I went to a city called Baguio (In the Philippines) and saw a truck crash at the side of the road. The city itself spreads over a few mountain peaks with some very sharp elevation changes. The roads are also quite steep with landslides being a regular occurrence. Anyway, back to the truck, it obviously lost its brakes, the driver clearly attempted to run up a side road but missed by a few meters unfortunately. I didn't see the actual accident myself, though I surmise there may have been cars or people in the area that he swerved to avoid.

I should also point out that trucks in the Philippines regularly have a driver along with one or several helpers - they NEVER wear seatbelts, not much imagination necessary to understand what happened to the occupants unfortunately :-(
