A drunk Queensland man tried to start a fight in the wrong home when he demanded to be let into what he thought was his sister's house.
Neil Thomas McGrady was in a drunken haze on August 1 when he began banging violently on a stranger's door, the News-Mail reports.
Not only was the 39-year-old grandfather at the wrong doorstep, he was in the wrong street.
Witnesses told the Warwick Magistrates Court this week how McGrady had tried to get into two cars at the property before attempting to get inside the house.
When the residents of the home refused to let him inside despite his yelling and banging, McGrady tried to start a fight with them.
Police were soon at the scene but McGrady had fled to a nearby backyard, where he was later found.
McGrady's lawyer told the court his client was a father of eight and a grandfather to three.
He admitted McGrady was an alcoholic who had consumed four "small" bottles of wine earlier in the night, which were later found to be full-size 700ml bottles.
