awesome footage, though it contains some inaccuracies. Caen for example (6:29), as shown in the footage, wasnt bombed by the germans but by the allies. The germans ending up in POW camps in the US indeed were lucky, but a great percentage also ended up in french POW prisons, which had a higher death ratio than those of the germans on the western front. The snipers that kept fighting werent unaware of the surrender but basically blind Nazis.
Most of that footage was filmed by the crews of two famous directors: George Stevens and John Ford.
Quite unique footage of a a very important moment in History, when young heroes coming from the other side of the ocean fought and died to liberate the world from the Nazis.
