Marijuana
is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Around 50,000 people die
each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths
each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. By comparison, marijuana is
nontoxic and cannot cause death by overdose. According to the
prestigious European medical journal, The Lancet, "The smoking of
cannabis, even long-term, is not harmful to health. ... It would be
reasonable to judge cannabis as less of a threat ... than alcohol or
tobacco."

  • The FDA is run by the pharmaceutical companies. They do not stand to make money on legalization. Therefore, the FDA uses its power to stop the natural drug.

And I will NEVER stand behind the SELLOUT argument that weed should be taxed! It should be FREE! Free as in, you can grow it yourself, and don't have to bother with governemnt bullshit to get a hold of it even if you don't grow it yourself, and, it should be free as in, you don't have to pay for it if you grow it yourself. No tax! Remember More..

  • While I don't smoke weed (sometimes I wish I could or would) I fully support legalizing it, conditionally. For responsible adults only and never in the presence of children. I would rather see it as 'grow your own' because then you know what additives are in there. As it is now with alcohol, no driving while impaired. I know there are other considerations, these are just a few of my running thoughts. I also don't like federal intervention in a state approval of medical use (California and p More..

  • I believe fully informed responsible adults over the age of 21 should have the freedom to consume any drug of their own choice and suffer the consequences if there are any, or enjoy the benefits of what they consume.

I can hold down a full time job and I smoke frequently.

    • @ZazzMazta Fuck that! Refuse weed taxation! It's not a matter of "it's better than nothing". I hate when people regurgitate that sellout argument. They only do it because they think maybe the government will be tempted. What they should be doing is to convince the government that it was WRONG to ban the plant in the first place, and to restore it to its former FREE status. They shouldn't try to assimilate it into the establishment's SYSTEM where it will be trapped forever. People ought More..

    • @wellybub I don't think it'll be legalized any time soon. City and state governments already make a ton of money off of fines. My possession charge was a $300 fine. After court costs and fees it was over $900. I wasn't in court for more than an hour. Felonies are supposed to go to the state court, but the city regulations let them classify marijuana charges as misdemeanors to keep the money in the city.

  • pretty true. Although I don't use it, I don't have a problem with those who do. Abuse of any mind altering substance can lead to problems. Marijuana makes you lazy in general if you smoke regularly.

    • @absu69 Most regular smokers would disagree, ignorantly I may add.
I've smoked marijuana for a good few years daily, and when I stopped I became very motivated. Literally felt like a kid leaving a secluded room that i had been locked in for 5 years.

Good medically and for recreational use, but as anything can stimulate your brain to the point of addiction, make sure it's productive.

I think they're better of dying of alcohol poisoning then living like that. THANK U.
