A BARMAID cheated death when a mugger’s knife was stopped by her £6 BRA.
Victim Vicky Parsons was stabbed in the chest by a masked yob who had demanded her cash.

The point of the knife pierced her skin — but amazingly the serrated blade caught on the wiring of a new bra she had bought from Asda.

Relieved Vicky, 26, said last night: “The bra saved my life. It’s the best £6 I’ve ever spent.”

Vicky spoke out as the knife thug — then aged just 14 — was sent to a young offenders’ institution for four years after being convicted of assault with intent to rob and GBH.

Vicky, from Hull, was attacked as she was taking a break from her job at the city’s Wellington Inn.

She was relaxing in her car with a sandwich and a crossword when someone grabbed at her throat through the open window.

At first she thought it was a pal fooling around — but to her horror she was confronted by two muggers wearing bandanas over their faces.

Vicky said: “One had a large sharp knife across my throat. I instinctively pushed it away and it cut my hand.

“He shouted, ‘Give me some money’ and I swore at him. Then he pushed the knife at my chest and ran off.”

Despite her shock Vicky got out of her car and flagged down two men driving past.

She added: “These lads were brilliant. They drove after him, caught him and dragged him back. When the police arrived I looked my attacker in the eye and said, ‘You’ve stabbed me, you’ve cut me’. He said, ‘No, I didn’t even have a knife’.

“He was put in a van and I was taken to hospital. When I handed my clothes to the police the wiring was bent on my bra. I wouldn’t mind — but I had only worn it a couple of times.

“It’s disgusting that a 14-year-old child tried to rob me with a knife. And I’m so grateful to the lads who caught him.”

Detective Constable Emma Rion said Vicky suffered “a horrendous attack”, adding: “We may have been dealing with a murder.”

Asda said: “We’re delighted one of our bras saved Vicky.

“We would like to invite her to come in so she can replace the damaged item with a selection of new ones. This is our very own wonder bra.”

The second youth involved in the attack in August was never caught.
