I converted a Silverado to run on LPG, kept then tank under the bed, if you think about it a gas tank is just molded plastic that can rupture, an LPG tank is 3/8 inch thick steel (or more) to stand the pressure so it can take a hit, just have to be careful on protecting the valves. I changed the oil every 10,000 miles and it came out as clean as it was when I put it in. Did the same thing to an old Chevy 2.8L V6, after about a week running on LPG I started to see flakes of carbon come out of th More..

They did this in ww2 so nothing new here.Might be something you should think about converting to before gas hits 10 dollars a gal in the U.S.

Yes, the same, the power output is a bit less, but no a lot of difference.

You would ordinarily think so :-) In Asia LPG conversion for underbones and scooters is becoming quite commonplace - these are motorcycles typically between 80 and 100 cc. Very safe given the non-existent rider training and frequency of accidents, so safe that the only accidents I've heard about involve dilapidated Taxis, not motorcycles.

It's more fun to pay 3 bucks a gallon on a low mileage SUV, and what about belching exhaust. lol. No seriously, that's a great technology, I'm all for the cheap and smart ideas.

I agree with you. During WW2 in France they converted car engines to "gazogene", gas powered engines. If it's cheaper why not? The oil mafia that's why.

you can install a bleeder valve incase anything was to happen and it will relieve pressure and hopefully it wont blow up in your face.

What would the "miles per tank" be between gasoline and compressed gas?
For example, you got 90 miles out of a tank of gasoline, how many miles on one tank of compressed gas?
