Dog waiting at police station to beg for mercy for owner
The owner is detained for threatening others with knife. The dog refuses to eat anything if it is not served by his owner. Cops are moved by dog's loyalty but still have to lock the man up for ten days. They agree to take care of the dog when the man is in jail.

@downhill2400 oh but that would totally bypass the point of jail. My German Shepherd can command my attention 60/60/24/7 just by whining for his tummy to be scratched, and woe is me when I stop scratching for more than 2 seconds!!

@Zeaux Actually there are programs in some American prisons where they bring in animals for inmates to temporarily care for. It's thought that the animals help the inmates to learn new values.
