You guys know by now that I am a huge film geek, not that I like film production that much, I am just fat. I digress. This is a European company's contribution to my hobby called "The Spike".

Oh god. Beautiful robot.
Done panned slomo shots for years, as have many other cameramen with rails or booms in addition, so nothing new in concept but the robot is awesome.

make sure the microphone area is clean. A lot of times very small shipping particles get in the vents. (happened to me once).
I chose to buy an external mic that is attached to my camera (Cannon Vixia HD 300) to avoid static noise.
...or your camera could have a defective microphone.
