So the racing fans of Liveleak have probably heard of this. Looks like Deltawing have got Nissan onboard in a big way now, who will supply them with a state of the art 1.6 turbo (and slap their name on the car).
The car looks like it will definitely run at Le Mans this year. I expect just finishing that race will be a win for them, and rightly so, but if its perfomance characteristics are like they say, they could win some of the categories, like the fuel consumption award.
What do you guys think? Would they let this design compete in any Formulas? Would Bernie let it in? Or Indycar? Would it make an entertaining Type seres or new Formula on its own?
Theres a chance this thing might outperform normal types, and then really it comes down to the look of the thing, whether people are interested in watching it race, and if teams are interested in running it.
I remember seeing the concepts and mock ups over the last couple of years, and I always hated it. It looked like a bad sc-fi concept, by an A-level art student. BUT seeing it come alive at Sebring and just recently Snetterton, my opinion has shifted slightly.
