  • Watching this i didn't smile once, i watched and thought about how sad it was the way he went through all the years of the business and to have it all end the way it did.
    I so wish he could have just retired and grew old with the rest of us .

  • THis is interesting. This is probably that last year that he was realtively normal. Before descending into the Memphis Mafia years of massive drug abuse and insanity. There is a very good documentary with all of this gang talking about what really happened. Elvis speninding weeks in his bedroom, never coming out. Massive drugs to wake up, go to sleep. He couldn't go out for a hamburger without having his posse with him.

      That may be caused by amphetamine withdrawal. He obviously had been taking a lot of shit. You can see the build up to it a few moments beforehand, then the brain zap. It can feel like an electric shock in the brain and he may have felt like his brain turned off for a moment. I skipped through parts of this video and only for you saying I would have missed this.   • I am from Memphis and have lived under this guys shadow all my life. Really, the guy was to rednecks what John Lennon was to hippies. I was 10 years old when he died, and in the next couple of days, thousands if not millions of freaks descended on Memphis. There wasn't a hotel room within 100 miles or so from Mempho. Just amazing. Too bad YouTube wasn't around then.

    Elvis was actually against alcohol, because his father was a drunk, and he would not allow booze in his home or allow his minions More..

    • Elvis also died in the middle of August, which is the HOTTEST, most miserable time of the year in the Memphis.

      Right after he died, Elvis was placed in a masoleum (I actually learned this word because of Elvis, although I probably cannot spell it correctly), and some stupid black guys tried to steal the corpse for ransom!

      Unfortunately, they were caught before they got the body of The King.

      The King of Memphis is now Jerry Lawler. Think of Elvis as a wrestler if you dont know whom I am talkin More..
