This video is part of an ongoing project to build a retrospective TV archive made for the LL community on my Retro TV channel at
Aired from 1989 to 1993, 5 seasons 96 episodes. Another classic Bellisario production. A little bit of sci-fi, some melodrama, dash of action, not a bad series altogether.
The long litany of famous guest stars makes the show interesting, not all of them actors and actresses. Maybe you liked one of the other shows that usually ran against Quantum Leap, like China Beach or Wiseguy. Can't say I could blame you, both are decent shows in their own right. Though by this time, 1989, you probably had a VCR and didn't have to miss anything. You had that one tape that you recorded shows with over and over. That's where some of these clips come from on the net, Retro TV collectors discovering those old tapes at yard sales.
Mike Post once again comes through as the composer of the opening theme music. The theme was ruined for the 5th season. Musical scores for the episodes (background music) was done by Mike Post, Jerry Grant and Velton Ray Bunch.
Bit of trivia. Bellisario wanted to make an episode where Sam leaps into Thomas Magnum of Bellisario's other show Magnum p.i. This idea never came to fruition.
Also if you didn't know this, in this episode Sam has leaped into his partner Al Calavicci in the past. Al's call-sign (pilot nickname) is Bingo. That's who the woman Lisa (played by actress Terry Farrell) was calling to "Hey Bingo!", it was Al. The intro is from "Leap for Lisa" the last episode of season 4 ep # 22 if I recall.
I gave this episode a PG rating for brief nudity.
