Blue Angels. The F-4 Era.

The Blue Angels shatter the sky with an incredible display.

Amazing formation takeoff, a couple of moves you wont see these days.

Talking of which, I remember as a kid in the 80s seeing a display of a pair of Harriers, and they were doing their famous 'bow' to sign off, (if youve seen a Harrier display youve seen this) when suddenly an RAF F-4 came howling in at insanely low level from the sea, a dot and a rumble in the distance became a roar and 20 odd tons of jet fighter...passed BETWEEN and BELOW the hovering Harriers, and pulled up in front of the crowd, burners flaming and off out of sight again.

They just wouldnt allow that these days.
I suppose its for the best, but still....

  • Very cool.
I do not personally remember them flying the F-4.
I do remember them flying the A-4 however.

  • The Blue's F-4 inspired me to join the Navy in 1978.

I was also lucky to work the F-4 Phantom II J,S,B and N models as an Electrican.

Note to Uploader: The Blue Angels are flown by the U.S. Navy. Check Tags. Voted & Fav'd.
