This order has no logical arguments to counter the trend, so it lashes out violently at the threat. And violence is very acceptable in Islamic societies unfortunately.

We should feel a twinge of sympathetic pain for those kids. They were just trying to emulate the West and break away from the strict Islamic bullshit they are born into. Their culture, seeing the Western influence brutally killed them for it. Yeah, they picked the Emo look, we can all laugh at that. But I feel that in their eyes...it wasn't becoming an Emo, it was trying to look more like us and rebel. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Well, before the Soviets went into Afghanistan, there was a western leaning culture struggleing among the cave dwellars who had to 'coexist'. When the Soviets didn't like the way the islamic country was going, they invaded. That was the early story.
When the Soviets faded, the talibs made deals using the democratic power struggle grab and eventually took it all and those little western leaning families and groups were treated like the "emo" kids of Irag today.
