      Nope, the real power is control. If you lie/bribe/deal with enough fools, yeah you'll set the masses on the road to communism. Mostly embraced by those willing to take from others out of greed or jealousy because they lack the drive to do better in life. The end of that road always ends the same, a mountain of skulls.
