That does not appear to be a backdraft. Backdraft are not typically associated with large amounts of flames as we see in this video. Backdrafts are also referred to as Smoke Explosions. But the video still ROCKS!!!

Was it a backdraft or did the place simply collapse?

"Holy Shit" lol, great video but not a backdraft, backdrafts don't occur when there is that much fire.

Yep, more likely an LP storage tank B.L.E.V.E. (boiling liquid evaporating vapor explosion)
That building was venting way too well to store enough pressure to backdraft or flashover.

It wasnt an explosion, the building colapsed. If it where an explosion you would see a fireball come up out of the building. The fire you saw come out of the windows was all the gas displaced by the falling roof.

Not a backdraft. Backdrafts occur when a fire is oxygen-starved and then oxygen is reintroduced to the fire causing a massive flare up.
This looks more like a flashover. A flashover occurs when everything that is combustible reaches a very high temperature (generally around 1000 degrees F). At that temperature, the heated components create a flammable gas and BOOM. This could simply be some highly combustible material exploding inside the building, too. Either way, it's a good vid.
