Green Mountain Rangers - Airsoft Documentary

This is not mine, this was produced by both the Green Mountain Rangers and High Ready Clips.

I know some of you are living in countries in which airsoft is either illegal or severely regulated, and some of you may not know a single thing about airsoft, and others are either highly opinionated or could not give a damn less. Regardless, this is a fairly well done independent documentary featuring one of the most well known teams on the East coast of the United States.

The Green Mountain Rangers formed in 1999 primarily as a military re-enactment group and have continued to evolve from there. They are a fantastic group of people, I have had the pleasure of meeting them on several occasions. GMR is one of the hardest training airsoft groups in the United States and they excel on the field.

Several of their members are Land Rover enthusiasts, importing, obtaining, and restoring antique civilian and military Land Rovers from points around the world. This earns brownie points from me.

More information can be found here: http://gmrangers.com/

UL Quality is relatively low due to file size, I combined the 5 part documentary in 1 part so anyone who is actually interested in this didn't have to spend a whole evening tracking down all 5 parts.

  • Thats way fun, I used to do this a couple times a year in the dessert here in arizona. It was run by some retired rangers.

  • Seriously dude, these is just very similar to girls playing with their barbie dolls. If you want action enlist in the army in the first place.

    • @aleihs many of them are active/reserve or ex military. Some are people with medical/physical conditions that prevent them from joining.

    • @aleihs I really hate it when people say stuff like "if you want action enlist in the army..."

For all you know, a group with this much discipline could be mainly comprised of military veterans. I would think that they would love that sort of thing: having the same organized, fast-paced and realistic scenarios as in the military, but without the wounds, PTSD or chance of dying.

I enjoy the thought of airsoft, and have played in a real "battles" several times, and I will be More..

    • @NightCrawler Until you live a life in the military, it's best to not pretend to know what goes along with it. Discipline isn't putting on "tactical" gear you scored online and pretending to assault a village. Discipline is waking up everyday, putting on your uniform, and understanding you have taken an oath to defend your nation. I don't find shit like this fun, or entertaining, especially when I know exactly what happens when your squad actually gets ambushed. We don't "play&quo More..

    • @The_linguist Yes, I understand what "discipline" is. I never stated that they lived disciplined lives, such as that in the military; however, if you read their website you can find out about their training and ranking structure (making it far more complex and disciplined than other airsoft communities.)

You have seemed to take my original comment and used your wizardry powers to conclude that I am an airsoft fanatic that dresses up on a regular basis.

I said I have played airsoft; More..

  • so this is how grown ups play "guns"?

    Posted Aug-17-2012 By

    • @absu69 Its the same concept as paintball, except this is more tactical and realistic. Its very fun and all ages can do it. The guns are very powerful, some can break skin and we're talking a plastic ball, thats impressive, not to mention the craftsmanship of the high end equipment and the playing fields. Dont be such a downer.

    • @Adirondack13 well....like can't someone lie if they're hit and say they aren't and such?

      Posted Aug-17-2012 By

      (0)

    • @absu69 Yes they can, and it's a lot harder to pick out and identify cheaters. Regardless of the game, someone will always find a way to cheat, it's up to the referee's and player to keep their game clean.

  • two minutes in, dude anyone would rather watch five quality videos then one lone unwatchable one such as this, just put the next video's link in the description or something.

and really if you are this into the military and won't serve you are a pussy.

  • Airsoft was fun until all these role playing faggots ruined it.
Just look at them. 90% of their gear is completely unnecessary for airsoft.
A suppressor, on an airsoft gun, really man? What are the helmets for? In case you knock your head climbing into mums mini van at the end of the day?
If people want to play airsoft they should do it for the sake of playing airsoft, they shouldn't do it to pretend to be something they clearly aren't.

  • Used to play a lot of airsoft, never really got into the milsim stuff that gear is really expensive, more fun to chase your buddies around the woods while screaming with laughter.

    • @Martyr_Machine Most if not all of these guys are Retired, Reservist, or Guard. Then you have some who are ineligible for service.

I've never understood the amount of rage airsoft brings out in people. You seem to be pretty miffed, what's the deal?

    • @onionswithnos

I have been in alomst 14 years and I don't know anyone that plays airsoft. Note: I said "play" for a reason.

Don't wear my uniform if you are too scared to actually commit to the responsibilities.

We don't understand how you don't understand the rage.

A bunch of fat man-children losers acting like they are in the military... Yet you don't see how that would irritate actual military people?

      Are you serious?

      Posted Aug-19-2012 By

    • @Martyr_Machine What I don't understand is how someone can rage about airsofters wearing a military uniform, but find it perfectly acceptable to play Call of Duty, Battlefield, and the like, and have no issue with the ovie industry. Especially when the video games and movies do such a poor job of portraying the military, and features many US Soldiers going rogue.

What's the difference between sitting on your couch playing a game featuring a US Soldier or playing a game in which you yourself run More..

If gamers start thinking they know the deal, then yeah, I go after them too.

War re-enactors aren't pretending to be something they are not; their intent is to re-enact.

      A Halloween comparison? Really?

    • @Martyr_Machine What do you mean, know the deal?

Airsofters aren't pretending to be something they're not, their intent is to play a game.

I really don't see how you can target one group, and then pass over all other groups that are similar.

And yes, a Halloween comparison. I take it that you're okay with Halloween costumes. How can this be okay, when people will be dressed up as firefighters, cops, and soldiers, going out, getting tanked, commiting crimes, and getting into fights? That in a More..

Oh, what's that? You're cowardly, unkempt, out-of-shape bitchtit losers who played too much Cawadoody?

    God I hate airshitters.

    • @Apoc You're clearly the person that lacks a valid and formed opinion. Most of these people are veterans or reserve soldiers.

Saying they are too scared to join the military is inaccurate; wanting to reenact realistic "battle" scenarios on the weekends without going to boot camp (again), or taking a flight to Afghanistan sounds appealing to me.

As I told someone else below, I will be enlisting in the Marine Corps as an officer; so, when I have played airsoft, it is not because I am More..

    • @Apoc Some people do it to be cool, some people so it because they're too scared to join the military, some people do it because they can't join the military and they're living their dream vicariously, and some people just plain do it for fun. Live and let live. Some people might say we post on Liveleak because we're too trendy uber super cool for youtube, but whatever. No need for such angry words.

    • @Apoc I'm not "butthurt," I'm simply pointing out your flawed argument; you'd might as well be a democrat and 9/11 truther too.
