This is the terrifying moment a blind woman walks off a platform and into the path of an oncoming train.
CCTV cameras captured the near tragedy as Addie Norfleet failed to see the edge of the platform and plunged on to the tracks at subway station in Atlanta.
As she disappears from the screen the lights of a fast approaching train can be seen in the distance.
As other passengers run to the edge of the platform one man risks his life to jump down in an attempt to save the 57 year old woman.
Other commuters wave their arms in the air in an attempt to attract the attention of the driver.
Fortunately the train driver had spotted the incident and managed to brake in time.
Police said the subway train stopped four feet from where Norfleet lay stunned.
Norfleet, who is partially blind, was treated at hospital for minor injuries.
She told police she did not see the edge of the platform as she arrived at the station and continued walking.
The near tragedy happened at a MARTA subway station in Atlanta, Georgia, over two weeks ago but Atlanta police has just released CCTV film that captured the incident.
