Canada Police State: Street Performers Beaten And Jailed By Canadian Police...
July 13, 2008 construction on Bathurst Street north of Bloor has slowed
traffic. Local group The New Kings played an impromptu set to entertain
the delayed motorists and locals.
Then the police arrived. And
stopped traffic. As asked The New Kings stopped playing. Then when lead
singer Michael Louis Johnson asked the cops to stop blocking traffic and
suggested that the cars honk to get the police to move, he was
handcuffed and taken away. Watch the video and see if you can tell why. I
can't.

well if a bunch of aholes who where warned several times throughout the week to not block construction work, I would assume the police would respond that way

Well it certainly looks like the band may have caused the traffic to slow a little as people passing by looked, but the cops stopping in the traffic lane definatly did the blocking of traffic--Cops pushed it too far--should have went around the block once or twice before getting all hard assed

That was neither art nor music. If they want to play that crappy shit, they can stay in their mom's basement. There are people that live across the street that probably called the cops on them.

How does it feel to be pissed-on by the cops?
Probably as much as you pissed-on the motorist.

They should have him play for his freedom. If he sucks, he spends a night in jail.

Probably the people across the street had complained about loud shitty music. The cops had every right to remove them.
