Early morning House Fire , Moncton

Moncton Firefighters on scene of a early morning house fire on John Street across from the N.B. Ambulance dispatch center. Fire was still burning through the roof of the structure around 8 A.M. on a very chilly morning. Firefighters were cutting holes in the roof in a couple of areas, and putting water in hot spots of the building. John Street is completely blocked off between Shirley & Dominion Streets. At one point Moncton was only being covered by 1 station as many fire trucks were tied up at this fire. Just before 9 A.M. Firefighters were doing a overhaul of the house to make sure all the fire was out. According to the Deputy Assistant Fire Chief, the fire which started in the attic is still under investigation. Extensive damage was cause to the two unit apartment where the first started shortly after 6 am this morning. Everyone was able to get out safely.
