Saddest Movie Scenes?...
I wanted to do 10, but there were several choices that I couldn't find
good clips for. When Hooch dies for example. And, Grave Of The
Fireflies.
Spoiler warning... The movies are:
1) The Never Ending Story
2) My Girl
3) Old Yeller
4) Armageddon
5) Million Dollar Baby
6) The Boy In The Striped Pajamas
7) Up
If you haven't seen any of these, you should.
My allergies are killing me...

The saddest one is in Dancing with Wolves when Kevin Costner's character comes back to the indians encampment to find all his friends dead because of his desertion and decision to live with indians.

I would throw in the final moments of "Requiem for a dream" which is one of the saddest movies I've ever watched. The selected scenes were pretty good other than the Armageddon... I just hated that movie for some reason. I had managed to repress the scene from Never Ending story until now.

@zombieman I agree. Requiem is missing. What about Empire of the Sun? Just that song makes my eyes itch like hell ;-)

@zombieman Requiem? Maybe it's been too long since I've seen it. Jennifer Connely is one of my favorites, but I just remember that movie being depressing as hell...

Old Yeller always gets me. Did you find the animal cracker scene between Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck in Armeggedon to be particularly touching as well? ;>
The final scene from The Elephant Man is the saddest to me.

@ST0N3PONY Holy shit, man. I hadn't seen that in forever. Cher couldn't have put on a greater performance. I saw Moonstruck a couple months ago on cable and was reminded then what a talented actress she was. Heartbreaking scene.

@SSSox88 I've never seen Moonstruck actually. I saw the clip of her slapping somebody (Nick Cage?), in a montage at some awards show or something. I always liked Cher, she was funny Stuck On You.
