalism. what people don't like is when i defend the religious moderates who make up the majority of the muslim religion -- the normal families across the world not involved in war and terrorism who don't deserve being characterized as terrorists and backwards thinkers

Las what did you make of the "5 rings"? Did you study the works of Sun Tzu alongside it or did you find it sufficiant education without the sabre rattling literature?
There is a common theme in the philosphical works you claim to have studied and it does not benefit your pacifistic demeanour.
For example Alexander the great also studied greek philosphy.
- "sabre rattling" literature? i've read a huge variety of books throughout my lifetime. the reason i liked Sun Tzu and the "art of war", at the time, was because people in general in my high school were always warring with each other -- every group had its own place on campus and people were always looking for weaknesses with each other. if you let one insult slide then 20 more came after it. and i didn't want to be stuck in any one group so i traveled to each group during lunch time. i got along with every group just fine but without losing my dignity -- by never bowing down to any of them. but i didn't need to study the "art of war" in order to survive the bullshit people were putting each other, and me, through (if that's what you're asking). it was just a good alternate explanation of what was going on and how to deal with enemies

Lasrever a lot of people in Britain 'claim' to have read Ninteen Eighty Four yet have never once glanced at it in print with thier own two eyes. That is a documented fact which has been revealed lately through an on the street servay.
None the less dont take my use of the word 'claim' as an insult, im quite sure anyone who has read those works you mentioned are the last to claim a connection or have a sence of ownership to the knowladge they contained. After all is said and done we are voyures, dwarves standing on the shoulders of giants here ;)
Disregarding that observation I do enjoy how you have taken upon yourself to shoulder the burden of being apeacemaker. That is a quality very few people want to be encumbered with, its nothing less than selfleness a true form of martyrdom that has long since been replaced with crucifix and tnt belt wearing fanatics.

i understand why you'd use the word "claim". i'd probably write the same thing to someone i didn't know very well online -- i have done the same. i truly think most people online are liars, manipulators, arrogant, selfish, psychotic, superficial, stupid -- i do. i don't think i'm better than the average person i just can't stand lowering myself to their standards on website forums -- they should appeal to who i really am, and appeal to my intelligence and emotions on a real level, because whenever they do i give them nothing but my respect. i treat other people well here if they're just decent towards me. but if they don't want to do that, and they're always going to be talking about how great they are (their great jobs, their great lives, how patriotic they are, how brave they are), if they're going to constantly spit on black people and arabs, or constantly spit on muslims and catholics, and if they're always going to be insulting to me for saying what i really think, they're like every other person online, anyway. **** all those people! lol. seriously, they'd have never gotten along with me in person with that attitude so it's not any different anyway
